Destiny 2: All New Weapons in Season of the Seraph and God Rolls

Every new season of Destiny 2 is accompanied by a ton of new weapons, and the Season of Seraph is no exception. Today, we’ll be covering all the new weapons added this season, from the Exotics to the playlist weapons.

We’ll go through each category here — the Exotics, the Ritual Weapon, the seasonal activity weapons, the world drops, and the playlist weapons — giving a brief rundown and listing the God Roll for each! For each God Roll, we’ll also indicate whether a perk is good for PVE or PVP (or both).

Let’s get started!

Exotics

Exotic weapons are considered the “rarest” in the game. While not always the overall best weapons, Exotics are always expected to be unique in some way.

So far, there has only been one new Exotic with Season of the Seraph, but there will surely be more Exotic weapons in the near future of Destiny 2. We’ll be sure to update this guide with any changes!

Where to Get: Season Pass (Free and Paid)

The Manticore is one of the most unique weapons added in a long time. This weapon does a lot of things and has some weird interactions, but it basically allows you to hover in the air while shooting or aimed in. We definitely recommend trying it out since it’s so unique, but whether or not it’s good is still up in the air.

Ritual Weapon: Veles-X

Ritual Weapon - Veles-X

Ritual weapons come pre-masterworked with a pre-determined perk set. This means you don’t have to grind for different versions of the weapon, as the one you get is what you’re stuck with (whether you like it or not).

This season’s ritual weapon is a Void Pulse Rifle with pretty mediocre stat rolls. Veles-X might have some niche uses, but at the moment, it’s a pretty dull ritual weapon.

Seasonal Activity Weapons

This season’s featured playlist activity is Heist Battlegrounds. It is a three-person activity that resembles a strike, which honestly isn’t the most exciting seasonal activity we’ve seen lately. With that being said, however, the Season of the Seraph does give us six new weapons in Destiny 2. Here’s where to find each of the six following weapons:

  • Heist Battlegrounds (seasonal playlist activity)
  • Engram focusing at the H.E.L.M.

Disparity

Disparity

Disparity is a solid Pulse Rifle in the Kinetic slot with a fun combination of perks. Desperado/Outlaw is an incredible combo, so if nothing else, this Pulse at least has that going for it. This weapon is really solid all around, so we highly recommend seeking one out.

God Roll:

  • Desperado (PVE or PVP), Kill Clip (PVP)
  • Outlaw (PVE), Rapid Hit (PVP)
  • Accurized Rounds, Tactical Mag
  • Arrowhead Break

Tripwire Canary

It’s always nice to have another Arc bow, and with these perks, it’s looking like a really good one, too. It’s only major downside is that it isn’t very good in PVP, but most bows aren’t, so it’s not too surprising. In PVE, though, it’s definitely worth having.

God Roll:

  • Explosive Head (PVE), Successful Warm-Up (PVE)
  • Archer’s Tempo (PVE), Dragonfly (PVE), Rapid Hit (PVE)
  • Compact Arrow Shaft, Carbon Arrow Shaft, Fiberglass Arrow Shaft
  • Tactile String or Agile Bowstring

Judgment of Kelgorath

Judgment of Kelgorath has great perks for a Glaive. This weapon type still hasn’t fully found its footing in the meta, so it’s nice to see another strong addition to the Glaive line-up. Incandescent is a really strong perk, and Pugilist goes well alongside it. This weapon has plenty of perk options, so feel free to try them all out.

God Roll:

  • Incandescent (PVE)
  • Pugilist (PVE), Demolitionist (PVE), Overflow (PVE)
  • Extended Mag, Alloy Magazine
  • Ballistic Tuning, Supercooled Accelerator

Path of Least Resistance

Trace Rifles are always a lot of fun, so it’s never bad to see a new one release. This one in particular can roll with Voltshot, which automatically makes it promising. Dragonfly is also a good pick for heavy ad-clear builds.

God Roll:

  • Voltshot (PVE), Dragonfly (PVE)
  • Subsistence (PVE), Triple Tap (PVE), Stats for All (PVE)
  • Enhanced Battery
  • Arrowhead Break, Chambered Compensator, Corkscrew Rifling

Fire and Forget

Fire and Forget is a Stasis Linear Fusion Rifle with an Aggressive Frame, making it one of only two in the game with that frame. It might not be quite as strong as the other Aggressive Frame LFR (Stormchaser), but it puts up a strong fight.

