Warframe: The Best Broken War Build – Stalker’s Bane

Turn the tables.

Nothing says total victory like taking your enemy’s weapon, and then using it against them. Luckily in Warframe, the Tenno make it a habit to get their hands on any weapons in the galaxy. This is how we got the Broken War, a blade used to literally stab us in the chest.

If you’ve been wondering how to build the Broken War, then look no further. In this guide, we’ll be going over the best build for the Broken War. Beware slight spoilers for The Second Dream quest.

Acquisition

Chances are, if you’re going through Warframe’s quests, you already have the Broken War. If not, then you need to complete The Second Dream quest and you’ll get it fully built with a weapon slot and already installed Orokin Catalyst to boot.

If for whatever reason you lost your Broken War, or you want a second one to create the War, you can farm the blueprint from the Shadow Stalker and its parts from the Conculyst, Ortholyst, Summulyst, and Aerolyst Sentient enemies. Alternatively, the hilt and blade can be bought from Cephalon Simaris or traded from other players.

Stats

Despite being a broken weapon, the Broken War is nothing to sneeze at. This weapon is a crit machine with one of the highest crit chance values for any sword in the game and a pretty high crit multiplier.

Stalker’s Bane: Best Broken War Build

This build will focus on enhancing the already high critical stats of this weapon. This will make it capable of taking down the Stalker and all his Acolytes whenever they show up, even on Steel Path.

Mods

The mods for this build are as follows:

  • Sacrificial Steel: As I mentioned before, we are using this build to enhance the crit stats of the Broken War, so we take Sacrificial Steel to increase our crit chance.
  • Organ Shatter: Since our crit chance is so high we want high crit damage as well. Organ Shatter will help with that.
  • Blood Rush: This mod will give us more critical chances per combo counter. This will help us easily reach red crit territory with ease.
  • Gladiator Might: We grab this mod for more critical damage just like Organ Shatter.
  • Primed Pressure Point: Since the Broken War doesn’t have the highest damage value, we grab this mod to boost our base damage a bit.
  • Condition Overload: This mod will be very important for boosting our melee damage significantly when we apply status’.
  • Element Mod: The element mod we choose will change depending on who we’re fighting so choose whoever you need for the mission. Alternatively, you can swap this out for another mod if you have the space for it.
  • Weeping Wounds: This will help with the Broken War’s low Status Chance. This will be very useful if you decide to add an element mod.

Arcanes

  • Melee Duplicate: This Arcane doubles your attack on every base critical hit. Since we’ll be getting a lot of criticals this Arcane is a bit of a no-brainer. Double the attacks are always good.
  • Melee Fortification: If you’re using a Warframe that isn’t particularly tanky, Melee Fortification can help by adding up to 210 Armor on melee kill.

Gear

Since we’re using Condition Overload on this build, we need some way to spread Status Effects quickly to get the damage bonus. While a typical Status Primer will work fine, I prefer to use the Diriga drone so I don’t have to keep switching weapons.

Giving your Diriga the Arc Coil and Manifold Bond will allow its special move to spread Status from your chosen sentinel weapon. Now mod out your sentinel weapon with the element of your choosing and it will prime enemies for you while you play.
