Warframe’s Whispers in the Wall quest revealed more than Entrati’s Laboratories and his secrets. It also gave players the Grimoire; Albrecht Entrati’s diary turned eldritch tome. With the Grimoire came new Tome mods that can provide unique buffs to the player. In this guide, I’ll be going over every Tome mod, what they do, and how they get them.

What are Tome Mods?

Tome mods are Exilus Weapon Mods unique to the Grimoire that provide a variety of buffs to the player. These mods come in two versions: Invocation mods and Canticle mods.

While Canticle and Invocation mods can be used together and with other Secondary Weapon mods, you cannot use multiple Invocation and Canticle mods together.

How to Get Tome Mods

Every Tome mod can be farmed from the node Munio, Deimos which is unlocked after progressing through the Whispers in the Wall questline. The mods only drop on Rotation C with a measly 5% drop chance, so it may take some time to get all the mods you want.

Canticle Mods

Invocation Mods

How to Use Tome Mods

What makes the Tome mods so great is that it takes a fairly underwhelming weapon, into an excellent buffer. As you can see from reading the effects of the Tome mods, none of them directly increase the strength of the Grimoire itself, they all focus on providing benefits to the player and their team.

When modding the Grimoire, don’t build it for damage dealing, but for buffing. That means ensuring your Grimoire can hit multiple enemies quickly to prime them for the buffs since Tome mods with on-kill conditions don’t need the Grimoire to make the killing blow.
