The Tone Deaf Bard of Monstadt may seem like a harmless fellow chasing his next bottle of booze, but we all know his true identity. Venti is none other than the powerful Anemo Archon, Barbatos! Just because he prefers a lyre to a bow doesn’t mean he doesn’t need one. That’s why we’re here to help you choose the best weapons for Venti in Genshin Impact.
Foreword on the Best Weapons for Venti
When it comes to Swirl Reactions and crowd control it’s hard to beat Venti. His Talents can summon a veritable hurricane to the field and deal tons of damage. Finding the right weapon for the Anemo Archon can be a bit hard, though.
With the right weapon, Venti is an incredible asset to any team. With the wrong weapon…well, he’ll be stuck blowing harmless puffs of wind and leaving your whole team vulnerable. That’s why we have a list of the top five weapons for Venti in Genshin Impact to help you unleash the full might of Barbatos.
We cover the best 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star weapons available for Venti and how you can get them. Unfortunately, not every weapon is going to be easy to get, and some may not even be available again for some time.
Don’t sweat it though, we’ve got options available for everyone no matter your playstyle or how frequently you log on. Whether you’re a newer player, strictly free-to-play, or a straight up whale, we’ll help you find a great weapon in no time.
How to Choose a Weapon for Venti in Genshin Impact
Before we get into specific weapon recommendations, let’s make sure we’re all on the same page when it comes to what even makes a weapon good.
A good weapon for one character may not be the best fit for another, so we’re going to quickly go over the basics of weapons in general and what to look for when it comes to Venti specifically.
When you first start looking into all the different weapon options out there it can be pretty overwhelming. That’s why we have this guide to simplify things and help you figure out the most important bits.
Stats
No matter what kind of weapon you’re working with in Genshin Impact, there are going to be a few constants. The first is that you want to focus on weapons of 3-star rarity and higher. 1-star and 2-star weapons just aren’t very good.
Unlike higher rarity weapons, 1-star and 2-star weapons only have a Base ATK stat. 3-star rarity weapons and higher have passive effects and secondary stats on top of a Base ATK stat. Of course, higher rarity weapons are more difficult to get, but they’re not so hard to come by that they aren’t worth waiting for.
In general, the primary stat of every weapon is going to be a Base ATK stat. The secondary stat can vary somewhat. The main effect of each weapon will also typically vary from weapon to weapon. Secondary bow stats can be any one of the following:
- ATK%
- CRIT DMG%
- CRIT Rate%
- Elemental Mastery
- Energy Recharge
- HP%
- Physical DMG Bonus%
While there have not been any DEF% bows added to the game as of Version 3.3, it seems likely one will be added eventually.
Catering Venti’s Weapon to His Best Roles
When it comes to Venti builds, there are two that work well with his Talents and abilities. The overall best is going to be a Sub-DPS role. As a Sub-DPS Venti won’t be on the field very often and will mostly focus on triggering Swirl Reactions with his Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill.
Most players will probably have Venti in this role, and as such will want to focus on upping his Elemental Mastery first and foremost. After that, increasing his Energy Recharge isn’t a bad idea. Just make sure you don’t increase it too much. At a certain point, Venti just doesn’t gain much from his Energy Recharge. His long Elemental Burst Cooldown will make too much Energy Recharge redundant eventually.
For players wanting to use Venti more actively, though, an on-field DPS build can also be very effective. These builds will still want to focus on Elemental Mastery somewhat, but should prioritize CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG first and foremost.
Both builds are incredibly useful for crowd control and triggering mass Elemental Reactions with Venti’s Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill.
Takeaway
The best weapons for Venti in Genshin Impact will vary depending on the type of build players want to make. In general, though, remember that for higher damage with off-field Swirl Reactions, high Elemental Mastery is needed.
For more DMG while in an active on-field role, it’s better to focus on CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG. ATK% and Elemental Mastery can complement these builds as well, but it can be tricky to focus on increasing so many stats at once.
5 Best Weapons for Venti in Genshin Impact, Ranked
Let’s finally get into the actual weapon recommendations! We’ve covered the basics, so you should know what you’re looking for now. Without further delay, these are the top five best weapons for Venti in Genshin Impact.
5/5
Raven Bow (3-Star Bow)
Kicking off our list of the best weapons for Venti in Genshin Impact is the perfect bow for beginners. While you will have to wish for it, it shouldn’t be too hard to get, and is a very simple weapon that can help you start getting used to the numerous combat mechanics in game.
