Yanfei is a 4-star Pyro character in Genshin Impact, and she can often be found sorting out legal troubles for the people of Liyue. Outside of that, she’s a pretty good Pyro DPS, especially if you take advantage of Vaporize and Melt reactions. Being a 4-star character, she’s also fairly accessible, and if you have her, she’s definitely worth having on your team. Today, we’re talking about the best weapons for Yanfei, so you can make the most of her talents and abilities in Genshin Impact.

Best Weapons for Yanfei: Overview

Yanfei is a 4-star Pyro character and a Catalyst user, and this, along with her other talents and abilities, makes her a pretty good Pyro applicator and DPS. Regardless of your playstyle, there are plenty of options to choose from. We’ve also included a couple 3-star and crafted weapons to keep things free-to-play friendly.

For the most part, you’ll want to use weapons with a high ATK that have Elemental Mastery, ATK%, or CRIT as their substat. You’ll also generally want to focus on her Normal Attack, along with Elemental Reactions such as Vaporize, Overload, and Melt. However, those stats aren’t everything.

Depending on your playstyle, a weapon with stats that aren’t as high may end up working better due to its passive. Overall, go with a weapon that works for you and how you play the game. Regardless of your playstyle, there are all sorts of great weapons out there that you can use to take Yanfei’s abilities to the next level, whether that’s an R1 5-star Catalyst or an R5 3-star.

If you want to make the most of your weapons, then you want to level up and ascend them as much as you can. This will boost the Base ATK and secondary stat, and you’ll need both of these as high as possible if you want to make the most of Yanfei.

Some weapon materials are easier to find than others, though regardless of the materials used, weapon ascension will always require a Weapon Ascension Material and two different Character Level-up Materials. Sometimes, these will also be referred to as Common Ascension Materials.

Just keep in mind that the Domains of Forgery where Weapon Ascension Materials are found are only available during select days of the week, so be sure to plan ahead so you can get the materials you need.

Of course, ascension is only one part of enhancing your weapons in Genshin Impact. Another key aspect is refinement, which improves your passive by combining your weapon with identical ones.

For the most part, it’s unnecessary, and you’ll benefit more from giving your extra weapons to other characters. However, for some of the more accessible weapons, you’ll have enough (or access to enough) that refining your weapons is actually worthwhile.

Depending on the passive, however, refinements can help make up for subpar stats, like those of 3-star weapons. While our rankings are assuming no refinements for most of the weapons listed, they’re definitely worth considering. It’s a solid option for taking your weapons and characters to the next level if you have the resources.

Best Weapons for Yanfei: 3-Stars & Crafted

These may not be the strongest weapons, but these 3-star and crafted weapons are accessible, and it’s fairly easy to max out their ascension and refinement. Once they’re maxed out, they can hold their own, even when you compare them to other 4-star and 5-star weapons.

This makes them a great option for free-to-play players, and they’re definitely worth considering, even if you have some of Yanfei’s other best weapons. Here’s our pick for the best 3-star and crafted weapons for Yanfei in Genshin Impact.

Magic Guide

First up is Magic Guide, which is a 3-star catalyst. Its Base ATK may not be the highest, but it offers a high amount of Elemental Mastery for its substat, which largely makes up for it, especially if you prioritize Melt, Vaporize, and Overload reactions.

Depending on your playstyle, the low Base ATK may not matter that much. Even if it does, Magic Guide has a passive that boosts damage to opponents affected by Hydro and Electro, and you can get a pretty substantial buff once you get it to R5. If you’re using Yanfei in a Vaporize or Overload rotation, Magic Guide is a great weapon to have on hand.

Mappa Mare

Next up is Mappa Mare, which is a 4-star crafted weapon. Like Magic Guide, Mappa Mare offers Elemental Mastery as its substat, and while it isn’t as high as Magic Guide, Mappa Mare has a higher Base ATK. It also has a passive that buffs EM DMG whenever you trigger Elemental Reactions, and you can have two stacks.

Northlander Catalyst Billets aren’t always easy to get after the first few, but once you get enough, getting Mappa Mare to R5 can be very worthwhile. This will let you take full advantage of its passive and substat by letting you maximize your EM damage.

The EM substat, along with the higher Base ATK and passive, works particularly well for a Vaporize-centric Yanfei playstyle. If you’re willing to put in the work to get it to R5, Mappa Mare is a strong free-to-play weapon that can help make the most of your Elemental Reactions.

Best Weapons for Yanfei in Genshin Impact

While the 4-star and 5-star weapons found on the Standard and Event banners are a little harder to come by, they offer better stats and passive abilities. Even when they’re just at Refinement Rank 1, they offer quite a lot. These are the best weapons for Yanfei in Genshin Impact.

Lost Prayers to the Sacred Wind

With a high Base ATK and CRIT Rate substat, Lost Prayers to the Sacred Winds is easily one of Yanfei’s best weapons in Genshin Impact. Overall, it synergizes well with her rotations. If you like to give Yanfei plenty of time on on-field, then it’s even better, as Lost Prayers increases movement speed and buffs Elemental DMG every 4 seconds until you have four stacks.

This 5-star weapon is also on the Standard Banner, so while it’s still hard to get, it’s much more accessible than the other 5-star weapons that work well for Yanfei.

The Widsith

Then there’s the Widsith, which is a 4-star Catalyst that offers a good Base ATK and has CRIT DMG as its secondary stat. It has a passive that takes advantage of when you swap Yanfei in (or any other character you use it on), and the cooldown still gives Yanfei plenty of on-field time to make the most of her rotations.

Each time you swap Yanfei in, a theme song will play for 10s, and it substantially increases either ATK%, Elemental DMG, or Elemental Mastery for the duration of the song. This gives you a fair amount of time to rack up plenty of DMG whenever Yanfei takes the field. You definitely don’t want to mess with her when these theme songs are active.

Kagura’s Verity

Another great 5-star weapon for Yanfei is Kagura’s Verity, which has the same Base ATK as Lost Prayers and has CRIT DMG as its substat. Kagura’s Verity offers more CRIT DMG than the Widsith, and this combination of high ATK and CRIT DMG already makes Kagura’s Verity a compelling option for Yanfei.

Its passive makes it even more compelling, as it improves Yanfei’s Elemental Skill by making it even more powerful as you use it. Once you get the maximum of three stacks, you gain an additional Elemental DMG Bonus.

Kagura’s Verity offers quite a lot, and there’s still plenty of time for rotations. Overall, it’s a great option if you have it, but since it’s only available during limited-run banners, just use one of the other weapons on our list if you don’t.

Sacrificial Fragments

And rounding out our picks for Yanfei’s best weapons is Sacrificial Fragments, which offers the highest Elemental Mastery of any Catalyst. Its base ATK may not be as high as the other 4 and 5-star weapons on our list, and its passive isn’t particularly useful, as it just has a chance of ending the cooldown of Yanfei’s Elemental Skill.

However, the additional damage gained through Elemental Reactions more than makes up for it. If you favor Yanfei’s Overload playstyle or if your playstyle needs a ton of Elemental Mastery, then chances are that Sacrificial Fragments has everything you need.
