GTA Online: The Criminal Enterprises DLC is finally here! With this update, we saw some much-needed re-balancing to the economy, as well as updates to existing businesses. While there isn’t as much “new” content as there are updates to pre-existing things in the game, there are still some good changes I’m glad we got.
There are, however, a few new things Rockstar added to the game besides re-balances. During this update, we’ve got a set of brand new contact missions that sees us swearing in for the IAA! But just what are these IAA contact missions about? How do you start them? That’s what we’ll be covering here today!
How to Start The New IAA Contact Missions
With all that out of the way, let’s begin this guide on how to start the new IAA contact missions in GTA Online!
What Are The New Missions All About?
It’s Los Santos in the middle of summer. A massive heatwave has hit San Andreas, and everyone is struggling to stay cool. To make things worse, gas prices are through the roof! Who’s to blame for this sudden increase in prices at the pump? Well, the IAA knows, and they need you to step in and help them!
The IAA believes the Duggan Family are artificially inflating oil prices, causing the increase in cost. You may recognize this family as the same ones who took over the Diamond Casino Resort during the summer of 2019! But regardless of whether or not you did their missions, the IAA still wants you to help take them down.
You’ll need to complete a total of six different IAA missions across Los Santos in order to finish the job and do your country proud. That all sounds fun and exciting, but just how exactly do you start it? Where do you need to go to kick them off?
How Do I Start Them?
Upon joining a game, you’ll receive a phone call from an agent representing the IAA. He will offer you work and invite you to come downtown to the IAA building. After the phone call ends, a big yellow U will appear on the map in an area called Pillbox Hill. Once that happens, just set the GPS destination on your map and head on over there.
Once you reach the IAA building, you should see a yellow circle in front of the location. Walk into it and press the interact button in order to get started. You’ll then be taken to a matchmaking screen before you launch the mission. You can set the difficulty to easy, normal, or hard. Purchase any body armor and ammo you need and invite your friends to the lobby (or go solo, if that’s your thing).
After you hit the play button and select an outfit to wear for the mission, you’ll be shown a cutscene swearing you into the organization. You can now get started on the very first mission! After it is over, you’ll be brought back to free roam at the Los Santos airport. When you’re ready to complete the next mission, just drive back to the same location and start it like you did the last time.
Are The IAA Contact Missions Worth Doing?
Are the new IAA missions worth your time? Well, yes and no. I enjoyed the cutscenes and the dialogue with Agent ULP. And I also loved the references to previous DLCs like the Casino Update and the Doomsday Heists. The missions are enjoyable enough to play (although they’re pretty much what you would expect from contact missions in GTA Online).
But what about the pay? It’s enough to justify the first playthrough, but there’s not much reason to replay the missions after that. Even on hard mode, the pay is pretty mediocre. You don’t even get a big bonus for completing them all as you do with the Casino missions (although to be fair, you don’t have to buy an expensive property to start these IAA missions).
If you want to grind money, I’d suggest doing the Payphone Hits Franklin provides instead. Or maybe you could do a heist with your pals. Speaking of which, these missions are pretty fun to do with your friends (if you have any). But aside from that, you’re better off doing something else in the chaotic world of GTA Online.
