The Best Ziggs Skins in League of Legends, Ranked

Ziggs may be Yordle-sized, but there’s a whole lot to love about him — including his mind-blowing skins!

Ziggs may be Yordle-sized, but there’s a whole lot to love about him. His voice lines are iconic, his playstyle is quite literally explosive, and his damage is sure to blow any mechanically weak player out of the Rift (and down the ranked ladder).

And another thing Ziggs is known for? Having a wide array of flashy skins that allow you to obliterate your enemies in a whole range of exciting ways, some of which are downright hilarious (ahem, Snow Day Ziggs). I’ll rank ‘em all from worst to best below, considering each skin’s price, character model, splash art, and animations.

#11 Major Ziggs

  • Release Date: February 1, 2012
  • Cost: 975 RP

A lot of champions have some pretty… nightmare-inducing skins that make you question Riot’s design choices. Ziggs is actually one of the few champions who doesn’t have any seriously bad skins. Even Major Ziggs, the skin I’m putting in the last spot, is decent considering the price.

The skin essentially turns Ziggs into a tiny, chaotic war general (clearly a reference to Napoleon). Sure, it’s simple and you don’t get any flashy animations, but the overall look is well-executed and hilarious. My only complaint? The splash art is a little underwhelming and does show its age.

#10 Hextech Ziggs

  • Release Date: September 3, 2020
  • Cost: 100 to 150 Mythic Essence

Hextech Ziggs gives me steampunk Willy Wonka vibes. It’s fun, quirky, and his moustache is absolutely glorious — even Braum would be jealous. Plus, the actual purple color palette suits Ziggs and his bombs insanely well.

However, I do find the animations a bit underwhelming. They don’t really capture the explosive nature of Ziggs’ kit. So, with that in mind, and considering the extortionate price tag, I’m allocating Hextech Ziggs the number 10 spot.

#9 BZZZiggs

  • Release Date: March 3, 2022
  • Cost: 1350 RP

The bee-themed skins are known for being completely adorable — Beemo, Bee’Maw, Yuubee, to name a few. Unfortunately, BZZZiggs didn’t exactly get the memo. I honestly find the character model kind of horrifying. It’s like Ziggs… but Ziggs as a fluffy, yellow alien. It just doesn’t really work for me.

But if you can look past the character model (or even find it cute)? The animations are extremely adorable, with a whole load of flowers, buzzin’ bees, and honey goodness.

#8 Mad Scientist Ziggs

  • Release Date: February 1, 2012
  • Cost: 975 RP

Thought Singed look mad? Well, you haven’t seen anything — Mad Scientist Ziggs honestly makes Singed look sane. The character model is, well, absolutely bonkers, from his manic smile to the oversized goggles. And instead of bombs, he now throws vials of green gunk at his enemies.

My only complaint? They didn’t change the W TNT attack animation. Unfortunately, it doesn’t exactly fit with the whole mad scientist theme.

#7 Snow Day Ziggs

  • Release Date: December 14, 2012
  • Cost: 975 RP

Snow Day Ziggs is a snug skin. And by that, I mean it literally makes you feel comfy while you bomb–ahem, snowball down enemies; I’m talking hot chocolate, padded coats, fluffy trapper hats, the lot. It’s the perfect skin for the winter season (and any other time you want some sense of comfort after being flamed by your teammates).

To top it off? You now get to carry around your own Olaf-like companion. Sure, it isn’t as cute… but it is something we can all appreciate.

#6 Pool Party Ziggs

  • Release Date: September 4, 2012
  • Cost: 1350 RP

Pool Party Ziggs is the definition of splashtastic fun! It’s essentially Ziggs wearing pool attire, including blue flippers and a duck swim ring, and taunting his enemies with smiling water balloon bombs. It’s truly the perfect skin to destroy your opponent’s mental.

My only “gripe” is that the pool-themed sound effects aren’t the most practical in ranked play, but let’s be real: You would only ever use this skin if you were a filthy casual anyway.

#5 Sugar Rush Ziggs

  • Release Date: December 17, 2019
  • Cost: 1350 RP

I’m not usually a fan of candy-themed skins, but Sugar Rush Ziggs is an exception. The overall look is extremely well done and packed with creativity. Ziggs’ character model is now made up of sweet treats and his attack animations are a bunch of delectable delights, from gateau slices to strawberry jello.

The sound effects are a bit… unusual, to say the least, but they’re actually distinct and easy to hear in the heat of battle. Plus, the recall scene is just downright hilarious.

#4 Odyssey Ziggs

  • Release Date: September 12, 2018
  • Cost: 1350 RP

Odyssey Ziggs is a skin that clearly takes inspiration from Ratchet & Clank, and it delivers on all fronts. The character model is bright and fun, with a total MC look, and the animations are equally impressive — the ultimate literally blows your enemies out of this world.

But the main reason why I’ve put Odyssey above the likes of Sugar Rush and Mad Scientist? The splash art has to be one of my all-time favorites. The pose, the colors, the explosive backdrop, I love it all. It makes Ziggs look like he came straight out of an action movie.

#3 La Ilusion Ziggs

  • Release Date: September 27, 2023
  • Cost: 1350 RP

Okay. If you’re obsessed with details — and I mean seriously obsessed — this skin will be right up your alley. It isn’t just Ziggs’ most detailed skin; it’s one of the most detailed skins in the whole entire game. The character model is absolutely gorgeous and packed with interesting shapes, textures, patterns, features, and colors. Even the animations are intricate — they turn the Rift into an art exhibition.

Top it off, this skin comes with plenty of chromas to explore, with each switching up the color scheme and introducing a unique skull pattern. So, you certainly won’t ever get bored of this skin.

#2 Battle Boss Ziggs

  • Release Date: August 8, 2017
  • Cost: 1350 RP

This skin turns Ziggs into the most iconic Arcade villain ever. He’s now a pixelated, purple mecha cat with a virtual green crown (which he no doubt uses to flex on his opponents).

But the reason why I’m giving Battle Boss Ziggs the number two spot isn’t because of the creative character model; it’s actually because of the animations. They’re extremely polished, distinct, and packed with pixellated, colorful goodness.

Plus, the ultimate explosion is honestly blinding and can genuinely hinder your opponent’s field of view (#pay2win).

#1 Master Arcanist Ziggs

  • Release Date: May 6, 2015
  • Cost: 1350 RP

Let’s be real: You knew this was coming. It would be an insult to Ziggs, and everything he stands for, to not put Master Arcanist at the number one spot. It truly honors Ziggs lore, his playstyle, AND his personality while making him look equally hilarious and badass. Riot has managed to achieve all this in just one skin without it looking like a total mess. So in short: it’s nothing but a masterpiece.

Plus, Ziggs as Gandalf — ahem, an elderly wizard with a magnificent beard — is fun to play with and impossible to get tired of. The character model is also packed with fun references any veteran can appreciate (shoutout to Rabadon’s Death Cap).

My only gripe is that Riot didn’t release this skin sooner. I feel for the veteran Ziggs OTPs.
