No team in Genshin Impact is complete without a Support character. Someone to heal the DPS during a tough boss fight or protect the team by throwing up a shield. Whatever kind of Support you want, there are plenty of options. That’s why we came up with a list of the 10 best Support characters in Genshin Impact!
10 Best Support Characters in Genshin Impact, Ranked
The rankings we have here are based pretty generally on versatility, ease of use, and buffing abilities. While most of the characters on our list are 5-stars, we do also include some 4-stars as well. Regardless of rarity, though, we considered characters based on their fully leveled abilities with Constellation Level 0.
The purpose of our ranking is to help explain the best Support characters so players know which are worth Wishing for and building. At the end of the day, though, the most important thing is to find characters you enjoy playing.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s get into the 10 best Support characters in Genshin Impact!
10/10
Diona (4-Star) – Cryo Bow
Starting off our list of the 10 best Support characters in Genshin Impact is everyone’s favorite underaged bartender, Diona!
She may seem grouchy most of the time, but she’s a good kid with a strong sense of morals. As long as you’re not involved with Monstadt’s wine industry, you probably won’t have any problems with her.
What Makes Diona So Good?
Diona is one of the few characters in the game who can both shield and heal your party, which makes her a huge asset to any team.
Her Elemental Burst Signature Mix deals AOE Cryo DMG and creates a Drunken Mist field. Within the field, enemies take continuous Cryo DMG while allies have their HP continuously regenerated. This makes it an effective way to deal Cryo DMG to large groups of enemies while also healing your party.
Diona’s Elemental Skill, Icy Paws, shoots off a number of Icy Paws that deal Cryo DMG to enemies. They also form a shield around all allied party members on a hit. The shield’s DMG absorption scales with Diona’s Max HP and can be increased by holding her Elemental Skill. The duration of the shield differs depending on the number of Icy Paws that hit enemies.
For players who don’t have a reliable healer or shielder on their team, Diona is a great fit. Her easy Cryo application is also very helpful on teams with a Hydro DPS or Sub-DPS since she’ll be able to freeze enemies very consistently.
As a 4-star character, Diona is also much easier to get than most of the other characters on this list. This also makes increasing her Constellation much easier.
Drawbacks
While Diona is a pretty good Support character, her DMG potential is pretty low. Her base stats are also not that great, unfortunately, so players will need to put some thought into her build to use her most effectively.
Aside from her low stats and DMG potential, players should also be aware that when using Diona’s shield, their active character will have Cryo applied to them for a short time. While that’s not usually a big deal, it can be disastrous when coming into contact with other elements.
Players should be especially careful around water and Hydro enemies, lest they get Frozen in combat.
Best Artifact Sets for Support Diona
Diona’s best artifacts will prioritize the following stats:
- Energy Recharge
- HP%
- Healing Bonus
The best artifacts for Diona are a two-piece mix of the 5-star Tenacity of the Millelith and the 5-star Emblem of Severed Fate. The two-piece effects from these sets increase her HP and Energy Recharge respectively, which is perfect for increasing the efficacy of her Elemental Burst.
As a 4-star alternative artifact set, we recommend The Exile set. It also increases her Energy Recharge but the four-piece effect generates Energy for the rest of the party, rather than increasing Diona’s healing ability.
9/10
Sucrose (4-Star) – Anemo Catalyst
Coming in at number nine on our list of the best Support characters in Genshin Impact is one of Monstadt’s up and coming alchemists! She seems timid and soft-spoken, but her lore suggests there may be a darker side beneath it all. We’re talking about Sucrose!
Sucrose was the first Anemo Catalyst wielder in the game, long before Heizou or Scaramouche (aka the Wanderer) were introduced.
What Makes Sucrose So Good?
In general, Catalyst wielders are fantastic Support characters. Most of the time, their main purpose is to provide quick Elemental Reactions, which will seriously boost DMG.
Sucrose in particular is a great character to have on your team for Swirl Reactions. Her Elemental Skill, Astable Anemohypostasis Creation – 6308, tosses out a small Wind Spirit that pulls enemies and objects toward it. Once pulled in, enemies are launched into the air and dealt Anemo DMG.
Even if the damage isn’t great, Sucrose’s Elemental Skill is fantastic for grouping up enemies. Dense enemy clusters are easy pickings for high DMG Elemental Bursts from other party members. Even if their Elemental Burst isn’t ready, being able to hit so many enemies in a single blow isn’t an opportunity any player wants to pass up.
Sucrose’s Elemental Burst, Forbidden Creation – Isomer 75 / Type II, tosses out a large Wind Spirit, which takes the form of a giant butterfly. This butterfly’s massive wing flaps draw in nearby enemies and objects, launching them within an AOE and dealing Anemo DMG. Basically, it’s a bigger version of her Elemental Skill.
