#6 Battlecast Vel’Koz

Battlecast was Vel’Koz’s first ever skin. While I do love the dystopian, mechanical feel the skin has — and that robotic voice filter is much appreciated — the character model does sadly show its age. The overall look is clunky, dull, and doesn’t feel as badass as other skins in the Battlecast line. Plus, it’s not exactly a bargain at 1350 RP.

#5 Blackfrost Vel’Koz

• Release Date: April 15, 2021
• Cost: 1350 RP

Blackfrost Vel’Koz has an ethereal, otherworldly vibe…. And it kinda reminds me of a lava lamp. That’s not an insult though — lava lamps are mesmerizing to look at, and Blackfrost Vel’Koz has that exact same effect! I also absolutely love the frosty armor and the new swanky purple gem above Vel’Koz’s eye.

My only gripe? The tentacles are a bit too smooth for my liking. They feel out of place when every other element has a sharp, jagged texture. 

#4 Arclight Vel’Koz

• Release Date: January 28, 2015
• Cost: 1350 RP

Arclight Vel’Koz doesn’t have the most creative character model out there, but it’s a well-polished skin with an elegant Piltover-inspired flair. The skin also has something that no other Vel’Koz skin has: a pay2win aspect. Yup, the attack animations on this skin are much more subtle than others, making it well-suited to those serious about their ranked venture.

#2 Infernal Vel’Koz 

• Release Date: July 16, 2020
• Cost: 1350 RP

Infernal Vel’Koz looks like he came straight out of the pits of hell, and I’m here for it! The skin is fierce, scorching hot, and packed with a whole load of badass flames and metallic armor. The animations are equally impressive and you can truly feel the oomph (and sizzle) behind every attack, with your ultimate now being a beam of pure fire and madness.

But the main reason why Infernal Vel’Koz is beating the likes of Blackfrost and Arclight? The fact that he’s now rocking the Eye of Sauron. I mean, just look at the eye design — the resemblance is uncanny.

#1 Bee’Koz

• Release Date: November 22, 2023
• Cost: 1350 RP

This skin really shouldn’t work, to say the least, but it does (and it’s a total masterpiece). Imagining Vel’Koz, a champion hellbent on destroying the entire universe, as a fluffy bumblebee who sprinkles flowers and honey wherever he goes is pure comedy genius. 

And yes, it’s insanely adorable and makes me want to skip through the Rift while slaying enemies with a good ol’ beam of honey. Plus, the recall looks like a scene from a Pixar movie.
