Kaedehara Kazuha is a gentle soul and wanderer by nature. He’s a 5-star Anemo Sword character who has quickly taken his place as one of the best characters in Genshin Impact. With huge potential as a Support and Sub-DPS character, both new and veteran players alike love having him on their teams. That’s why today we’re helping you build him with a ranked list of the best weapons for Kazuha in Genshin Impact!
Foreword on the Best Weapons for Kazuha
One of the most important aspects of character building in Genshin Impact is finding the right weapon for each character. Sometimes a good weapon just doesn’t fit well with your team or maybe it just doesn’t fit right with the way your character is built.
Not to mention it’s a lot to keep track of all the different weapon stats, effect abilities, ascension materials, etc.
To make things simpler, we’ve come up with a list of the top five weapons for Kazuha in Genshin Impact. Below, you’ll find simple explanations of each weapon’s effect, as well as their stats and the materials you’ll need to gather to get them into fighting shape. We even go over the cons of each weapon that might make them tricky to use.
This ranking covers the best 4-star and 5-star weapon options out there. Normally we’d include a 3-star option as well. For Kazuha, though, it’s worth putting in the extra effort for a 4-star blade.
Before we can get into the rankings, it’s important to point out that some of the weapons on this list are not always available. A few are part of time-limited weapon banners or were a part of event-exclusive rewards. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get them, but there’s no telling when exactly they will be available again.
Don’t get too disappointed, though — there are still some options that you’ll be able to get at any time, even if you just started playing a few days ago.
How to Choose a Weapon for Kazuha
There are a lot of things to keep in mind when it comes to picking out weapons. Different characters have different needs. Some require a lot of HP, while others are more about loading up on as much CRIT DMG as possible.
Let’s quickly go over the basics before we get into the ranks just so everyone is on the same page.
Stats
When picking a weapon for any character in Genshin Impact, you’ll want one of at least a 3-star rarity or higher. 1-star and 2-star weapons only have a single base stat, while 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star weapons have a secondary stat, along with passive abilities or effects.
Regardless of rarity, the primary stat of any sword is going to be ATK. This ATK stat, when added to the wielder’s ATK, creates their Base ATK.
Secondary stats can differ from sword to sword, but will always be one of the following:
- ATK%
- CRIT DMG%
- CRIT Rate%
- DEF%
- Elemental Mastery
- Energy Recharge%
- HP%
- Physical DMG Bonus%
Catering Kazuha’s Weapon to His Best Role
The best weapons for Kazuha in Genshin Impact are going to be ones that support his Elemental Skill and/or Elemental Burst. His Normal Attacks aren’t going to be much of a priority since his Talents revolve around causing Swirl DMG.
That also means players will want swords that can improve Kazuha’s Sub-DPS and Support abilities. While he can be built into a DPS, his best team roles tend to place him in a quick rotation on and off the field after triggering Elemental Reactions.
In general, this means finding weapons that can improve his Elemental Mastery, or at the very least his Energy Recharge stat.
Higher Elemental Mastery means increasing Kazuha’s own damage the most and providing a larger buff from his Passive Talent Poetics of Fuubutsu. Higher Energy Recharge means being able to use his Elemental Burst more frequently, which will in turn trigger more Elemental Reactions.
Takeaway
Finding the perfect weapon with no flaws is going to be nigh impossible. Especially since so many of the best weapons for Kazuha in Genshin Impact have a very small window of time where you can actually get them.
Do your best to keep in mind the effects you want and work on finding something that you have fun playing. That’s what is most important — it’s not like you can never tweak your character build. When you come across a new weapon, it’s easy to just swap them out. Don’t worry too much about the meta and focus on what fits best with your playstyle at the moment.
5 Best Weapons for Kaedehara Kazuha in Genshin Impact, Ranked
Now that all the bases are covered, let’s get into the ranks! Here are our top five weapon recommendations for Kaedehara Kazuha in Genshin Impact.
5/5
Festering Desire (4-Star Sword)
Kicking off our list of the best weapons for Kazuha in Genshin Impact is the Festering Desire sword! While this is an incredible sword, it is pretty hard to come by, hence its low placement in our ranks.
Stats and Effects
This sword’s base ATK stat tops out at a respectable 510, only beaten by 5-star weapons and a small number of other 4-star blades. While this is pretty good, ATK isn’t exactly Kazuha’s most important stat, so we’ll move onto its secondary stat.
