Best Apex Legends FOV Settings For PC & Console

Human Made

Apex Legends by Respawn Entertainment is arguably one of the best shooters on the market. Gunplay is satisfying, there’s a nice variety of weapons, and each Legend’s abilities bring something unique to the table. But good gunplay doesn’t mean much if you can’t see your opponents before they see you.

You can help fix this problem by tweaking your FOV setting. But what does FOV even mean? Why is it so important? Does it matter if you’re playing on a PC or console?

We’ll be answering all of those questions in our guide on Apex Legends‘ best FOV settings for PC and console. Without any further delay, let’s hop right into it!

What Does ‘FOV’ Mean?

FOV is short for “Field of view.” In simple terms, it’s how many things you can see all at once on your screen. If you increase your FOV, your screen will “zoom-out” a little and you can see more beyond your typical vision. Doing the opposite will cause your point of view to focus more towards the center of the screen, and you won’t be able to spot things from the side as easily.

Do keep in mind, however, that some people have run into performance issues after increasing their FOV. This is because your system needs to process more things on the screen at once, potentially resulting in a lower FPS. Performance is everything in shooters, so be sure to keep this in mind!

Best APEX FOV Settings For PC & Console

The best FOV for PC players is generally anywhere from 90 to 105. There’s no reason to go lower than 90, and anything over 105 can get disorienting. Increasing it from the default setting of 90 allows you to see things from the side more easily. This is always helpful in close-quarters fights.

For console users, it depends on how far away you’re sitting from your TV. If you’re sitting far from your TV, I recommend going no higher than 90 at the most. With a higher FOV, it can get tricky spotting enemies from farther away that are in your field of vision. If you’re having trouble seeing enemies across great distances, you may want to make it lower than the default.

Some people like to play on as low as 75 FOV. It allows them to more easily see targets from farther away. This could potentially be useful if you like using sniper rifles or marksman rifles, but in most firefights, such a low FOV setting is likely to get you killed.

To summarize, PC users are generally good at sticking to the default setting or higher, while console users should stay somewhere between 75 and 90. But everyone is different, of course, so don’t be afraid to play around with the settings a bit as you play!
