How to Get Crafting Metals in Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a free-to-play multiplayer FPS with an emphasis on using your legend’s abilities to turn the tide in battle. One of the best aspects of these legends is the ability to customize them with a wide variety of skins, poses, and trackers. But how do you acquire these cosmetics?

While there are many different ways to secure new looks for your legends, Crafting Metals is one of the few options that are free. But just how do you get your hands on these precious Crafting Metals? We’ll be telling you exactly how to get crafting metals in this article!

What are Crafting Metals?

Crafting Metals are one of several currencies found in Apex Legends. Unlike Apex Coins, Crafting Metals can only be acquired by earning them in-game, and cannot be purchased through a store.

These can be used to craft a wide variety of different cosmetic items for your legends — everything from legend skins, to stat trackers, to audio quips. You can even use them to buy especially rare skins from limited-time events!

The price of purchasing a skin, banner frame, pose, tracker, or audio quip with Crafting Metals depends on its rarity. It works as follows:

  • Common: 30
  • Rare: 60
  • Epic: 400
  • Legendary: 1200

Where do I get Crafting Metals?

There are several methods to acquire Crafting Metals in Apex Legends. The first method is by purchasing battle passes. Battle passes will always have at 1200 Crafting Metals for you if you buy the premium version. The premium version costs real money (950 Apex Coins), so not everyone will go with this method.

The next method is to play during limited-time events. Every now and then, Respawn will release special events that come with their own set of rewards. Some of these rewards include Crafting Metals! You can easily earn some during these events just by completing challenges. This isn’t the most reliable method, as limited-time events come and go, and they don’t always include Crafting Metals as their rewards.

The third and final method is to open up Apex Packs. These are loot boxes that let you earn three random items of different rarities. One of these items can be Crafting Metals! Their rarity and the amount they hold is as follows:

  • Common: 15
  • Rare: 30
  • Epic: 200
  • Legendary: 600

Where can I get Apex Packs?

You can earn Apex Packs in a variety of different ways. Some of these methods are free, and others require you to pay a varying amount.

The easiest way to snag yourself some Apex Packs is simply by leveling up. According to Respawn, you’ll earn one every time you level up between Levels 1–20. This turns into one every two levels when you’re Level 20–300. After Level 305, you’ll get one Apex Pack for every five times you level up.

You can earn extra Packs by leveling up your battle pass. There are seven Apex Packs to unlock for Season 11’s battle pass in total. Additionally, limited-time events will sometimes offer Packs as rewards as you complete event challenges.
