Apex Legends: All Heirlooms Ranked Worst to Best

One of the greatest things about Apex Legends is the huge variety of characters available. Each legend comes with their own unique set of abilities, as well as distinctive personalities and backstories to complement them.

The cherry on top for making a legend truly unique is the rare and highly sought-after heirlooms. These are special melee weapons that can only be equipped by their respective legends. While they are only a cosmetic item, they are still a must-own if you have a particular legend you prefer to play.

In this best heirlooms in Apex Legends guide, we will be going over each and every heirloom, discussing each one’s design and what makes them so good (or bad).

War Club

Starting off at number eleven, we have Gibraltar’s heirloom: the War Club. I remember when this heirloom first appeared in a comic several seasons ago, everyone suspected that this would be Gibby’s heirloom.

I didn’t believe them, because this heirloom just looks so ugly to me. It’s hard to explain why, but I just don’t like it. This obviously isn’t a popular opinion, as many people seem to love this heirloom.

If you ask me, they should have made Gibraltar’s hook his heirloom. That would have looked much better, and complimented his character a lot more.

Kunai

Next we have Wraith’s Kunai. The Kunai made its debut as the first heirloom to hit Apex Legends back in March 2020. This is no surprise, as Wraith has been the poster child of the game since day one.

Wraith’s Kunai is very popular, and I can clearly see why. It is a well-designed heirloom with a beautiful animated effect on the blade.

There is little to complain about here, but it’s just a little…boring. Compared to many of the other heirlooms you will see on this list, it just doesn’t have the same level of personality or uniqueness that it should have.

Raven’s Bite

Next on our list of Apex Legends all heirlooms ranked, we have Bloodhound’s heirloom, Raven’s Bite. Respawn Entertainment added this tomahawk alongside the Iron Crown Collection Event.

This is a very fitting heirloom for someone like Bloodhound. It is the perfect tool for hunters, and with the added details it compliments Bloodhound perfectly.

As you can see from the image, there is Arthur’s head sculpted onto the tomahawk. The other little details — like the red coloring on the blade and the trinket on the bottom — are the icing on the cake.

Butterfly Knife

Next up in our best Apex heirloom list, we have Octane’s Butterfly Knife. This specially-designed knife was released all the way back in Season 4, and Octane mains have been clamoring for it ever since.

While it’s not the most unique heirloom on this list, the butterfly knife has plenty of charm to it. The knife contains some of Octane’s special stim-juice and comes with its own needle for injection at the bottom.

But just like with Wraith’s Kunai, I found myself a little disappointed when this heirloom first dropped. It is just a knife, after all, and I can’t help but feel they could have found something more unique for Octane. On the other hand, it does make a lot of sense that Octane gets a butterfly knife. As he would say, “She’s fast, just like me!”

7/11

Shock Sticks

Getting into number seven, we have Lifeline’s personalized drum sticks: the Shock Sticks. Lifeline mains were able to get their hands on these since the Fight or Fright Collection Event.

What I really love about this heirloom is just how unique it is, and how fitting it is for Lifeline’s personality. She is canonically a drummer and plays in a band.

The fact that these act as a sort of taser when hitting enemies is a creative idea, and makes these non-weapons feel much more deadly in your hands (even if they’re just cosmetic).

6/11

Cold Steel

Here at spot number six, we have Bangalore’s pilot knife. This deadly-looking weapon was added to the game alongside the Chaos Theory collection event in March earlier this year.

This one was a little harder to rank. On one hand, I’m not fully sold on the design of it. I didn’t really like the look of it at first, but it has really grown on me as time went on. It has a beautiful gray and yellow color scheme, with plenty of little details on it to match.

One good thing about this heirloom is its connection to the Titanfall franchise. This is a data knife, which is commonly used by titan pilots to hack electronic equipment.

5/11

Problem Solver

Starting off the top five on our list, we have Rampart’s personal wrench: the Problem Solver. This is the most recent heirloom to hit Apex Legends, seeing its release date in September earlier this year during the Evolution Collection Event.

This is going to be an unpopular choice for fifth place. I’ve heard a lot of criticism about Rampart’s heirloom, and while I can understand why people feel this shouldn’t be so high on the list, I have to respectfully disagree.

It may be just a wrench, but it is jam-packed with loads of little details and personal touches that make it so cool. One of these personal touches is the built-in taser. It also has a personal bubble gum dispenser, which Rampart can activate in one of her animations to blow a bubble with.

C’mon, you gotta admit that is pretty cool.

4/11

Boxing Gloves

Number four on our list of every heirloom ranked in Apex Legends is Pathfinder’s Boxing Gloves. These bad-boys were introduced during the collection event Holo-Day Bash, back in December 2019.

Pathfinder mains definitely have it good with this heirloom. Not only does it look amazing and capitalize on Pathfinder’s backstory, but it’s also really creative compared to the other heirloom sets.

The design pretty much speaks for itself, so let’s talk about the animations. Inspecting the Boxing Gloves showcases some amazing digital art on the front, all of which match Pathfinder’s screen perfectly. There is even animation of Pathfinder sucker-punching a crow!

Even if the animations don’t interest you, you can’t deny how fun it is to box with other players using this heirloom — it just fits so perfectly!

3/11

Death Hammer

Now we are approaching the end of our list and starting with our top three picks. Taking the spot for bronze, we have Caustic’s heirloom, the Death Hammer. This deadly weapon came to fruition during the Aftermarket Collection Event.

I’ll admit, I may be a little biased here. Caustic has been my main for many seasons, and to say I was excited when I saw he was getting his heirloom is an understatement.

Personal bias aside, there is no denying this is one of the coolest heirlooms. The skull on the back of it is so intimidating, and it perfectly fits Caustic. Hitting enemies with it sends out some toxic-gas particle effects, which is a nice touch!

2/11

Too Much Witt

In second place on our list, we have Mirage’s heirloom, Too Much Witt. This saw its release during the Lost Treasures Event, and ever since it has held a special place in my heart.

There is no denying it — this is by far the most unique and whimsical heirloom in all of Apex Legends. It’s a miniature gold statue of Mirage. What’s not to love? It features a lot of great little details on it, including the inscription on the plate, which reads, “Best competitor in a battle royale.”

This heirloom also features some of the best animations. In one, Mirage will press the button underneath the statue to create a light show and send out sparkles as the statue rotates on its pedestal. In an especially rare one, Mirage will pull out a literal pork chop and use it to hit opponents.

Yeah, I didn’t believe that one at first, either.

1/11

Dead Man’s Curve

What is the best heirloom in Apex Legends? The Dead Man’s Curve. If you’ve seen all of the heirloom’s before, you shouldn’t be surprised by our top pick. Dead Man’s Curve, which released alongside the Genesis Collection Event, takes the gold.

This technically advanced sythe belongs to the simulacrum Revenant, and it couldn’t be more obvious why. This is without a doubt the best-looking heirloom in the game, and its entire design is just oozing with edge.

The animations are superb, and even just equipping it will send a shiver down your spine. Hitting enemies with it gives out an incredibly satisfying clanking sound, and the orange and black particle effects give it a sinister glow that no other heirloom can match.
