When reaching the endgame in Warframe, you’ll quickly learn that it’s a different beast than the walk in the park that was filling out the star chart. While enough Forma can make any weapon or warframe viable, mods and build synergy will determine success and failure. This is where Galvanized mods come into play.
In this guide, I’m going to go over what Galvanized mods are, where you can get them, and how you can use them.
What are Galvanized Mods?
Galvanized mods are alternative versions of existing weapon mods that have been in the game for years. While having slightly lower base stats compared to their non galvanized version, these mods come with additional, powerful buffs.
Although Galvanized mods have higher capacity costs and require significantly more Endo to max out, they are incredibly worth it depending on your build. And just like other mods in Warframe, they can’t be slotted with mods providing similar effects.
How to Get Galvanized Mods
Now that we know what Galvanized mods are, we get to the next best part; how to get them. Luckily, Galvanized mods are incredibly easy to get compared to other power mods.
To get these mods all you need to do is finish out the star chart. That means every mission on every planet, and all the post-New War content and the mission nodes that come with them.
After that, you’ll gain access to a special alert called Arbitrations. These are high-level versions of elite endless missions. Only a rank 30 Warframe or player with Mastery Rank 30 with a Warframe who’s been polarized at least once can play Arbitration missions. Each mission also has a buff that empowers a random warframe and weapon to make it a little easier.
While completing Arbitration missions you’ll unlock a resource called Vitus Essence that can then be used to purchase the Galvanized mods from the Arbitration vendor in the Arbiters of Hexis room at any relay.

Now that we know what Galvanized mods are and how to get them, let’s look at all the mods and what they do:

How to Use Galvanized Mods
With the high energy cost, Galvanized mods are not as simple to use as normal mods. You need to know exactly what you want to do or you’ll come out with a weaker weapon than before. Thankfully the Galvanized mods are split up between different types which makes it easier to understand how best to use them.
Multishot
The multishot mods (Galvanized Chamber, Galvanized Hell, and Galvanized Diffusion), are only useful on weapons that you actually plan on getting kills with. While it may seem obvious, the on-kill effect is useless if you don’t get the kills with the weapon.
That means skipping these mods on builds that focus more on kills with warframe abilities or other means. The main exception is Mesa and her Regulator Pistols which can use pistol mods to empower her 4th ability.
Status Chance
The status chance mods are probably the most difficult to use effectively of the bunch. You should use these mods if you have a separate weapon that acts as a status primer, spreading status effects before finishing them off with another weapon. This would maximize the damage you get with the mods. Otherwise, the Galvanized status mods are just using up mod energy.
Critical Chance
While seeming initially overpowered, the necessity to get headshot kills to activate the buff is what balances out these classes of mods. Simply put, only use these mods if you can reliably get headshot kills with the weapon, which is hard to do when playing with other players.
Range
With the only Galvanized mod belonging to shotguns, it’s pretty easy to tell whether or not to use this mod. If you plan on primarily getting kills with your shotgun, and you want to be effective at longer range, then use this mod. I wouldn’t say it’s as gaming-changing as the other mods, but it’s nice to have if you have nothing else to put.
