Best Skins for Zac in League of Legends, Ranked

Give Zac (aka the blob of green gloop) the glow up he has always deserved with one of these skins!

Zac is one of the most reliable ganking junglers in League of Legends. However, while he’ll certainly make your ranked climb easy, his appearance isn’t exactly easy on the eye. After all, he’s pretty much just a blob of green gloop. And yes, he does look like he escaped from the Ghostbusters universe.

But luckily for Zac mains, Riot has given him some pretty swanky skins over the years.

I’ll be ranking all of Zac’s skins from worst to best, giving you an idea of which ones are worth your buck.

Let’s dive in!

#5 SKT T1 Zac

  • Release Date: June 27, 2017
  • Cost: 1350 RP

Like many LoL players out there, I absolutely adore SKT and love watching Faker’s stellar outplays. However, even my love for SKT can’t redeem this skin — it’s dull, underwhelming, and doesn’t honor SKT or the esports industry in the slightest. In fact, it kind of looks like Zac is wearing a budget Pantheon cosplay…

That said, I do love the subtle details on the gauntlets and their gold, shiny look. But at 1350 RP? This skin is a hard pass.

#4 Special Weapon Zac

  • Release Date: March 29, 2013
  • Cost: 975 RP

From the splash art, Special Weapon Zac looks like a skin you wouldn’t give a second glance to. However, the in-game character model actually exceeds all expectations. It retains Zac’s champion identity while giving him an extra sinister look, with a menacing expression, red eyes, and a whole load of spikes.

While you don’t get any super fancy particle effects, your attack animations now spawn up some interesting tentacles and there is a new recall that’s pure comedy material. Plus, the purple color suits Zac surprisingly well and the skin is easy on the budget.

#3 Battlecast Zac

  • Release Date: November 12, 2020
  • Cost: 1350 RP

This skin turns Zac from a literal ball of slime into a battle-hardened robotic entity, so it’s no surprise that the result is pretty impressive. It truly gives Zac a “tough as nails” look, and his whole body is also now empowered by flames (and probably his wrath too, from the looks of that facial expression).

While the sound effects are pretty basic, the attack animations feel slick, are packed with explosive energy, and have a neat cybernetic appearance. The recall is also incredibly unique and mesmerizing to watch.

Sure, Battlecast Zac may not be mindblowing, but it is a well-executed skin for a reasonable price. Plus, this skin comes with plenty of chromas to choose from and a visually impressive splash art to admire while you load into your games.

#2 Pool Party Zac

  • Release Date: June 25, 2015
  • Cost: 1350 RP

Let’s be real: Zac was always destined to get a Pool Party skin. The theme, the sound effects, the colors — everything suits Zac’s champion insanely well. And when Riot finally gave into fate and blessed us with Pool Party Zac? It became one of the best skins of its time.

The skin gives Zac a totally splashtastic makeover, turning his green gloopy body into watery goodness, and every single element feels polished and fun. There are plenty of hilarious aspects to the skin too, like the rubber ducks that spawn while he attacks, and the fact his battle gear is now just swimming trunks and a snorkel.

But the reason why Pool Party Zac is truly worthy of the number 2 spot? The sound effects. They’re incredibly entertaining without being annoying, and they’re sure to leave your enemies smashing their keyboards whenever you ace them with a clean, bubbly gank.

#1 Empyrean Zac

  • Release Date: November 3, 2022
  • Cost: 1350 RP

Pool Party Zac is the best skin if you want to keep things lighthearted. But if you want to feel like a total badass while you slay enemy after enemy? Then Empyrean Zac has got you covered.

The skin transforms Zac into a Venom-esque villain, with a whole load of flashy particle effects and iridescent hues. The attack animations are insanely clean, every sound effect is distinct, and the recall has a colorful, groovy vibe to it.

Plus, it’s by far Zac’s most visually-impressive character model — there are so many intricate details, that you end up finding more every time you look at it. The details are also clear enough to spot (and appreciate) even when you’re zoomed out.

All in all, it’s not an over-exaggeration to call Empyrean a masterpiece. It truly levels up Zac’s one-dimensional look and is sure to bring a splash of color (and kickassery) to your ranked games.