Stats and Effects
The Raven Bow’s Base ATK caps at 448, which is actually pretty good for a 3-star weapon. Even some 4-star weapons have similar Base ATK stats. While the Base ATK is decent, what’s far more important is the secondary stat, which increases Venti’s Elemental Mastery stat by 94. This isn’t the best stat increase, but we’ll take what we can get. There aren’t many Elemental Mastery bows to choose from, so we can only be so picky with their stats.
The Raven Bow’s main effect, Bane of Flame and Water, increases Venti’s DMG against enemies affected by Hydro or Pyro by 12%. Higher refinement can increase this DMG boost up to 24%. While this effect is a bit limited, with the right party members, it’s easy to get a constant DMG buff. Especially if you’ve got characters like Barbara or Kokomi on your team.
The nice thing about this bow is that it encourages players to lean into Elemental Reactions, which is exactly what you want to do with Venti. His Talents are made for dealing high Elemental Reaction DMG, specifically high Swirl Reaction DMG.
Drawbacks
While the stats are the type players want to look for when it comes to weapons for Venti, they’re kind of low. There are not many other Elemental Mastery bows in the game, but there are ones out there that have better stats and effects, which makes them worth investing in if you haven’t already.
Another drawback to the Raven Bow is that it is a 3-star weapon. Its stats will always be rather lackluster. That, and players can accidentally consume the weapon itself by upgrading other weapons if they aren’t careful. If you aren’t paying attention or don’t have them locked, 3-star weapons are used as upgrade fodder by default.
Accidentally destroying weapons can make them pretty hard to keep on hand and refine. This of course doesn’t apply to weapons that are currently equipped, but it’s still something to keep in mind.
Materials
To fully ascend the Raven Bow, you will need the following materials:
- 105k Mora
- 2 Tile of Decarabian’s Tower(2-star weapon material)
- 6 Debris of Decarabian’s City (3-star weapon material)
- 6 Fragment of Decarabian’s Epic (4-star weapon material)
- 3 Shattered Piece of Decarabian’s Dream (5-star weapon material)
- 10 Heavy Horn (2-star enemy drop)
- 12 Black Bronze Horn (3-star enemy drop)
- 18 Black Crystal Horn (4-star enemy drop)
- 6 Firm Arrowhead (1-star enemy drop)
- 10 Sharp Arrowhead (2-star enemy drop)
- 12 Weathered Arrowhead (3-star enemy drop)
4/5
Windblume Ode (4-Star Bow)
The next spot on our list of the best weapons for Venti in Genshin Impact is our most free-to-play friendly option. It was a featured event weapon and was given to everyone who completed the 2021 Windblume Festival event. Ironically, that also makes it one of the hardest to obtain weapons on our list.
Stats and Effects
Just like the last weapon on our list, the Windblume Ode is another Elemental Mastery bow. Its Base ATK can reach up to 510 and its secondary stat increases Venti’s Elemental Mastery by 165.
Already, its stats alone make it a better option than the Raven Bow (if you’re lucky enough to have the Windblume Ode, anyway). Its main effect, Windblume Wish, increases Venti’s ATK by 16% after using his Elemental Skill, which is pretty good. As an event weapon, though, most players who have it probably made sure to grab the refinement materials, too.
At Refinement Level 5, the Windblume Ode’s ATK increase shoots up to 32%, which makes it a very easy to use weapon for either Venti’s CRIT build or the more standard Sub-DPS Swirl build.
The ATK boost and the Elemental Mastery stat gives players a nice balance between Venti’s two best builds.
Drawbacks
While this weapon is free-to-play friendly, it is also currently impossible to get if you don’t already have it. It’s possible Hoyoverse will re-release the weapon in a banner or in another Windblume event, but we’ve yet to see event weapons come around again. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Another drawback to the Windblume Ode is that there are better weapon options out there that are easier to get for players willing to spend a few primogems. The ATK buff isn’t all that great for Sub-DPS Swirl builds, which is where Venti shines most. Not to mention, other weapons exist that cater more to Elemental Reactions.
If you have the Windblume Ode, it’s a decent weapon for Venti but if you have one of the higher ranked weapons on our list, we suggest using one of them.
