Destiny 2: The Final Shape Salvation’s Edge Raid – Weapons Guide

A difficult raid, but the rewards might just make it worth all the effort.

Salvation’s Edge ended up being one of the most challenging raids in Destiny history, as even the world’s first group took almost 24 hours to complete it. Even outside of contest mode, this raid is no joke. But luckily, there are a bunch of great weapons here to make this hard-as-hell activity worth doing. Let’s take a close look at each new weapon, starting with the Exotic!

Euphony (Exotic – Stasis Kinetic Linear Fusion Rifle)

Now this is how to design a raid Exotic. Euphony is one of only a couple special-ammo Linear Fusion Rifles, and it’s the first one designed for heavy DPS. Unwound allows Euphony to spawn Threadlings after dealing sustained damage, then the Spindle perk gives you a damage boost whenever you do Threadling damage. It’s a nice cycle that’s not hard to activate, and it synergizes really well with a ton of Strand builds. Plus, it has one of the best visual designs of any weapon in this game, which is really saying something.

Critical Anomaly (Stasis Sniper Rifle)

PVE God Roll:

  • Perk: Firing Squad, Bait and Switch, or Chaos Reshaped
  • Perk: Chill Clip or Reconstruction
  • Mag: Tactical Mag
  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling, Arrowhead Brake, or Chambered Compensator

PVP God Roll:

  • Perk: Snapshot Sights
  • Perk: Opening Shot or Keep Away
  • Mag: Accurized Rounds
  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake, Fluted Barrel, or Hammer-Forged Rifling

The most exciting use for Critical Anomaly is to freeze enemies with Chill Clip. This perk is always fantastic, as it can be used for anything from stopping rampaging enemies who threaten to cause a wipe to Champions. Firing Squad is the best perk in the other column in my opinion (since it’s so easy to activate), but Bait and Switch is also strong and Chaos Reshaped is too, even though I don’t think it’s at its best on a Sniper.

Imminence (Strand SMG)

PVE God Roll:

  • Perk: Chaos Reshaped
  • Perk: Demolitionist or Splice
  • Mag: Tactical Mag or Flared Magwell
  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling, Arrowhead Brake, or Chambered Compensator

PVP God Roll:

  • Perk: Kill Clip or Target Lock
  • Perk: Dynamic Sway Reduction
  • Mag: Accurized Rounds
  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling, or Hammer-Forged Rifling

While nothing really over-the-top stands out here about Imminence, it has a few great perks. In particular, the new Chaos Reshaped perk is really interesting. It functions like an improved version of Frenzy, meaning that you get a damage boost while “in combat”, but this time it scales up over time. After a while, you’ll get an even higher damage boost and also occasional healing as a result of this perk. This weapon will probably end up in at least some Strand/Prismatic builds, as it’s always hard to pass up a new, exciting perk.

Non-Denouement (Arc Bow)

PVE God Roll:

  • Perk: Voltshot
  • Perk: Dragonfly or Archer’s Tempo
  • Arrow: Carbon Arrow Shaft or Combat Arrow Shaft
  • String: Agile Bowstring or Tactile String

Let’s just jump straight to the point: this bow can get Voltshot. Since that’s already one of the best ad-clear perks in the game, I’m thrilled to see it on a weapon that works so perfectly with it. Voltshot gives you the ability to chain lightning onto ads, but you have to reload after a kill to activate/refresh the buff. Since bows reload after every shot anyway, it’s perfect for chaining infinite ads together. It’s basically a legendary version of Trinity Ghoul, with just a bit less power. I’d be surprised if this doesn’t end up the most-used weapon from Salvation’s Edge.

Forthcoming Deviance (Void Glaive)

PVE God Roll:

  • Perk: Chaos Reshaped, Chain Reaction, or Destabilizing Rounds
  • Perk: Reconstruction or Demolitionist
  • Mag: Extended Mag
  • Haft: Ballistic Tuning or Supercooled Accelerator

If you’re looking for a super strong weapon for running up to ads and chopping through all of them, this is a great Glaive for you. The new Chaos Reshaped perk is just as great here as on any other weapons, but Chain Reaction or Destabilizing Rounds are probably better for ad-clear purposes. Destabilizing Rounds pairs so well with Void builds that it’s hard not to utilize, but the other options all work there too.

Nullify (Solar Pulse Rifle)

PVE God Roll:

  • Perk: Incandescent or Chaos Reshaped
  • Perk: Firefly or Rapid Hit
  • Mag: Tactical Mag
  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake or Chambered Compensator

PVP God Roll:

  • Perk: Incandescent
  • Perk: Heal Clip or Rapid Hit
  • Mag: Accurized Rounds
  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling or Corkscrew Rifling

Every raid has to have one or two primary energy weapons with a ton of great perks. This time, Nullify seems to fill that void. Incandescent carries it to the top as it does most Solar weapons these days, but there’s nothing wrong with that. It also has Chaos Reshaped, which might just be better than Incandescent (even though that’s hard to imagine). I’m sure we’ll see plenty of this weapon in every kind of content, so it’s definitely worth remembering.

Summum Bonum (Arc Sword)

PVE God Roll:

  • Perk: Chaos Reshaped, Bait and Switch, or Chain Reshaped
  • Perk: Relentless Strikes or Tireless Blade
  • Guard: Balanced Guard
  • Blade: Hungry Edge

Well, every raid has one or two bad weapons. Summum Bonum doesn’t really offer much, but it does have a fairly decent PVE roll. Chaos Reshaped is great and this is the only Sword it’s available on so far, so that alone gives it a bit of usefulness. Other than that, though, it’s almost entirely average. It does, however, continue the trend of bad raid Swords.
