Ever since his release all the way back in Season 1 of Apex Legends, Octane has been a fan-favorite character for his wild personality and incredibly fun abilities. Much like all legends in the Apex Games, Octane can be customized with a wide variety of different skins and other cosmetic options.
But out of all the skins available for Octane, which ones are the best? Which ones fit his personality the most? Which of them are the rarest, and thus better to show off with? Below, we’ll be ranking the best Octane skins in Apex Legends!

Top Octane Skins, Ranked Good to Best
Without any further delay, let’s jump right in!
7. Gold Rush
To kick off our list for the best Octane skins in Apex Legends ranked, let’s take a look at the Gold Rush skin! This is a well-known cosmetic that’s been in the game since the launch of Season 1 all the way back in 2019.
The model is based on a stunt racer outfit, specifically the kind you’d see on dirt bike tracks. It features a helmet that meshes well with Octane’s goggles, as well as a nice-looking bike suit. The colors are a mixture of white, gold, and gray, which surprisingly look very well together! Because of these colors, I like this skin much more than the Victory Lap one (which shares the same model).
This skin can be crafted at any time by going into the cosmetic menu for Octane. It can be purchased for 1200 crafting metals, the standard price for all legendary skins in Apex Legends. It may be a little pricey, but it’s well worth it if you have the funds. The only downside of this being readily available at any time is that it’s less rare, and it’s not as great for showing off with.
6. Fast Fashion
Now for a personal favorite of mine, we have the Fast Fashion legendary skin! Players who purchased the Battle Pass from Season 7 are the only ones who were able to obtain this beauty of a skin. Season 7 was released with this cosmetic item on November 4th, 2020.
To coincide with the launch of the map Olympus, Octane was given attire to match the luxurious city. You could compare this outfit to a futuristic suit, with dark and light blue colors and gold highlights all around the body. While the colors are really nice, the geometric patterns are what really make this skin for me! There is plenty of detail on the outfit, such as Octane’s goggles and mask making a silly face!
To my knowledge, this skin has never resurfaced outside of the Season 7 battlepass. Players who want this skin might be out of luck. But who knows? Maybe Respawn will re-release this cosmetic outfit sometime in the future in the store rotations, we’ll see a re-color in a future collection event.
5. Dasher
For those of you looking for something on the less-serious side, we have the legendary skin Dasher coming in at spot number five! This whacky and charming skin saw its debut during the Mirage Holo-Day Bash Collection Event. This limited-time event occurred in 2019, during Season 3.
Don’t let the name fool you — this cosmetic is modeled after Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. The mask features reindeer ears and antlers, goggles with googly eyes, and even a big red nose to top it off. You can even spot some sleigh-bells around the waist! The skin has very natural colors (beige, brown, and white), but with some gold and red to spice things up here and there.
Sadly, you may have to wait until Christmas 2022 to bag this skin for your collection. Dasher has only ever returned during Christmas sales, and I highly doubt we’ll ever see it outside of this time. That is, unless Respawn does a Christmas in July event, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up if I were you.
4. Speed Demon
Next up, we have a more common (but still good-looking) legendary skin known as Speed Demon! This is a very popular cosmetic for Octane mains, and I’ve seen it more than a few times in public lobbies. It was released alongside its legend all the way back in Season 1 during March 2019.
I don’t know much about the heritage behind this skin, other than the fact it’s east-Asian influenced. To my knowledge, it’s modeled after an Oni (a Japanese demon), but I might be wrong.
Regardless of where it came from, it’s definitely a scary-looking skin. There are several spikes scattered around the body to add to the menacing effect! The color palette is a mixture of gold and bronze, with a dark blue baseline.
Considering how easily available this skin is, it’s no wonder it’s so popular. If you’re looking to grab it for yourself, then you’re in luck. Speed Demon can be crafted at any time from Octane’s cosmetic menu for only 1200 crafting metals, no battle passes required!
3. Wild Speed
Third place on our ranking of the best Octane skins is Wild Speed! First released back in May 2021 during Season 9, it was a part of the ALGS Store Sale.
This is a very fitting skin for someone like Octane, given its wild cheetah aesthetic. Its mask (helmet?) comes with matching cat ears, as well as black goggles to cover the eyes. The model is very sleek and athletic, and its arms and thighs feature a gorgeous hexagon pattern on the suit. To top things off, the color palette is black and yellow, which is one of the best combinations!
Players who missed out on it when it was first released were able to snag it as early back as January of this year, but it was recently phased out. It’s a real shame it’s already gone — this is a nice-looking skin few players have been able to obtain. I wouldn’t expect this one to appear again anytime soon, given how it was in store rotations not too long ago.
2. Arachnoid Rush
For second place on our list, let’s take a gander at the Arachnoid Rush Octane skin! This is an especially unique-looking legendary skin that can only be obtained by purchasing the Octane Edition DLC. This DLC saw its debut on February 18th, 2020. Unlike the other skins, this can be purchased from any time via your console’s store (or Steam and Origin, if you play on PC).
Onto the skin itself, the model is clearly influenced by nature’s cuddliest insect, the spider! The face may have only two eyes, but the mouthpiece is reminiscent of a spider’s fangs. The color is a nice white and purple, which always go well together. There are even cobweb decals on Octane’s legs! This is not the skin for you if you have arachnophobia.
If you are looking to acquire this skin, I would recommend you do so promptly. There are rumors (nothing confirmed) floating around that Respawn may do away with Legend Edition DLCs in future updates. It’s unclear if this means there won’t be new Legend Editions for the characters who don’t have them, or if they will pull existing DLCs from shelves.
1. Jade Tiger
Taking the top spot on our ranking for the best Octane skins in Apex Legends, we have the Jaded Tiger legendary skin! This is a classic skin that was released all the way back in Season 2 of Apex Legends on July 2nd, 2019. The only way to obtain it was through the battle pass, which makes this one of the rarest Octane skins in the whole game.
Jade Tiger’s model features an east-Asian motif, with a Tiger as the main inspiration. Its helmet is designed to resemble the animal, which gives it an intimidating appearance. The skin features a jade-green primary color, with a texture to match the aforementioned gemstone. Gold highlights surround the body and cover much of the helmet’s front end.
Given how long ago this skin was released, I am unsure if it will ever make a return. We’ve seen rare skins return in the past, but this one came out almost three years ago! There is a re-color of this skin called El Tigre, which occasionally returns during the Anniversary Events, however. As of February 2022, it is currently available in the store, so get it while you can!