The Festering Desire’s secondary stat increases Kazuha’s Energy Recharge by 45.9% when fully leveled. Not a bad Energy Recharge boost, though overall on the lower end of Energy Recharge swords. The best part of this sword, though, is its main effect.
Undying Admiration increases Kazuha’s Elemental Skill DMG by a base of 16% and his Elemental Skill CRIT Rate by 6%. Players who have this sword were probably able to get the Refinement materials so the Elemental Skill DMG boost is kicked up to 32%. At Refinement Level 5, the Elemental Skill CRIT Rate is also increased to 12%.
While the Undying Admiration effect doesn’t do anything for Kazuha’s Elemental Burst, it does seriously increase his DMG as a Sub-DPS. Especially since this effect works so well with Kazuha’s Passive Talents that increase his Elemental DMG when Swirl Reactions are triggered.
Drawbacks
The Festering Desire’s biggest drawback is its availability. Only players who received it during the Chalk Prince and the Dragon event back in December of 2020 have been able to get their hands on it. This sword has unfortunately not been included in any weapon banners or other events, so anyone who doesn’t have it already will be out of luck.
The effect is just too good to not mention as one of the best weapons for Kazuha, though, so we added it to our list anyway.
Materials
For the lucky few who do have this sword, you’ll need the following ascension materials:
- 150k Mora
- 3 Fetters of the Dandelion Gladiator (2-star weapon material)
- 9 Chains of the Dandelion Gladiator (3-star weapon material)
- 9 Shackles of the Dandelion Gladiator (4-star weapon material)
- 4 Dream of the Dandelion Gladiator (5-star weapon material)
- 15 Heavy Horn (2-star enemy drop)
- 18 Black Bronze Horn (3-star enemy drop)
- 27 Black Crystal Horn (4-star enemy drop)
- 10 Recruit’s Insignia (1-star enemy drop)
- 15 Sergeant’s Insignia (2-star enemy drop)
- 18 Lieutenant’s Insignia (3-star enemy drop)
4/5
Favonius Sword (4-Star Sword)
The next sword on the list of the best weapons for Kazuha in Genshin Impact is much easier to obtain than the last. It’s the Favonius Sword, which we’re sure looks pretty familiar for anyone who has spent much time Wishing.
The Favonius Sword is a very common 4-star weapon Wish on both character and weapon banners, so it should be pretty easy for anyone to get hold of.
Stats and Effects
The Favonius Sword’s main stat tops out at 454 ATK. Overall not great, but as we’ve mentioned, ATK isn’t the most important stat for Kazuha anyway. The secondary stat increases Energy Recharge by a much more respectable 61.3%.
Players won’t have to worry much about Energy with the Favonius Sword, since its main effect Windfall is an excellent battery, too. While equipped, CRITs have a 60% chance to generate Elemental Particles. Particles generate 6 energy for Kazuha up to once every 12 seconds. At higher refinement levels, the chance for CRITs to generate Elemental Particles is increased to 100%.
Players who equip Kazuha with the Favonius Sword will need to keep it in mind while building him. The Windfall effect is pretty useless if Kazuha never CRITs, after all, so increasing his CRIT Rate with the right artifacts should be a priority.
Drawbacks
While the Favonius Sword is great for Energy and thus popping off Kazuha’s Elemental Burst, it does take some focus away from increasing his Elemental Mastery. This will mean slightly less DMG overall, since his Passive Talents won’t provide quite as much of a buff to the rest of the team.
Since Elemental Mastery swords are kind of hard to come by, this can be acceptable for players who don’t use Kazuha very regularly.
While it is still somewhat of a drawback, determined players will be able to compensate for the CRIT Rate focus with the right artifact substats. It will certainly be difficult, but it isn’t impossible. Since finding artifacts high in both CRIT Rate and Elemental Mastery is going to be pretty challenging, we suggest you buckle up and be ready for a long road of grinding ahead.
Materials
To fully ascend the Favonius Sword, you will need the following materials:
- 150k Mora
- 3 Tile of Decarabian’s Tower (2-star weapon material)
- 9 Debris of Decarabian’s City (3-star weapon material)
- 9 Fragment of Decarabian’s Epic (4-star weapon material)
- 4 Scattered Piece of Decarabian’s Dream (5-star weapon material)
- 15 Heavy Horn (2-star enemy drop)
- 18 Black Bronze Horn (3-star enemy drop)
- 27 Black Crystal Horn (4-star enemy drop)
- 10 Firm Arrowhead (1-star enemy drop)
- 15 Sharp Arrowhead (2-star enemy drop)
- 18 Weathered Arrowhead (3-star enemy drop)
3/5
Iron Sting (4-Star Sword)
Our third best spot on the list of the best weapons for Kazuha in Genshin Impact also goes to the most free-to-play friendly option! The Iron Sting is a relatively easy weapon to get and still manages to be one of the best sword options out there.
