Destiny 2: Eye of Another World Solar Warlock Build Guide

Buff your allies and spam your abilities with this Eye of Another World build.

One of my favorite types of Exotics to make builds for are the builds that improve ability regeneration. Cycling your abilities in a nice rhythm is one of the best parts of the Destiny 2 experience. This Eye of Another World build is designed to rapidly refill our ability energy, provide us with healing, and support our fireteam with Radiant and Cure as often as possible.

Build Overview

Eye of Another World is a simple, yet strange Exotic. I get the feeling it was made mostly for PvP but that doesn’t mean we can’t get some use out of it in PvE. The Exotic has three abilities:

  1. It highlights enemies that have 50% or less HP. (This is a red outline that can be pretty difficult to notice given all the visual effects that happen on screen in Destiny.)
  2. It improves the airborne effectiveness stat of all our weapons.
  3. The most important thing is that it provides a 50% increase to all our ability regeneration speeds while it is equipped.

Something to keep in mind with this build is that it was created with a fireteam in mind. If you wish to attempt some solo content like solo Lost Sectors or Dungeon runs, you are going to find this build underperforms in those scenarios. For the build’s best results, you’ll want to play content that has other Guardians fighting alongside you.

Gameplay Loop

The build’s main gameplay loop centers around giving your allies buffs either through Radiant or Cure, then gaining the Ember of Benevolence buff that increases your Solar ability regeneration by a massive amount for a short time.

  1. Consume your grenade ability to gain Heat Rises.
  2. Use your melee ability to grant yourself and your nearby allies Radiant.
  3. Granting Radiant to allies will grant you the Ember of Benevolence buff.
  4. Once the buff runs out or when one of your allies gets low on health, use Pheniox Dive near your ally to Cure them and refresh the Ember of Benevolence buff.
  5. Use your solar weapons and abilities to kill enemies and maintain your Radiant, Restoration, Heat Rises, and Benevolence buffs.
  6. Repeat from step 1.

This build’s recommended Exotic weapon is Sun Shot because it is one of the best Solar Exotic weapons in the current season (Season 23) and it triggers most of our Fragments. For your legendary weapons, I recommend something with Demolitionist or Pugilist as that will add to your ability regeneration.

Abilities

  • Well of Radiance (Super): A Super that provides both healing and a damage boost to all fireteam members standing inside the Well.
  • Celestial Fire (Melee): I choose this one over Snap because of its added range. This melee’s additional range will allow us to trigger Benevilance more often and from a safer distance.
  •  Phoenix Dive (Class Ability): Applies cure to nearby allies and grants us Restoration x2 when activated with Heat Rises
  •  Fusion Grenade: It deals very good damage thanks to our Aspect and it has one of the shortest cooldowns, allowing us to use it much more frequently than something like the Solar Grenade.

Aspects

Our first Aspect is Heat Rises which allows us to consume our grenade and gain a few buffs: an improved hover, the ability to fire weapons while hovering, applies cure to nearby allies when you consume your grenade, and grants melee ability energy whenever we get a kill while airborne. Another bonus from this Aspect is how well it pairs with Eye of Another World’s airborne effectiveness improvements. Touch of Flame is our second Aspect and it simply improves the performance of our Fusion grenade, allowing it to explode twice.

Fragments

  • Ember of Emperyan: Extends our Radiant and Restoration buffs
  • Ember of Singing: Improves Class ability regen when scorching targets
  • Ember of Benevolence: Grants a massive increase to Solar ability regeneration when you buff allies.
  • Ember of Torches: Applies Radiant to you and nearby allies when hitting an enemy with a charged melee attack.

Armor Mods

  • Ashes to Assets Grants Super energy for every grenade kill.
  • Harmonic + Strand Siphon: Generates a consistent amount of Orbs from rapid Solar weapon kills.
  • Grenade Kickstart: Restores a portion of grenade energy using armor charge.
  • Firepower: Generates Orbs from our Grenade kills.
  • Charged-Up: Adds an additional armor charge stack.
  • Orbs of Restoration: Orbs grant energy to our lowest charged ability.
  • Stacks on Stacks: All sources of armor charge grant an additional armor charge stack.
  • Absolution: Orbs grant a bit of energy to all abilities.
