The Best Facility Locations in GTA 5 Online, Ranked

In GTA Online, heists are without a doubt the BEST way to make money. Whether you’re looking to buy a penthouse or your tenth supercar, there is no easier way to rank in millions of dollars than by pulling off a few high-stakes robberies. Of course, you can’t pull off a heist in GTA 5 Online without a base to plan it from, which is why you need a facility!

Facilities are high-tech, underground bunkers that allow you to host any one of the Doomsday Heists from. There are several facilities in the game, but you can only own one. That is why today we’ll be ranking each and every facility in GTA 5 Online, so you can make an informed purchase.

Facility Overview

Before we dive head first into this article for the best facility in GTA 5 Online, let’s first go over what exactly a facility is. Facilities are bunkers that have been funded and built by the US government.

As mentioned above, they act as high-tech underground hubs for players to host and launch the Doomsday Heists from. There are three Doomsday Heists: Act I, Act II, and Act III. These are difficult heists that pay out decently well, though not as much as the Diamond Casino and Cayo Perico Heists.

In addition to being able to launch the Doomsday Heists, they also have a few practical uses to them outside of making money. For one, you can store 12 vehicles here. 3 of the spots are reserved for specific vehicles, but the other 9 are for any vehicle that you want to store here. You can also purchase an upgrade for your facility that will allow you to use an Orbital Cannon! This is a special weapon that you can activate for $750,000 to instantly kill any player on the map.

Speaking of upgrades, there are plenty of different add-ons you can purchase for this property, including customization options. You can add a bedroom that will allow you to spawn from this location. And you can also customize different things about the facility, such as the graphics on the wall and the color schemes for the base.

Every Facility in GTA 5 Online, Ranked Worst to Best

With that overview finished, let’s hop right into the ranking!

9/9

Land Act Reservoir

First up on our list, we have the Land Act Reservoir facility. I really dislike this map, and I don’t think I’m alone in this. The Land Act Reservoir is located very close to Los Santos, just to the northeast of the city in the outskirts. It can be purchased for exactly $2,950,000. This incredibly steep price tag makes it the MOST expensive facility property in the whole game.

While this location may seem great, since it is close to the city and is very expensive, it’s actually the worst facility. Most of the Doomsday Heist setup missions and all of the finales don’t take place in the city, but instead in the countryside. So getting one close to Los Santos is pointless.

Not to mention, driving heist equipment to this spot is a pain in the ass. The terrain is steep and difficult to navigate, making it a poor spot for getting in and out of. But the high price tag is the final nail in the coffin for this spot.

8/9

Mount Gordo

For our next pick on this ranking of every facility in GTA 5 Online, it’s Mount Gordo. This particular location is fairly isolated, found in the northeast corner of the map. That’s one of the least visited parts of GTA Online’s map. You can get it for a price of $1,465,000. This is a low price, which makes sense given its location in San Andreas.

Speaking of which, I do not recommend this location. It’s pretty far away from all three acts of the Doomsday Heists. Grinding the heists with this location would be time-consuming, and there really aren’t that many redeeming qualities for this spot. It’s cheap, sure, but there is a cheaper and better location than this one. The only saving grace for this spot is that getting it will reduce your chances of being bothered by other players due to its relatively isolated location.

7/9

Paleto Bay

Paleto Bay Facility

Onto our next spot, we have the Paleto Bay facility. This is a pretty niche location that is found in the northwest corner of the map, next to the small coastal town of Paleto Bay. You can acquire this facility for a price of $1,250,000. This makes it objectively the cheapest facility location in GTA 5 Online! It’s a great buy if you just want to do all of the Doomsday Heists once for completion’s sake.

However, given its location, it’s really only good for grinding Act II of the Doomsday Heist, which is located pretty close nearby. Act I and III will take you far away from Paleto Bay, but Act II is literally right next door. There are plenty of players that love to grind the second act of the Doomsday Heist, so if you think you want to be one of those players, then buy this location.

6/9

Sandy Shores

Sandy Shores Facility

Up next on our list, we have the facility location in Sandy Shores. This spot is located in Blaine County not too far away from the small town of Sandy Shores. Players looking to buy this location can expect to pay $2,740,000. This is a pretty steep price tag, and considering its location I don’t think it’s really worth getting compared to some of the other choices on this list.

