Spire of the Watcher Weapons

There are five new weapons in Spire of the Watcher, including the new Exotic Bow. In this section, we’ll take a look at each of those, including God Rolls! If you want to read about the re-issued Seventh Seraph weapons found in this dungeon, we’ve included that right after this section.

Long Arm

Long Arm is a very, very welcome addition to the game. It’s an aggressive frame Scout Rifle, with a similar overall feel as Dead Man’s Tale. Having this style of weapon in Legendary form is great, both since it’s a good weapon and because it feels excellent to use. The combination of Explosive Payload and Rapid Hit is killer in PVE, and for PVP, it has some decent options like Hip-Fire Grip and Opening Shot. It also matches the “cowboy” aesthetic of the dungeon’s armor.

God Roll:

  • Explosive Payload (PVE/PVP)
  • Rapid Hit (PVE), Subsitence (PVE), Hip-Fire Grip (PVP)
  • Accurized Rounds
  • Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling, Chambered Compensator

Terminus Horizon

Terminus Horizon is a new Heavy Machine Gun with a pretty solid overall perk set. Most notably, it has the new Target Lock perk, which is really strong on weapons that fire for a long time (like heavy machine guns). In addition, it can also get Triple Tap in its other row, which works great alongside Target Lock. The other combinations have lots of potential here, too, so it’ll be a fun weapon to figure out.

God Roll:

  • Target Lock (PVE), Adrenaline Junky (PVE)
  • Triple Tap (PVE), Demolitionist (PVE)
  • Extended Mag (PVE), Alloy Magazine (PVE)
  • Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling, Chambered Compensator

Wilderflight

Wilderflight is a double fire grenade launcher, meaning it shoots two grenades at a time. This makes it a very unique weapon, and with perks this good, it gets even better. Vorpal Weapon and Frenzy are both good options (Vorpal is more consistent, Frenzy is more damage but isn’t as straightforward), and Blinding Grenades is one of the strongest perks in the game when optimized. Spike Grenades are also good if you don’t need to blind enemies.

God Roll:

  • Vorpal Weapon (PVE), Frenzy (PVE)
  • Auto-Loading Holster (PVE)
  • Blinding Grenades, Spike Grenades
  • Volatile Launch, Confined Launch

Liminal Vigil

It’s not too often we get a good Sidearm these days, so it’s nice to see one. Liminal Vigil can be optimized well for either PVE or PVP, with some good options for each. It definitely performs better in PVP, though, which makes it the only weapon so far that can say that. The Tex Balanced Stock origin trait also helps it succeed in PVP, as it grants bonuses after hip-firing.

God Roll:

  • Desperado (PVE/PVP), Kill Clip (PVP), Rangefinder (PVP)
  • Perpetual Motion (PVP), Headstone (PVP)
  • Ricochet Rounds, High-Caliber Rounds
  • Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling, Chambered Compensator

Hierarchy of Needs

Hierarchy of Needs is the Exotic from this dungeon, so its perks and stats are pre-determined. It’s a Solar Bow with the unique Exotic perk, Guidance Ring. This allows you to build “Guidance Ring energy” by landing precision hits or final blows, then create a Guidance Ring by hip-firing at full energy. If you shoot an arrow through the literal ring that will spawn on the map after doing this, the shots will effectively do more damage. It’s a really interesting weapon, if you’re lucky enough to get it.

Seventh Seraph Weapons

There are also a couple re-issued weapons in this dungeon to accompany the new ones. Two Seventh Seraph weapons can be found here, and both have been updated with better perks and an origin trait. The origin trait they were given is “Rasputin’s Arsenal,” which partially reloads your mag upon breaking a shield.

Seventh Seraph Carbine

The Seventh Seraph Carbine is one of the most consistent precision frame Auto Rifles available, and it’s good in both low-end and high-end content. Target Lock is a very strong perk in general, and Frenzy is a great alternative which also offers bonus damage. And Reconstruction is simply one of the best perks in the game since it not only auto-loads your weapon, but overfills it up to double its capacity. If you like Auto Rifles and play a lot of high-end content, you’re gonna want one of these.

God Roll:

  • Target Lock (PVE), Frenzy (PVE)
  • Reconstruction (PVE)
  • Seraph Rounds, Accurized Rounds
  • Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling, Chambered Compensator

Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver

The Revolver is not nearly as good as the Carbine, to be honest. When compared to the Carbine, the lack of decent perks is really unfortunate. Vorpal Weapon is pretty good on primary weapons since they get 20% bonus damage out of it, and Redirection can be good if you’re planning on shooting more low-ranking enemies. Reconstruction is just as incredible here as on every other gun, if not better, since hand cannons take so long to reload. It’s not terrible, it’s just hard to see it having a place in any meta.

God Roll:

  • Vorpal Weapon (PVE), Redirection (PVE)
  • Reconstruction (PVE)
  • Seraph Rounds, Accurized Rounds
  • Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling, Chambered Compensator

Spire of the Watcher Armor

In addition to all the new weapons from this dungeon, there is also a set of armor for players to acquire. This time around, Bungie decided to go with an Old West, cowboy aesthetic. This is a fantastic set of armor that’s definitely worth grabbing, especially if you have transmog materials sitting around to use.

You can find armor pieces in every encounter of Spire of the Watcher, but the easiest encounter to farm is the final one. The last encounter can drop loot from any encounter, including every armor piece. On Master difficulty, you’ll be able to acquire Artifice versions of the armor, which gives an additional artifact mod slot.