Materials
To fully ascend the Windblume Ode, you will need the following materials:
- 150k Mora
- 3 Fetters of the Dandelion Gladiator (2-star weapon material)
- 9 Chains of the Dandelion Gladiator (3-star weapon material)
- 9 Shackles of the Dandelion Gladiator (4-star weapon material)
- 4 Dream of the Dandelion Gladiator (5-star weapon material)
- 15 Dead Ley Line Branch (2-star enemy drop)
- 18 Dead Ley Line Leaves (3-star enemy drop)
- 27 Ley Line Sprout (4-star enemy drop)
- 10 Whopperflower Nectar (1-star enemy drop)
- 15 Shimmering Nectar (2-star enemy drop)
- 18 Energy Nectar (3-star enemy drop)
3/5
Skyward Harp (5-Star Bow)
Taking the third spot in our list of the top five weapons for Venti in Genshin Impact is also our first 5-star bow on the list! The Skyward Harp is one of the Anemo Archon’s many signature weapons and fits best with an on-field playstyle.
Stats and Effects
As a 5-star weapon, it should come as no surprise that the Skyward Harp has a high Base ATK. Topping out at 674, it actually has the highest Base ATK on our list and one of the highest Base ATK stats out of all bows in the game, too.
After its high Base ATK, the Skyward Harp also increases Venti’s CRIT Rate by 22.1%. Its main effect, Echoing Ballad, then increases his CRIT DMG by 20% and all of Venti’s hits have a 60% chance to deal 125% AOE Physical ATK DMG. The AOE Physical ATK DMG can occur up to once every 4 seconds.
These stats and effect obviously aren’t geared toward an off field Sub-DPS Swirl role. They are perfect for an offensive on-field build, though. With the right artifacts and team, the Skyward Harp is definitely one of the strongest weapons for Venti in Genshin Impact. There are few other weapon options that will offer anywhere near as much personal DMG for the Anemo Archon.
DPS Venti builds will definitely want to get the Skyward Harp if they can.
Drawbacks
Unfortunately — as is the case with most 5-star weapons — it can be tricky to actually get the Skyward Harp bow. Luckily, the Skyward Harp is always available through the Wanderlust Invocation Standard Banner.
There are sixteen different 5-star Wishes players can get through the Standard Banner. Ten are 5-star weapons, and of those weapons, just two are 5-star bows. It may take awhile, but odds are, you’ll get it eventually. It will probably just take a while.
After the low odds of actually getting the Skyward Harp, the biggest drawback to this particular weapon is that it doesn’t fit very well with Venti’s Sub-DPS Swirl builds. Players will need to look over their build and make changes as needed if they decide to equip Venti with the Skyward Harp.
Materials
To fully ascend the Skyward Harp, you will need the following materials:
- 225k Mora
- 5 Boreal Wolf’s Milk Tooth (2-star weapon material)
- 14 Boreal Wolf’s Cracked Tooth (3-star weapon material)
- 14 Boreal Wolf’s Broken Fang (4-star weapon material)
- 6 Boreal Wolf’s Nostalgia (5-star weapon material)
- 23 Dead Ley Line Branch (2-star enemy drop)
- 27 Dead Ley Line Leaves (3-star enemy drop)
- 41 Ley LIne Sprout (4-star enemy drop)
- 15 Firm Arrowhead (1-star enemy drop)
- 23 Sharp Arrowhead (2-star enemy drop)
- 27 Weathered Arrowhead (3-star enemy drop)
2/5
The Stringless (4-Star Bow)
It’s incredibly rare to see, but our second best bow when it comes to weapons for Venti in Genshin Impact is a 4-star weapon!
The Stringless bow is honestly almost on par with the number one bow on our list, so you really can’t go wrong with it. Its stats are decent, but its incredible abilities are what makes it so good.
Stats and Effects
Admittedly, the Stringless’ Base ATK isn’t the highest. At only a max of 510, it’s not that much better than the 3-star Raven Bow we went over earlier. Its secondary stat, Elemental Mastery, increases Venti’s stat by 165, which is one of the highest available Elemental Mastery weapon stats in the game.
What really makes the Stringless bow so good, though, is its main effect. Arrowless Song increases Venti’s Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 24%. This simple effect is incredibly efficient at dealing a ton of DMG, since most of Venti’s DMG comes from those Talents. At higher Refinement levels, this Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG boost can even reach up to an astounding 48%!
That kind of buff isn’t even something you can get from artifacts. It’s also always active, so you don’t need to worry about setting up sigils or meeting specific conditions. Which makes this weapon both effective and very user friendly even to newer players.