God Roll:

  • Vorpal Weapon (PVE), Focused Fury (PVE), High-Impact Reserves (PVE/PVP), Frenzy (PVE)
  • Field Prep (PVE), Rangefinder (PVP)
  • Enhanced Battery, Liquid Coils, Accelerated Coils
  • Arrowhead Break, Chambered Compensator, Corkscrew Rifling

Retrofit Escapade

Retrofit Escapade

Retrofit Escapade is one of the stronger Machine Guns in the game right now, so it’s definitely one to look for early. While it might not be meta anytime soon, its perks guarantee it’ll at least be useful for ad-clear and maybe some damage phases too.

God Roll:

  • Rampage (PVE/PVP), Target Lock (PVE)
  • Fourth Time’s the Charm (PVE), Feeding Frenzy (PVE), Heating Up (PVP)
  • Accurized Rounds
  • Arrowhead Break, Chambered Compensator, Corkscrew Rifling

World Drop Weapons

The weapons in this section are each available as a part of the world drop loot pool. These weapons can drop randomly from a number of activities, or can be opened via legendary engrams. Farming them usually requires lots of engram deciphering, so be prepared for that.

Lodbrok-C

Lodbrok-C

The Lodbrok-C is a very reliable new Auto Rifle with basically no downside. Its perks are great, it feels great, and it even looks great, too. It’ll be annoying to farm since it’s a world drop, but it’ll be worth it once you get a good one.

God Roll:

  • Target Lock (PvE), Cascade (PVE), Kill Clip (PVP)
  • Demolitionist (PVE), Perpetual Motion (PVP)
  • Ricochet Rounds, Armor Piercing Rounds, High-Caliber Rounds
  • Arrowhead Break, Chambered Compensator, Corkscrew Rifling

Aurvandil FR6

This Fusion Rifle is incredible due to its perk combinations. Chill Clip is excellent for ad-clear, and Reconstruction alongside it is insane. This is one of the best God Rolls this season, so definitely be on the look out for one.

God Roll:

  • Chill Clip (PVE)
  • Reconstruction (PVE)
  • Accelerated Coils
  • Arrowhead Break, Corkscrew Rifling

Jararaca-3SR

Jararaca-3SR

Jararaca-3SR is a pretty simple Stasis Scout Rifle. Its perks are alright, but nothing worth getting excited over. Headstone is nice, though, so it could have specific uses related to Stasis builds.

God Roll:

  • Headstone (PVE/PVP), Kill Clip (PVE/PVP)
  • Rapid Hit (PVE), Perpetual Motion (PVP)
  • High-Caliber Rounds, Extended Mag, Appended Mag, Ricochet Rounds
  • Arrowhead Break, Chambered Compensator

Fioritura-59

Fioritura-59
Click to expand. | Image: Bungie via HGG / Brett Moss

Fioritura-59 is an interesting Sidearm. It doesn’t really have the best perks, but it does Repulsor Brace, which is pretty good. The major downside is that the first perk slot doesn’t have any standout picks, making the weapon feel much worse than other Sidearms.

God Roll:

  • Repulsor Brace (PVE), Kill Clip (PVP)
  • Killing Wind (PVE), Hip-Fire Grip (PVP)
  • Extended Mag, Armor Piercing Rounds
  • Hammer-Forged Rifling, Extended Barrel, Arrowhead Break

Playlist Weapons

These weapons are tied to a specific playlist or activity and can be obtained by playing their respective activity. These weapons will often be designed with their respective activity in mind, so make sure to be aware of that. For example, a Crucible drop weapon is usually going to be more geared toward PVP.

Rose

Rose

Rose is a new addition to the competitive Crucible playlist, and has already established itself as one of the best Hand Cannons for PVP. It can also be used in PVE somewhat effectively, but it shines in PVP. This is easily one of the most exciting Hand Cannons in a while.

