The Best Warframes for Focus Farming

Train in the schools of the Tenno!

Warframe is a game all about farming. Resources, credits, and Warframes themselves all make the list. With so many things to farm for, we want to ensure we’re as efficient as possible. This is especially true when Focus farming since there’s so much to farm for.

That means we want to choose the best Warframe so we can hit our daily limits as fast as possible, which we’ll go over in this guide.

The Warframes below are ranked in no particular order.

How to Gain Focus

To begin gaining Focus, players must first complete The War Within and unlock the ability to perform Transference. After that, we need to get a Focus Lens and place it on a max-level Warframe or Weapon to begin gaining Focus. There are different tiers and types of Lens that determine what school of Focus you get and how much you get.

To maximize the amount of Focus we get we want to get a Lua Lens which grants us the best bonus when we gain Focus. Since Warframe abilities grant 100% Focus, the Warframes making this list will be nuke ‘Frames that can clear rooms quickly.

Saryn

The first Warframe to make this list is Saryn, for obvious reasons. Getting her kit going means Saryn can ramp up damage incredibly quickly, the end result being an entire room of enemies falling to your spores in seconds.

Since Saryn’s Spores ability will be our primary way of killing enemies, we want to build her to make Spores her primary focus. This means building for Range to make sure our Spores can spread all over the tileset. After that, we focus on Strength and Duration to increase the damage dealt to enemies and slow the decay rate of our Spores.

Gara

Gara is another Warframe that can ramp up her damage to make killing groups of enemies trivial. This is because of her ability, Splinter Storm. When activating it creates an area around Gara that deals damage to enemies. Subsequently, casting Mass Vitrify refreshes the duration of the ability. Destroying the barrier created by Mass Vitrify with Shattered Lash will then increase Splinter Storm’s damage until the duration runs out.

This combo can be repeated indefinitely as long as you have enough energy to cast Mass Vitrify and then Shattered Lash, meaning Splinter Storm has no damage ceiling. Spend a couple of minutes powering this up in a mission and you can reach devastating levels of damage easily.

Much like Saryn, we want to focus on Range first to make sure our Splinter Storm can reach a large number of enemies. Next, we want to focus on Duration so we don’t have to recast her abilities too often and Strength to increase Splinter Storm’s initial damage.

Mesa

Not many Warframe can clear a room as fast as Mesa. It’s fitting that the cowboy-themed Warframe would be quick on the draw, and Mesa’s Peacemakers make quick work of anyone standing in front of you.

Preparing Mesa for Focus farming is fairly easy since she comes out of the gate pretty strong. Build her with enough Duration and Efficiency to lower the energy drain of Peacemaker. Then you just need Power Strength to increase the damage of Peacemaker.

The real meat of her damage is going to come from how you build the Regulators, her exalted weapons. Make sure you build it for multishot, critical chance, and damage to take enemies down quickly. Putting an element like Corrosive on to lower enemy armor, or Viral will speed things up as well.

Equinox

Next on the list is one of the original Focus farmers when the system was first introduced. As it is, both her Day form and Night form have ways to gather Focus easily.

In her Day form your focus is on Maim, her fourth ability. Much like Gara, there is no damage ceiling for Maim which is how we’re going to nuke rooms. Build up a lot of damage and then pop her fourth move to clear everyone else out. Building for Range, Duration, and Power Strength. It would also benefit you to grab an ability from Helminth that can strip armor like Terrify.

For her Night Form, we’re focusing more on stealth farming with her second ability Rest. This ability puts enemies to sleep allowing you to finish them off and acquire the stealth affinity bonus which awards double affinity. Build for Range and Duration to ensure you can put a lot of enemies to sleep for a long time.

Ember

Ember is a great Warframe for Focus farming because she’s primarily a caster ‘Frame meaning she loves taking enemies out with her abilities. And since 100% of Focus transfers from Warframe abilities, this is perfect.

Building Ember for nuking is pretty straightforward. We want Ability Strength to make sure our attacks pack a punch. After that we want Range so our fourth ability Inferno can hit as many people as possible. Finally, we want a little Efficiency so we can keep casting without running out of Energy too quickly.
