Do you want to ascend Lisa but are out of Valberries? No worries! We have an easy guide to satisfy all your Valberry needs in Genshin Impact. We’ll cover where to find them, the best farming route, what you can use them for, and even the best character to farm with! That way, you’ll never have to wonder where to find Valberries again.
Let’s get started!
What is a Valberry?
A Valberry is a 1-star item in Genshin Impact that is mainly used for character ascension. They can be found growing in clumps of four in the mountain wilds northeast of Mondstadt. However, since they are spread out, it can be somewhat annoying to locate them.
Like most other plant items in the game, they respawn every 48 hours. This means it can be tough to find more once you have exhausted the usual spots.
Luckily, we’re here to guide you through the best places to find them! Below, you will even find a Genshin Impact Valberry map that is sure to keep you stocked up for all your Valberry needs.
Best Valberry Locations in Genshin Impact
The best (and only) Valberry locations in Genshin Impact are in the northeastern part of Mondstadt. They’re a regional specialty, so they cannot be found in other nations. Luckily, that makes farming them somewhat easier.
Aside from finding them in the wild, there are also a couple of other methods to obtain them which we will go over later.
Stormbearer Mountains
The Stormbearer Mountains are hands down the best places to find Valberries in Genshin Impact. Not only does it have the most Valberries to be found, they are also located pretty close to each other and climbing can (somewhat) be kept to a minimum.
To start farming here, just teleport to the Stormbearer Mountain waypoint (just north of the Starfell Lake Statue of Seven.) Valberry plants can be found to the north, south, east, and west of this waypoint, so there’s really no way to go wrong.
If you completely clear out the Stormbearer Mountains, you should be able to find a whopping 15 Valberry plants, which translates to 60 Valberries.
Stormbearer Point
If the Valberries around the Stormbearer Mountains weren’t enough, you can head east over to Stormbearer Point.
Unfortunately, the Stormbearer Point waypoint isn’t quite as close to the Valberries in the area like near the Mountains. Luckily, there are still a few plants worth farming in this area though. Just head north from the waypoint to the edge of the cliffs and you should see the first Valberry plant. From there continue heading east along the cliffs.
You should be able to find four Valberry plants in the area, totaling 16 Valberries.
Valberry Farming Route
The best farming route for collecting Valberries begins at the Stormbearer Mountain teleport waypoint. Then head southeast to the first Valberry plant. Players can collect three more plants by heading east before changing course and going north toward the bay.
After finding two more Valberry plants, cross the water to the west to find another plant on the other side. Follow the water north to another Valberry plant and follow the cliffs west before teleporting back to the waypoint you started at.
You can then visit the remaining six Valberry plants in this area by going north and then heading east toward the water. Stop before jumping off the cliffs and head south along them instead. You’ll want to visit the upper Valberry plant before continuing southeast and following the lower cliffs along the water.
After that, you can teleport to the Stormbearer Point waypoint and head due north to the cliffs there. Follow the cliffs to the east to collect the last few remaining Valberries, and you should have collected 74 Valberries.
Valberry Uses
In general, Valberries are an item with pretty limited use in the game so far. They can’t be used in conventional cooking, weapon ascension, forging, or even commissions. So why bother farming them at all? Because when you need them, you’re going to need a lot of them.
Luckily, we’ve already gone over the best Valberry locations in Genshin Impact up above. We suggest grabbing a couple whenever you’re in the area, so you don’t have to frantically go farming for them when you need them.
Character Ascension
The primary use for Valberry is character ascension. It takes 168 Valberries to ascend a single character, and there are currently 3 characters that require them as of Version 3.7.
- Lisa (4-star)
- Noelle (4-star)
- Rosaria (4-star)
All of these Valberry-needing characters are good to have in the early game too, which means most players will need to know where to find them at some point.
Furnishing Material
The secondary use for Valberries in Genshin Impact is for creating furnishings in the Serenitea Pot.
There are not any furniture blueprints that call for Valberries specifically, but they are one of the few items that can be used to create dyes. Red dye specifically. One Valberry will create one Red Dye item which can be used in around 100 different furniture items.