This location is not that popular among players, and it’s in a more isolated part of the map. So if you are looking for a location where you are less likely to be bothered by other players, then this might be the location for you. The high price tag is the one thing that holds this location back. But if money is no object to you, then by all means grab it.

5/9

Zancudo River

Zancudo River Facility

Now onto our next spot, we have Zancudo River! This is a facility found next to the Zancudo River. Specifically, it is located in the center of the map. You can purchase this location for a total price of $2,100,000. This facility is pretty middle-of-the-road in terms of price. There are more expensive locations, but also much cheaper ones as well.

This is a pretty okay spot for a facility. The entrance for it is located down by the river and off of a cliff, so getting to it will take some off-roading. Because of its central location on the map, this is a good spot to get if you want to do all three of the Doomsday Heists. I don’t consider it to be as convenient as some of the other locations. But because of its price, this is a good facility to get for the price that you’re paying.

4/9

RON Alternatives Wind Farm

RON Alternatives Wind Farm - Fourth Best Facility in GTA 5 Online

Coming in at spot number 4, we have RON Alternatives Wind Farm! This is a location that can be found on the eastern side of the map, next to a road that connects Los Santos to Blaine County. It is located right underneath the RON Alternatives Wind Farm, which is a landmark you’ve definitely seen before if you have played GTA Online for a long period of time. This location costs exactly $1,855,000.

This is a pretty good spot if you are looking for something fairly cheap. It isn’t in the best spot in the game, but it’s also not in the worst spot either. One thing that I dislike about this location is that driving setup equipment/vehicles up the hill can be a bit of a pain. And exiting the facility and driving down the hill can be a little annoying as well. But despite these issues, it’s still a good spot for the price tag on it.

3/9

Lago Zancudo

Lago Zancudo - Third Best Facility in GTA 5 Online

For spot number 3 on this list of the best facility in GTA 5 Online, we have Lago Zancudo! This is a fairly popular location that can be found near the Zancudo military base. It is located next to some marshlands, but getting into the facility isn’t really difficult. This facility goes for a selling price of $1,670,000, making it INCREDIBLY cheap compared to our next top picks.

One nice thing about this spot is that–as previously mentioned–it’s near the military base. If you happen to own a hangar here, you can go there and get an aircraft if you need it. Or you can just steal a fighter jet, that works too. I recommend this spot if you are on a budget and just want to play each of the Doomsday Heists once. It’s in a pretty decent spot and very inexpensive.

2/9

Route 68

Route 68 - Second Best Facility in GTA 5 Online

Moving onto spot number 2, we have Route 68. This is a location that is found towards the center of the map, near the Bolingbroke Penitentiary. You can purchase it for a total price of $2,312,500. This makes it cheaper than the next location on our list. So if you want to save a little money for getting upgrades, buy this location. It’s fairly close to the highway nearby, which is convenient if you want to head to the city. It’s also pretty close to some of the best MC businesses in the game.

Given its central location, you can’t go wrong with this spot. It’s great if you plan on grinding all three of the Doomsday Heists instead of just focusing on a particular one. It’s in a slightly worse spot than our next location, but it is also about $200,000 less expensive. Really, it’s all down to personal preference whether or not you think the better spot is worth the extra money.

1/9

Grand Senora Desert

Grand Senora Desert - Best Facility in GTA 5 Online
Image: Rockstar North, Rockstar Games via HGG / Koby Gibson Ross

And last but not least, we have the Grand Senora Desert taking the top spot as the best facility in GTA 5 Online! As the name suggests, this facility can be found in the Grand Senora Desert. It will cost you exactly $2,525,000. It’s more expensive than the Route 68 location, but I’d say it’s worth the extra price. It is located close to a nearby airfield. From this airfield, you can call in a personal aircraft for you to take to another location. Sandy Shores isn’t too far away from this spot as well.

This is a really great all-around location that’s perfect if you plan on doing all three Doomsday Heists. It’s a jack-of-all-trades in terms of how close it is to each of the locations for these heists and their setup missions. And given the previously mentioned airfield located nearby, getting to each location is pretty easy when you are driving an aircraft.
