Destiny 2: 3 Titan Builds for PVE in Episode: Heresy

Episode: Heresy has seen a bunch of changes that have drastically changed the landscape of PVE builds on Titan.

While Arc builds are without a doubt the best right now, Prismatic also has some fun options as well. In this article, I’ll discuss three of the best builds for Titans in PVE, as well as Artifact perk options, Exotic choices, and more! Let’s get right into it with an Arc build that’s sure to handle just about any activity.

Arc – Bolt Charge

  • Super: Thundercrash
  • Melee: Ballistic Slam
  • Grenade: Whichever you prefer
  • Aspects: Storm’s Keep (required) and Knockout (or Juggernaut)
  • Best Fragments: Ions, Discharge
  • Exotic Armor: Stoicism (Inmost Light + Star-Eater)
  • Best Artifact Mods: Overclock and Load, Dielectric, Flashover, Defibrilating Blast, Hold the Line (if using a Machine Gun), Heavy Ordnance Regeneration (if using a Machine Gun), Particle Reconstruction (if using Fusions)

This is by far my favorite PVE build for Titan this season. Thanks to the Flashover perk in the Artifact combined with the Storm’s Keep aspect, you’ll have near-constant maximum Bolt Charge stacks, which then grant you amplified and do more damage. Storm’s Keep allows you to build up Bolt Charge stacks just by standing behind a Barricade, and it also allows your weapon shots to proc the Bolt Charge damage along with your other abilities. Then the Flashover Artifact perk allows gaining full Bolt Charge to amplify you, and most notably makes the lightning bolt from those Bolt Charge stacks do more damage. Since this process also involves casting abilities, an Exotic class item is best here with the Helm of Inmost Light perk. The Star-Eater ability for bonus super damage upon Orb pickup is my favorite perk to pair with the HOIL one. You should be able to do tons of damage and clear out rooms with ease with this build.

For your Exotic weapon here, Thunderlord is by far the best. It benefits from a ton of Artifact perks this season, and just does insane damage on its own even without them. With Machine Guns being so strong this season, it feels like Thunderlord is by far the most obvious choice. But since Fusion Rifles are also strong, Queenbreaker is a really good choice too if you need DPS instead (even though TL also does high DPS). For most bosses, Queenbreaker is the better choice. But for anything from Tormentors to bosses with slightly less HP, Thunderlord is the king of this build.

Prismatic – Twilight Knockout

  • Super: Twilight Axe
  • Melee: Frenzied Blade (required since it has the most charges)
  • Grenade: Shackle Grenade (easily the best)
  • Aspects: Knockout and Consecration
  • Best Fragments: Sacrifice, Balance, Purpose, Protection, Dawn
  • Exotic Armor: Mask of the Quiet One
  • Best Artifact Mods: Volatile Marksman, Hold the Line, Maligned Harvest, No Bell (if using Glaives), Particle Reconstruction (if using Fusions), Heavy Ordnance Regeneration

This season we have quite a few pro-Void perks in the Artifact, so it’s a great time to use Twilight Arsenal. Plus, even though Consecration got nerfed, it’s still very strong for clearing ads, doing scorch damage, and obliterating rooms when Transcendence is active. Pair that with the Knockout aspect to make your melees do even more, and you have a great Prismatic build for any content. I think this build actually works pretty well in Nightfall strikes and high-level raids, so it’s really good for anything. Since this build focuses more on the Void side of the Artifact, Mask of the Quiet One is a great Exotic to run. It allows you to trigger Devoid (which heals you upon kills) by just getting rapid final blows or kills while at low health. Devoid is, in my opinion, the best buff in the game (especially in high-level content and the Nether seasonal activity) so anything that makes it easier to obtain is a great thing to have.

Exotic weapons here have a lot of options. I think an Exotic primary ammo weapon is best, so anything from Outbreak Perfected to Revision Zero can be great. You could also use an Exotic Fusion like Telesto if that’s what you prefer. The ideal loadout for this build is an Exotic Primary weapon in the top slot like Outbreak or Revision Zero, a legendary Void Fusion or Glaive in the second slot, and a Void Heavy Machine Gun as your heavy. You’ll have tons of Volatile explosions, insane DPS, and the ability to take out Champions without any trouble.

Prismatic – Unbreakable Stasis

  • Super: Glacial Quake
  • Melee: Frenzied Blade
  • Grenade: Glacier Grenade
  • Aspects: Knockout and Unbreakable
  • Best Fragments: Balance, Ruin, Purpose
  • Exotic Armor: Stoicism (Spirit of the Bear + Verity or Armamentarium)
  • Best Artifact Mods: Volatile Marksman, Hold the Line, Maligned Harvest, No Bell (if using Glaives), Particle Reconstruction (if using Fusions), Heavy Ordnance Regeneration

This build utilizes the Unbreakable aspect to give you a Void shield whenever you consume your grenade, which functions the same as the shield you can get with Ursa Furiosa. The Stoicism Exotic class item is best here as well, since it can get the Ursa Furiosa ability as well as others, amongst which Verity and Armamentarium are my favorites for this build. The Glacial Quake super is the best one for this build, as it can clear out rooms easily and works well with lots of Stasis synergies. This build is specifically designed to excel at high-level content where you can benefit most from the Unbreakable shield, so Quake is great for shutting down waves of ads that threaten to wipe your team. For Grandmaster Strikes and difficult raid encounters, this is a really fantastic build.

For Exotic weapons I pretty much recommend the same as with the previous Prismatic build. Spamming Void weapons to synergize with Volatile Rounds and all those Void explosions is the best way to go about it, but you could also switch over to some Arc weapons for boss DPS. There are a lot of routes you can go with this build since the Stasis base doesn’t push you towards either Void or Arc specifically. Just makes sure you pay attention to your artifact perks, as you’ll want to make sure you have either the Arc or Void ones equipped depending on what you’re trying to do.