The other items that can be used to create Red Dye are Carrots and Sunsettia, which are both a bit more versatile than Valberry.
Alternative Ways to Get Valberry in Genshin Impact
While gathering them in the wild is the most the straight-forward method, you can also obtain Valberries from two other sources in Genshin Impact.
Buy Them From Shops
Like many other resources within Genshin Impact, you can use Mora to purchase Valberries from certain shops in the game.
While shops are a fast method to obtain in game resources, they usually come with restrictions. Many shops have long stock refresh times, limit the quantity of available items to small amounts, or both. Which makes it hard to rely on them if you need a large amount of certain items.
Chloris: Monstadt
As of Version 3.7 there is only one shop where you can purchase Valberries.
By heading Northeast of Windrise in Mondstadt, players can purchase up to 5 Valberries every 3 days for 1,000 Mora a piece from the NPC Chloris. While this is a quick and easy way to grab some extra Valberries, this is also the least efficient method to obtain them.
It can also be a pain to track Chloris down since she tends to move around a bit. She does stick to one general area but has five different locations that she can appear in within said area.
Grow Them in the Serenitea Pot
When it comes to getting Valberry (and most other plants) in Genshin Impact, the Serenitea Pot is honestly one of the best resources.
For those who don’t know, the Serenitea Pot is a personal realm players can customize however they like. You can craft furniture, swap out buildings, interact with all the characters you’ve obtained, show off certain types of fish you’ve caught, and even grow some harvestable plants.
For Valberry specifically, you’ll need to purchase the item A Path of Value: Jade Harvesting. You can purchase a max of two for 300 Realm Currency. Each item will provide four gardening slots where you can plant a variety of seeds, including Valberry.
Each Valberry seed will produce a full Valberry plant, which means four harvestable Valberries per slot and a total of 16 per Jade Field. Valberries will be harvestable after growing for 2 days and 22 hours (70 hours in total). This is slower than the respawn time in the wild, but you won’t need to waste any time running around Mondstadt either.
Realm Depot
The easiest way to get some Valberry seeds in Genshin Impact is through the Realm Depot. To access it, all you need to do is interact with Tubby the teapot spirit within your Serenitea Pot.
Select the Realm Depot option and head to the “Creatures of the Realm” tab. This tab allows you to purchase 5 of each type of currently available seed. Regardless of seed type, each seed will cost 5 Realm Currency so it will take just 25 to purchase the maximum amount.
Unfortunately, if you want more seeds from the Realm Depot, you’ll need to wait until the shop’s refresh time. Which won’t happen until the server resets at the end of each week.
Don’t be too discouraged though. Five seeds may not sound like a lot but it does mean 20 incredibly easy to obtain Valberries.
Seed Dispensary
If the wild isn’t enough, the second best way to get Valberry in Genshin Impact is to gather seeds while harvesting wild Valberry plants.
All you need to do in order to collect Valberry seeds yourself is to equip the Seed Dispensary gadget before you harvest a Valberry in the wild. Each Valberry collected will still be added to your inventory like normal, but you’ll also get a Valberry seed every time with the Seed Dispensary equipped.
So as long as you have your Seed Dispensary handy, you can nab four seeds per Valberry plant!
The Seed Dispensary does have a limit though and will only hold up to 20 seeds of the same type at once. Which means you’ll definitely want to swing by your Serenitea Pot for some gardening before you start farming.
Best Character to Find Valberry
Farming Valberry plants in Genshin Impact is pretty easy since they grow in clusters of four. That doesn’t mean it’s always easy to find the exact location of every Valberry plant in the wild though.
If you’re in the general area and are still struggling to find the Valberry nearby, you can always fall back on Exploration Talents.
The best character to use while farming any region specific resource in Mondstadt is the 5-star character Klee. She is a limited run character so many players may not have her but for those that do she can be a huge time saver when farming.
Thanks to her Utility Passive Talent “All of My Treasures!”, Mondstadt unique resources will be displayed on your minimap.
While you won’t be able to tell what resources are from the mini-map alone, you will at least know where they are. If you’re near an area where Valberries can be found, there’s a very good chance that’s what’s showing up on your mini-map!