Stats and Effects
Another mid-range ATK, the Iron Sting’s Base ATK tops out at 510. The secondary stat, Elemental Mastery, is what’s most important. It increases Kazuha’s Elemental Mastery by up to 165. While this may not sound like a whole lot, there aren’t many weapon options with a higher Elemental Mastery boost.
The Iron Sting’s main effect, Infusion Stinger, increases all DMG by 6% after dealing Elemental DMG. This effect lasts only 6 seconds but can stack twice, totaling a 12% DMG increase. At higher refinement levels, the DMG increase can reach up to 12% per stack for a total DMG increase of 24%.
Since this is all DMG, it includes Elemental Burst DMG, ATK DMG, and even Elemental DMG. This Elemental DMG means more Elemental Skill DMG and Elemental Burst DMG, which is what’s important. That’s where Kazuha’s biggest gains will be seen.
Players wanting an easy sword for Kazuha without spending the primos on a 5-star weapon or getting lucky with time-limited events will definitely want to go with the Iron Sting.
Drawbacks
There aren’t any straight forward drawbacks to the Iron Sting. It’s a decent weapon, it’s easy to get, and it’s easy to use.
For players wanting to maximize Kazuha’s build, though, there are certainly better options out there. It’s not that the Iron Sting is bad or doesn’t do enough. It’s just that there are weapon options that do more.
Even if you don’t give Kazuha the Iron Sting, we still recommend it since its effect works well with many other characters. If you choose not to use it now, you’ll likely end up using it down the road — you may as well start putting in the work sooner rather than later.
Materials
To forge the Iron Sting, you will need the following materials:
- 500 Mora
- 1 Northlander Sword Billet (4-star forging material)
- 50 Crystal Chunk (1-star item)
- 50 White Iron Chunk (1-star item)
Players can craft the Iron Sting (or other forgeable weapons) by heading to a Blacksmith’s Forge. They can be found throughout Teyvat in each region’s capital city, or in the Serenitea Pot if players have their own Forge.
When forging, the most difficult item to obtain is typically a 4-star weapon Billet. While one or two can be purchased at various stores or earned as rewards for completing certain tasks, most players will acquire them by challenging weekly bosses. Each weekly boss has a chance to randomly drop a Northlander weapon Billet once per week.
Even if players receive a Billet, there is no guarantee it will be a Sword Billet so we suggest stocking up on them before you need one.
To fully ascend the Iron Sting, you will need the following materials:
- 150k Mora
- 3 Grain of Aerosiderite (2-star weapon material)
- 9 PIece of Aerosiderite (3-star weapon material)
- 9 Bit of Aerosiderite (4-star weapon material)
- 4 Chunk of Aerosiderite (5-star weapon material)
- 15 Fragile Bone Shard (2-star enemy drop)
- 18 Sturdy Bone Shard (3-star enemy drop)
- 27 Fossilized Bone Shard (4-star enemy drop)
- 10 Whopperflower Nectar (1-star enemy drop)
- 15 Shimmering Nectar (2-star enemy drop)
- 18 Energy Nectar (3-star enemy drop)
2/5
Xiphos’ Moonlight (4-Star Sword)
In a previous guide, our second top recommendation for the best weapons for Kazuha in Genshin Impact was the 4-star Sacrificial Sword. Thanks to some new weapons in Version 3.,2 though, we have a new 4-star sword in our ranks that takes the second spot!
Xipho’s Moonlight may be a newer weapon, but it is already one of the best for Kazuha, fitting him even better than most 5-star blades.
Stats and Effects
Topping out at 510 Base ATK, Xiphos’ Moonlight doesn’t have the most impressive ATK. Its secondary stat, however, increases Kazuha’s Elemental Mastery by 165. This Elemental Mastery increase is the same as the Iron Sting’s and is only beaten out by 5-star Elemental Mastery weapons.
The sword’s main effect, Jinni’s Whisper, increases Energy Recharge by 0.036% for each point of Elemental Mastery Kazuha has. This effect is triggered every 10 seconds and lasts for 12 seconds, even when Kazuha is not on the field. Allied party members also gain 30% of the same buff for the duration.
For characters who need high Elemental Mastery, this can mean a pretty nice little buff for both Kazuha and his party members. The overlapping duration and trigger time also means this buff is always in effect, even off field.