God Roll:

  • Explosive Payload (PVE/PVP), Rangefinder (PVP)
  • Quickdraw (PVP), Moving Target (PVP), Rapid Hit (PVE/PVP)
  • Accurized Rounds
  • Hamer-Forged Rifling, Extended Barrel, Smallbore

Blowout

Blowout is not a good Rocket Launcher. You get this weapon from standard Crucible, so maybe you could give it a try anyway since it’s so easily farmed. Just don’t expect it to carry you through any high-end content.

God Roll:

  • Chain Reaction (PVE), Explosive Light (PVE)
  • Tracking Module (PVE), Impulse Amplifier (PVE)
  • Alloy Casing
  • Volatile Launch, Confined Launch

Prolonged Engagement

Prolonged Engagement is very similar to Funnelweb (another excellent SMG), but in the Kinetic slot instead. This thing is absolutely insane, so we recommend getting one as soon as possible. It’s at least very good, so there’s no reason not to be on the lookout for a good one.

God Roll:

  • Target Lock (PVE), Headstone (PVE/PVP), Frenzy (PVE)
  • Subsistence (PVE), Feeding Frenzy (PVE), Outlaw (PVE/PVP)
  • Ricochet Rounds, Armor-Piercing Rounds
  • Arrowhead Brake, Chambered Compensator, Corkscrew Rifling

Alburna-D

Alburna-D is a solid Sniper Rifle for PVP playlists. Snapshot Sights and No Distractions/Moving Target is a great Sniper combo, and it also has some decent options for PVE. That being said, this is definitely more of a PVP weapon.

God Roll:

  • Snapshot Sights (PVP), Firing Line (PVE), Frenzy (PVE)
  • No Distractions (PVP), Moving Target (PVP), Elemental Capacitor (PVE/PVP)
  • Accurized Rounds
  • Arrowhead Brake

Re-Issued IKELOS Weapons

The IKELOS line of weapons has been re-issued this season, with new perks, an origin trait, and in craftable form! To get these Season of the Seraph weapons in Destiny 2, you have two main options:

  • Engram focusing at the H.E.L.M.
  • Use the Resonance Amp in your inventory to locate Warmind nodes

Now that you know the basics of how to get them, here’s a rundown of each!

IKELOS_HC_v1.0.3

The IKELOS Hand Cannon has never been the best, but it is slightly better now than before. With its new origin trait and refreshed perks, there’s never been a better time to give it a try.

God Roll:

  • Frenzy (PVE), Rampage (PVE), Golden Tricorn (PVE)
  • Rapid Hit (PVE/PVP)
  • Seraph Rounds
  • Corkscrew Rifling, Arrowhead Brake

This shotgun falls into the mediocre category, unfortunately, but that’s not to say that it’s all bad. It does have a decent combination of perks, it just doesn’t have much of a place in the meta. It’s definitely worth grabbing, though.

God Roll:

  • Trench Barrel (PVE), Incandescent (PVE/PVP), Cascade (PVE)
  • Feeding Frenzy (PVE), Grave Robber (PVE)
  • Tactical Mag, Appended Mag
  • Smoothbore, Smallbore

IKELOS_SR_v1.0.3

Click to expand. | Image: Bungie via HGG / Brett Moss

The IKELOS Sniper is pretty solid, but lacks any major damage perks. It’s better for PVP, where it can make better use of the perks it does have, like High-Impact Reserves and No Distractions.

God Roll:

  • Incandescent (PVE/PVP), High-Impact Reserves (PVE/PVP)
  • No Distractions (PVP), Overflow (PVE/PVP), Perpetual Motion (PVE/PVP)
  • Seraph Rounds, Accurized Rounds
  • Arrowhead Brake

IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3

Click to expand. | Image: Bungie via HGG / Brett Moss

The IKELOS SMG has long been considered one of the best legendary weapons in the game, and now that it’s been updated, it’s once again at that level. Voltshot is an absolutely incredible perk on this weapon, and the rest of its perks provide a great amount of customization. We definitely recommend getting one of these.

God Roll:

  • Voltshot (PVE)
  • Feeding Frenzy (PVE)
  • Seraph Rounds
  • Arrowhead Brake, Chambered Compensator, Corkscrew Rifling