While the Stringless isn’t available without Wishing, it is an incredibly common Wish drop, so most players will be able to get their hands on it without too much trouble, even just by trying to get a different character or weapon. This also means it’s pretty easy to Refine and get the increased DMG bonus.
Drawbacks
There aren’t really any drawbacks to the Stringless. The biggest thing is that it works slightly better with a Sub-DPS Swirl build than the on-field CRIT build. Both its effect and stats are geared toward increasing Elemental Reactions rather than dealing Normal Attack or Charged Attack DMG.
While that’s not necessarily a true drawback, it is something to keep in mind, especially if your build is geared toward the on-field playstyle.
As 4-star weapons go, though, this is hands down one of the best.
Materials
To fully ascend the Stringless, you will need the following materials:
- 150k Mora
- 3 Tile of Decarabian’s Tower (2-star weapon material)
- 9 Debris of Decarabian’s City (3-star weapon material)
- 9 Fragment of Decarabian’s Epic (4-star weapon material)
- 4 Shattered Piece of Decarabian’s Dream (4-star weapon material)
- 15 Heavy Horn (2-star enemy drop)
- 18 Black Bronze Horn (3-star enemy drop)
- 27 Black Crystal Horn (4-star enemy drop)
- 10 Firm Arrowhead (1-star enemy drop)
- 15 Sharp Arrowhead (2-star enemy drop)
- 18 Weathered Arrowhead (3-star enemy drop)
1/5
Elegy for the End (5-Star Bow)
We’ve finally come to the end of our list and the overall best bow when it comes to weapons for Venti in Genshin Impact!
This 5-star bow is phenomenal not only for our Tone Deaf Bard, but for his whole party, too. It offers buffs for your party along with great stats that other bows just don’t have.
Stats and Effects
The Elegy for the End bow has a pretty high Base ATK stat. Not quite as high as the Skyward Harp bow, but still topping out at a respectable 608. That means decent Normal ATK DMG from Venti without using his Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst.
The secondary stat for this weapon increases Venti’s Energy Recharge by an impressive 55.1%, which is almost more than enough on its own without needing support from artifacts or other party members.
The biggest reason to pick the Elegy for the End bow, though, is its main effect. The Parting Refrain increases Venti’s Elemental Mastery by a base of 60. Additionally, when Venti’s Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst hits enemies, he gains a Sigil of Remembrance. When four Sigils of Remembrance are obtained, they will be consumed and grant the whole party the “Millennial Movement: Farewell Song” buff. Characters with this buff will have their Elemental Mastery temporarily increased by 100 and their ATK increased by 20%.
This means the Elegy for the End is able to consistently increase not just Venti’s Elemental Mastery, but the whole party’s Elemental Mastery while granting an ATK boost to boot. For a Sub-DPS character, this is a fantastic weapon and the stat buff works incredibly well with Venti’s Talents, too.
Drawbacks
Unlike the Skyward Harp 5-star bow, the Elegy for the End bow is only available during limited time weapon banners. That means it’s tricky to know when the bow will be available. The upside is that it usually runs alongside Venti’s character banners, so players who really want to power up their favorite bard can save their primogems for his next re-run.
The downside means that if you don’t already have Venti (or if you want to level up his Constellation), it means spending even more primogems to get him and his weapon at the same time.
Otherwise, there aren’t really many downsides to the Elegy for the End bow. It has a high Base ATK, increases Venti’s Energy Recharge, and even increases the whole party’s Elemental Mastery stat. It’s great for both on-field and off-field playstyles, and is very conducive for popping off powerful Elemental Bursts.
Materials
To fully ascend the Elegy for the End, you will need the following materials:
- 225k Mora
- 5 Boreal Wolf’s Milk Tooth (2-star weapon material)
- 14 Boreal Wolf’s Cracked Tooth (3-star weapon material)
- 14 Boreal Wolf’s Broken Fang (4-star weapon material)
- 6 Boreal Wolf’s Nostalgia (5-star weapon material)
- 23 Heavy Horn (2-star enemy drop)
- 27 Black Bronze Horn (3-star enemy drop)
- 41 Black Crystal Horn (4-star enemy drop)
- 15 Recruit’s Insignia (1-star enemy drop)
- 23 Sergeant’s Insignia (2-star enemy drop)
- 27 Lieutenant’s Insignia (3-star enemy drop)