Drawbacks
To make the best use of Xipho’s Moonlight, players will need to go all in on Kazuha’s Elemental Mastery stat. Without high Elemental Mastery, the sword’s effect doesn’t really provide much of a buff. If you’re not getting the best use out of that, then you may as well use another weapon.
Focusing on Elemental Mastery isn’t necessarily a drawback, but it is a little limiting, especially for players who want to use Kazuha in a more active DPS role. Focusing on Elemental Mastery so much can somewhat limit his team role. It will force him off-field more often to make way for DPS characters who may or may not benefit from his Elemental Mastery buff.
Another drawback is that Xipho’s Moonlight is only available from the limited-time Epitome Invocation weapon banner. Its first run was alongside Nilou and Albedo’s character banners. It was not added to the Standard Banner and it is unknown when it will see a rerun.
We are much more likely to see a rerun of this weapon than event-exclusive ones, at least. So make sure to keep an eye on the featured weapons in upcoming banners.
Materials
To fully ascend Xipho’s Moonlight, you will need the following materials:
- 150k Mora
- 3 Copper Talisman of the Forest Dew (2-star weapon material)
- 9 Iron Talisman of the Forest Dew (3-star weapon material)
- 9 Silver Talisman of the Forest Dew (4-star weapon material)
- 4 Golden Talisman of the Forest Dew (5-star weapon material)
- 15 Damaged Prism (2-star enemy drop)
- Turbid Prism (3-star enemy drop)
- 27 Radian Prism (4-star enemy drop)
- 10 Faded Red Satin (1-star enemy drop)
- 15 Trimmed Red Silk (2-star enemy drop)
- Rich Red Brocade (3-star enemy drop)
1/5
Freedom-Sworn (5-Star Sword)
It’s finally time for our last sword and the very best of the weapons for Kazuha in Genshin Impact! Our final weapon is a 5-star blade that is inarguably one of the best weapons overall in game. Even if you don’t have Kazuha yet, you’ll want to jump on any opportunity to nab this weapon.
It’s the Freedom-Sworn sword!
Stats and Effects
The Freedom-Sworn sword’s Base ATK is the highest in our ranks and is definitely on the higher end of all swords in the game. It tops out at 608, with a secondary Elemental Mastery stat of 198. Finding better stats than this is going to be pretty difficult, hence why the Freedom-Sworn is so high on our list.
This weapon’s main effect, Revolutionary Chorale, is a little complicated, so new players may have a hard time understanding it. With a little practice, you’ll get the hang of it in no time. Revolutionary Chorale increases DMG by a base of 10%. In addition, when Kazuha triggers an Elemental Reaction, he will gain a Sigil of Rebellion. Sigils can be gained up to once every 0.5 seconds, even if he isn’t on the field.
When gaining a second Sigil of Rebellion, both Sigils will be consumed and create the Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance buff. Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance lasts for 12 seconds and will increase all party members’ Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG by 16%. This buff will also increase ATK DMG by 20%.
Since Kazuha has such high potential for Plunging DMG, this is a fantastic buff for him even without the 20% ATK buff to the rest of your party.
Drawbacks
Like so many other 5-star weapons, the Freedom-Sworn’s biggest drawback is that it is fairly difficult to come by. Not as much as some of the other weapons on our list, but it’s still not easy. Players who don’t already have this blade will need to wait for the next time it is featured in an Epitome Invocation banner.
After obtaining the sword, players will need to get used to knowing when the Song of Resistance buff is in effect, which can be a little tricky. It’s luckily not too hard, since only two Sigils of Rebellion are needed. Kazuha triggers Elemental Reactions without even trying most of the time, so gaining Sigils will be a breeze, but it is still something to keep in mind.
Materials
To fully ascend the Freedom-Sworn sword, you will need the following materials:
- 225k Mora
- 5 Fetters of the Dandelion Gladiator (2-star weapon material)
- 14 Chains of the Dandelion Gladiator (3-star weapon material)
- 14 Shackles of the Dandelion Gladiator (4-star weapon material)
- 6 Dream of the Dandelion Gladiator (5-star weapon material)
- 23 Chaos Device (2-star enemy drop)
- 27 Chaos Circuit (3-star enemy drop)
- 41 Chaos Core (4-star enemy drop)
- 15 Divining Scroll (1-star enemy drop)
- 23 Sealed Scroll (2-star enemy drop)
- 27 Forbidden Curse Scroll (3-star enemy drop)
