The Techrot Encore update has brought music to the streets of Höllvania. Temple, armed with his sentient guitar Lizzie, melts through Scaldra with ease. Releasing with sick tunes and a stylish Gemini skin in Flare Varleon, Temple is not a Warframe you should skip.
If you’ve been wondering how to build Temple to breeze through Steel Path, then look no further. In this guide, I’ll be going through everything you need to know about Temple and his kit.
Temple Build Overview
Stats
- Health: 405 (505 at rank 30)
- Shields: 225 (325 at rank 30)
- Armor: 325
- Energy: 165 (215 at rank 30)
Temple’s got a pretty decent stat spread. The only real sore spot is the low-energy pool, a problem easily solved with certain mods.
Passive
When Temple uses an ability on the Backbeat of his metronome (the central zone on the metronome), those abilities are buffed while providing increased Ability Efficiency for the ability cast and fueling Lizzie.
- Pyrotechnics: 2x additional flame pillars created
- Overdrive: 2x Critical Chance vulnerability.
- Rippers Wail: 4-second invulnerability duration.
- Exalted Solo: Energy cost reduced to 0.
Abilities
Pyrotechnics (1st Ability)
Temple plays their guitar causing pillars of flame to erupt underneath enemies. Each pillar deals Heat damage with a 100% Status Chance.
While not as powerful as Exalted Solo, Pyrotechnics is nothing to sneeze at in terms of damage. The main use of this ability however is to increase the duration of Ripper’s Wail to keep its buffs going by activating it on the Backbeat.
Overdrive (2nd Ability)
Temple summons two flying speakers and blasts any enemies in a cone in front of them. Enemies hit wince in pain for 2 seconds, receive Heat damage, and are inflicted with Critical Chance Vulnerability.
An excellent ability that does its namesake and overdrives a lot of Temples kit. Its ability to inflict Critical Chance vulnerability means hitting red crits with Temple is a breeze. Just like Pyrotechnics, activating this ability on the Backbeat extends the duration of Ripper’s Wail which Temple always wants active.
Ripper’s Wail (3rd Ability)
Temple stops to shred their guitar, becoming invulnerable and restoring their health and shields. When finished, Temple is imbued with bonus Heat damage and shares this damage with allies in Affinity Range.
One of Temples’s best abilities, Ripper’s Wail is a buff that we want to keep active the entire mission. Not only does it increase our damage significantly, but activating Pyrotechnics and Overdrive on the Backbeat will increase the Heat damage applied by Ripper’s Wail.
Exalted Solo (4th Ability)
Temple summons his sentient guitar flamethrower, Lizzie. Lizzie has her own unique stats and the ability to switch which element she fires while aiming between Viral, Magnetic, Cold, and Corrosive.
Temple’s Exalted Weapon, Lizzie can easily destroy any enemy put in front of her. Not only can you mod her like a regular primary weapon, but she also relies on fuel provided by Temple’s first two abilities. That means we don’t have to worry about bleeding energy when using her.
How to Get Temple
All of Temple’s blueprints can be acquired from Stage Defense in Höllvania after reaching Rank 4 with the Hex Syndicate. Luckily for those unlucky players who can’t get the blueprints to drop, there’s a mercy system.
Playing Stage Defense awards players Beating Heartstrings which can be traded to Flare in the Höllvania Mall for their blueprints.
Caustic Chords Best Temple Build
The focus for this build is nice and simple. We’ll be building Temple and Lizzie to deal high-status damage using multiple status types with enough energy to use our 1st and 2nd abilities to continue the Ripper’s Wail buff.
Mod Choice
The mod choice for this build is as follows:
- Blind Rage: Power strength translates directly to more damage for Exalted Solo so we want a decent amount of Power Strength before we start adding mods to Lizzie.
- Transient Fortitude: More Power Strength for the same reasons as above. We take a hit to our Duration, but it won’t affect us too badly.
- Primed Flow: We want a decent Energy pool for Temple so we can continue to cast our 1st and 2nd abilities. Primed Flow will help us do that.
- Equilibrium: This is my go-to mod for ensuring I don’t run out of energy during a mission. We grab this for the same reason as Primed Flow. We want to make sure we have enough energy for our abilities.
- Stretch: We grab this mod to increase the range of our first two abilities. This will make it easier to keep our Ripper’s Wail buff active since we need to hit enemies with these abilities for the buff to be extended.
- Adaption: I choose Adaption as my go-to survival mod. This will keep you safe long enough to use Ripper’s Wail to heal yourself if you need it. This can be replaced with a mod like Catalyzing Shields if you want to focus on shield gating.
- Archon Continuity: Arguably the most important mod of this build, Archon Continuity will allow us to proc Corrosive whenever we proc Toxin status as well as increase our Duration. This will help melt armor and deal a ton of damage.
- Archon Vitality: The second most important mod in this build. Since all of Temples’s abilities do fire damage, doubling it means doubling our damage output. The bonus to health is just icing on the cake.
Lizzie Mod Choice
The mod choice for Temple’s Exalted Weapon Lizzie is as follows:
- Galvanized Aptitude: We want Status Chance for Lizzie to increase our damage. This will do that while also increasing our damage per status type affecting the target, which is big.
- Galvanized Chamber: Multishot is an excellent tool for increasing our damage even more, and no mod is better at this than Galvanized Chamber.
- Malignant Force: We want Lizzie doing at least some Toxin damage to activate Archon Continuity. This mod gives us that while also giving us some extra Status Chance. Just make sure its place in your mods window so it isn’t fusing with Lizzie’s innate fire damage.
- Hellfire: We need to put an extra element on Lizzie so Malignant Force can continue to do Toxin damage. We use this mod to help us do Blast damage and work off of Lizzie’s innate fire damage.
- Rime Rounds: We use this mod to help us add Blast to Lizzie.
- Critical Delay: Lizzie has some decent critical chance so we grab this mod to make it even better.
- Vile Acceleration: The more fire we can shoot, the more damage we do. Simple as that.
- Rifle Elementalist: This mod slot can be used for any mod you might need or want. I choose Rifle Elementalist to increase my Status Damage, but you can choose whatever you want.
Arcane Choice
- Molt Augmented: This is an easy choice for Temple. We want as much Power Strength as we can get, and this will help us get even more.
- Arcane Hot Shot: Another easy choice for Temple. Since we’ll be doing Heat damage all the time, this arcane essentially gives us a free bonus to weapon critical chance.
Helminth Abilities
Unlike most Warframes that have an ability or two that can be switched out, there are no abilities that Temple has that I would recommend subsuming. Their kit works so well that you should just leave it as is.
Weapons & Gear
In this build, you’ll mostly be using Lizzie to tear through your enemies. Anything else is just for personal preference.
