Grand Theft Auto Online may be best known for its street racers and supercars, but you’re missing out big time if you’ve never driven an off-roader across Blaine County. The game features a huge variety of different off-road vehicles, from trucks to dirt-bikes to ATVs and everything in-between. In this article, we’ll be going over five of the best off-roading cars in GTA Online!
We’re just going to be focusing on the best and most useful cars in this category. Whether you enjoy using them for races, getting across the map, or just good old-fashioned off-roading, you’re sure to find some useful information here.

Without further ado, let’s get started.
5/5
Cheval Marshall
Let’s start off our list with something fun. The Cheval Marshall is definitely not the fastest or the most useful off-road car in GTA Online, but it sure as Hell is fun to use. It’s a big monster truck that absolutely CRUSHES any and all cars beneath it when driving down the streets of Los Santos.
This truck is best for messing around with your friends and causing chaos. One of my favorite things to do with monster trucks is to get a high wanted level and drive around the city crushing police cars beneath my wheels. This is also fun to do in GTA V, too.
I’ve seen other players get some enjoyment from using it to troll, such as by driving to car meets and running over the other vehicles. It’s not exactly nice to do, but you do you!
Sadly, this vehicle is too big to fit into a Los Santos Customs. When purchasing it from Warstock Cache & Carry, you can choose from twenty-five different “themes” that are centered around a different country. The one I picked gave me an Irish flag on the back, with a green paint job and dual orange strips.
4/5
BF Ramp Buggy
Another fun one, our next pick on this list for the best off-roading cars in GTA V is the BF Ramp Buggy. This is a special vehicle that has the ability to drive underneath cars and send them flying through the air at high speeds! In order to buy this unique vehicle, you first need to become a CEO and purchase a vehicle warehouse to store it at.
This car is great for going on rampages, outrunning police, and trolling your friends. I can’t tell you how satisfying it is to drive this car through heavy Los Santos traffic and watch as car after car goes flying behind you. This vehicle has the added bonus of letting you more easily escape the police, as they have a habit to drive straight at you to try and run you off the road.
Sadly, this car doesn’t feature much in the way of customization. You can respray it and change the color of the tire smoke, but you can’t add any liveries or change the rims. And even if you change the color on it, that doesn’t take away the rough and worn-out texture.
3/5
Canis Kamacho
Starting our top three countdown, let’s take a second to take about the Canis Kamacho! This is one of the fastest (and best-looking) trucks in the entire game. It makes an excellent choice for all off-road enthusiasts. It’s also the cheapest ride on this list, which makes it a great pick for players that are low on cash.
Choose this truck for racing and getting around the map. According to YouTuber Broughy1322, this truck clocks in at a top speed of 116.75 MPH. It also features decent acceleration and handling for a vehicle of its class. This is also one of the best-looking trucks in my opinion and makes a great way to get around the map in style.
This was one of the most enjoyable vehicles to customize. There are plenty of different options for you to swap out and change, from the hood to the side doors. The Kamacho features several great retro liveries, especially the Go Fast Fade, which places three yellow, orange, and red stripes on either side.
2/5
Maxwell Vagrant
Now we’ve arrived at number two on our feature for the best off-roading cars in GTA V. Let’s take a look at the one and only buggy on this list — the Maxwell Vagrant. I would consider owning a buggy to be a must for regular GTA Online players! They are some of the best vehicles to take on off-roading trips.
Buggies are great for off-roading and racing. This ride can clock in at a top speed of 122.50 MPH. This makes it the speediest buggy in the entire game! Its acceleration and handling are great too. Overall, it is a fast and fairly easy to control vehicle sure to win you some off-roading races.
Sadly, the only liveries available for this buggy are camos. These camos can only be placed on the hood and part of the back of the car. The rest of the customization options are more or less what you’d expect from normal GTA Online customization. You can put a spare wheel and some roof-mounted lights on it, which is pretty cool.
1/5
Insurgent Pick-Up
What better way to end off our list than with one of the most useful vehicles in not only the off-road category, but the entire game? The Insurgent Pick-Up is a militarized armored vehicle with a mounted turret. It is incredibly useful in several areas and is one of the best vehicles to use with friends.
What is it best used for? PvP, PvE, old-school heists, contact missions, and getting around the map safely. On its own, the Insurgent Pick-Up is an armored car that can tank several rocket hits. This makes it effective for getting around the map without fear of being griefed. If you happen to have a friend with you, they can mount the turret and cause some havoc against enemy NPCs and other players alike.
If you enjoy playing contact missions or some of the older heists, you can bring this vehicle with you to complete them. This makes completing these missions a lot easier since most of them haven’t been properly balanced to fit in with the “newer” vehicles.
Once converted into the Insurgent Pick-Up custom, players are free to customize this vehicle any way they please. It can be outfitted with one of several military-themed liveries unlocked from Researching. It can also be upgraded to use proximity mines, and feature more armor-plating around its windows!
