GTA Online: 10 Things We Want to See Added Before GTA VI

As GTA Online approaches its tenth anniversary, fans are clamoring for new content and eagerly making a wishlist of things we want added to the game. Despite the game’s age, Rockstar is still actively pushing out updates for it, which is a testament to how popular the IP is and just how determined they are to milk this cash cow dry. However, many fans are desperate for a new entry in the series and believe that GTA Online is overdue for its final update.

While I am just as desperate for a new GTA game, I think we may have to wait a while. If the recent leaks that GTA VI won’t be coming out until late 2024 are true, then that means GTA Online will be our only source of new content for at least another year. If that’s going to be the case, then it can’t hurt to ask Rockstar for a few key features that the game desperately needs.

Top 10 Things We Want to See Added to GTA Online

So while we wait for the next GTA game, why don’t we share with you our list of 10 Things We Want to See Added to GTA Online? We’ll work our way down to our number one wish.

Naval Themed DLC - 10 Things We Want in GTA Online

First up we have the long-requested naval-themed DLC! Most people are pretty vague with what they mean when they say they want a naval-themed DLC, so let me tell you what I think we should get. I would love it if we could get an update that added purchasable docks for us to store and upgrade our water vehicles. It would also be cool to add some kind of naval business. Maybe we could smuggle illegal goods over the waters and into Los Santos?

The closest thing we’ve ever gotten to a naval-themed DLC is the missions they added to the Superyacht. While they were fun, it didn’t exactly scratch that itch for naval-themed content.

More QoL Updates

More QoL Updates - 10 Things We Want in GTA Online

Quality of life updates are simple, but very welcome additions to GTA Online. We’ve seen certain things be added to the game in the past few DLCs, such as the ability to de-clutter your phone contacts and the ability to favorite radio stations, which have all made the game more enjoyable to play. But there are still many more QoL updates that Rockstar has yet to add to the game.

Firstly, it would be great if we had a way to search for our cars by name when selecting them before a race. If you have a bunch of cars, it can be a real pain to scroll through each individual car and select it before your 30 seconds runs out. I’d also love it if we could give our cars custom names so that finding the one we want when calling the mechanic is easier. Being able to instantly move a car from one garage to another would be nice as well.

These are just a few of the many things that Rockstar could add to the game.

PvP Rebalancing Update

PVP Rebalancing - 10 Things We Want in GTA Online

Next up on this ranking of the 10 Things We Want to See Added to GTA Online is a rebalancing update! Currently, the game is horribly under-balanced in many areas. Certain weapons and vehicles are so underpowered they are just not worth getting, even if you have the money. And speaking of money, there are many things in the game that are either overpriced or underpriced.

Rockstar needs to go through all the weapons and vehicles in the game and change them to be more balanced. The Oppressor Mk II is certainly in a better spot than it was a few years ago, but I think it needs a speed nerf (while its in the air) to encourage players to use other vehicles for getting around the map. Also, certain weapons in the game are also terribly underpowered. Overall, I’m just tired of feeling pressured to use only a few select guns and vehicles because they are the meta options.

Police-Themed DLC

One commonly requested update in GTA Online is a police-themed DLC. It would be really fun to join up with a corrupt LC police chief and help him purge the city of criminals in exchange for a fair day’s pay. This type of update would also be a great way to re-introduce the fan-favorite Cops & Crooks game mode from GTA IV!

Business Re-Works

Business Reworks - 10 Things We Want in GTA Online

During the Criminal Enterprises DLC, we got some much-needed re-works to a few of the existing businesses. And in the recent Drug Wars DLC, street dealers were added to the game, letting us sell some of our MC product solo. Rockstar should continue this trend and add even more improvements to the already existing businesses in the game.

For instance, make buying supplies for certain MC businesses cheaper. Document Forgery Office supplies should only cost $25,000 max, and weed farms should be around $35,000. Also, let us upgrade our MC vehicles so they’re faster and better for defense. The Arena Wars Garage also needs an overhaul. Make the payouts at LEAST 4x as big, the same for the reputation we earn. It would also be nice for our Import Export business to get a payout increase as well.

Michael DLC

Michael DLC - 10 Things We Want in GTA Online

Our GTA Online character has pulled off a heist with Trevor and worked alongside Franklin as a business partner. I think that before GTA Online ends we should get a DLC showing us what Michael has been up to all these years. I don’t want him to be involved in any heists, as the whole point of his arch in the single-player campaign was Michael finally putting his criminal past behind him.

Maybe we could partner up with him and open some kind of film studio business? Or, Rockstar could keep it simple and just let us do some contact missions for him. Regardless of what it is… I think we can all agree that it would be great to see Michael again one last time before GTA Online ends.

OG Heist & Doomsday Heist Re-Works

Old Heist Reworks - 10 Things We Want in GTA Online

The Cayo Perico and the Diamond Casino heists are some of the BEST heists in GTA history. It’s a shame then that the older heists of GTA Online have been forgotten due to how much more money the newer heists can make players. I think it would be great for Rockstar to go back and re-work these heists a bit so they are more enjoyable in 2023.

Let us do the set-ups in free roam. Add some quality-of-life improvements such as giving us more lives in the finale, and give us back the snacks/body armor we had before the last checkpoint when we die. Maybe they could add some optional set-up missions to do to make the finale easier? And hey, it can’t hurt to buff the payouts a bit!

Mansions

Mansions - 10 Things We Want in GTA Online

We’ve all wanted true mansions to be added to the game forever (those stilt houses in Vinewood Hills don’t count). Currently, there are many players in the game who own all the businesses and have tens of millions (some hundreds of millions) of dollars but not that much to spend on. Adding mansions–similar in size to the one Devin Weston has–would be a great way to show off your wealth to others.

There are already several mansions–both in the city and in the countryside–that Rockstar could use for this update, such as the Playboy Mansion. These mansions should have TONS of customization options. And they should allow us to do things like store large amounts of cars and maybe even a few aircraft. Sure they wouldn’t be that practical, but they’d still be a lot of fun to purchase and customize!

Better Anti-Cheat

If you’ve played a public lobby in GTA Online–especially on PC–then you will understand just how infested the game is with cheaters. The game does have anti-cheat software… but it just doesn’t cut it. The game is still riddled with god-mode users that will grief you without hesitation. Some people even argue that the game is unplayable on PC. Rockstar needs to implement a better anti-cheat system so that we can enjoy the game in peace. It probably won’t happen, but a man can dream, can’t he?

One Final Heist

One Final Heist - 10 Things We Want in GTA Online

I’ll be honest with you, I actually don’t want them to add another heist to the game. I would prefer that they save any ideas they have for GTA VI’s online mode. Not to mention we already have the Cayo Perico heist, which is going to be hard to outperform. However, I still wanted to mention this, as it’s a popular fan request. Not to mention, it would make a kick-ass final update for GTA Online.

It would be cool to get another map expansion of some kind. Maybe we could go back to Liberty City? Or we could go to one of the other cities in GTA: San Andreas, such as San Fierro or Las Venturas? It is a little odd that we’ve never gotten a map expansion to either of those cities. They are located in San Andreas just like Los Santos is, after all. But regardless of where it takes place… one final score would be a really great way for our GTA Online characters to end a decade-long criminal career.