Unlike her Elemental Skill, though, Sucrose’s Elemental Burst has the potential for Elemental Absorption. This effect deals added Elemental DMG if Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro come into the butterfly’s AOE.
Drawbacks
The biggest drawback to Sucrose is that there are other characters who can do what she can but a lot better. She is great for creating quick Swirl Reactions, but other Anemo characters can too. Her high Energy cost Elemental Burst means it’s hard to use very frequently, and the wrong build can also mean not getting the most out of her Elemental Reactions.
Finding the right artifacts for Sucrose can also be a huge pain in the neck, since each will need to focus on Elemental Mastery. Elemental Mastery artifacts can be hard to come by, which means most players will need to spend quite a while farming to build her well. Low Elemental Mastery Sucrose can still group enemies up, but her Elemental Reaction damage leaves something to be desired.
Best Artifact Sets for Support Sucrose
Artifacts for Sucrose should prioritize the following stats:
- Elemental Mastery
- Energy Recharge
The best artifact set for Sucrose is undoubtedly the 5-star Viridescent Venerer set. It increases both Anemo and Swirl DMG while also decreasing enemies’ Elemental RES.
For players not wanting to grind the Viridescent Venerer set, a decent 4-star alternative is the Instructor set. It doesn’t increase Anemo DMG, but it does increase Elemental Mastery, which, as we established earlier, is really important for Sucrose.
8/10
Sangonomiya Kokomi (5-Star) – Hydro Catalyst
Our eighth pick in the 10 best Support characters in Genshin Impact is a brilliant strategist and the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island. It’s Sangonomiya Kokomi!
Kokomi is the young leader of all who live on Watatsumi Island. She is seemingly prepared for anything and spends most of her time attending to the problems of her people. While she doesn’t desire leadership herself, she understands that she is responsible for her people’s hopes and happiness.
What Makes Kokomi So Good?
Kokomi is undoubtedly one of the best healers in the game. She is also one of the few characters who can heal with her Elemental Skill rather than her Elemental Burst. That alone makes her pretty handy to have on your team. Added with her wide AOE Hydro application and her increased Elemental Burst healing abilities, there isn’t a character who can heal faster than her.
Kokomi’s Elemental Skill, Kurage’s Oath, summons a Bake-Kurage that takes the form of a large, watery jellyfish. Allies near the Bake-Kurage will be healed at fixed intervals, while enemies nearby are dealt Hydro DMG. The Bake-Kurage remains on field even if Kokomi is switched out, which makes it a really good way to constantly apply Hydro to numerous enemies.
Kokomi’s Elemental Burst, Nereid’s Ascension, summons the might of Watatsumi, dealing Hydro DMG to nearby enemies. Kokomi is then robed in a Ceremonial Garment that increases her Normal, Charged, and Bake-Kurage DMG based on her Max HP. While wearing the Ceremonial Garment, Kokomi’s Normal and Charged Attacks will also restore HP for all party members when she hits enemies. She can also walk on water while in this state.
Drawbacks
While Kokomi’s Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst are both incredibly useful, they do come with some serious drawbacks. Her Passive Talent, Flawless Strategy, for instance, increases her Healing Bonus by 25%, but also decreases her CRIT Rate by a whopping 100%.
Having a -100% CRIT Rate essentially means she can never CRIT at all, which is a huge obstacle to overcome when building her. It means trying to navigate artifacts and find ones that don’t have CRIT stats since they would be essentially wasted on her. Any CRIT DMG is pretty much worthless since her hits will never CRIT without serious work to overcome her Passive Talent.
A much more minor drawback is that Kokomi’s Elemental Skill applies the Wet status effect to her temporarily. It’s usually not a big deal, but when fighting enemies full of Cryo energy, it can mean being unexpectedly Frozen if you aren’t paying attention.
Best Artifact Sets for Support Kokomi
The best artifacts for Kokomi will have the following stats:
- HP%
- Energy Recharge
- Healing Bonus
There are a couple of different artifact sets that suit Kokomi. For a pure Support build, though, we suggest the 5-star Tenacity of the Millelith artifact set.
The Tenacity of the Millelith two-piece set effect will increase Kokomi’s HP, which is absolutely needed. The four-piece set effect also gives a nice boost to the ATK of party members when Kokomi’s Elemental Skill hits an enemy. Since this can be triggered even when she’s off field, it works very well with her Bake-Kurage.
In all honesty, there isn’t a great 4-star alternative artifact set for Kokomi. The best in the game currently is the Instructor set, which increases Elemental Mastery of both Kokomi and her party members.
7/10
Nahida (5-Star) – Dendro Catalyst
Buer, Lesser Lord Kusanali, the current Dendro Archon — our seventh spot on the list of the 10 best Support characters in Genshin Impact goes by many names. We’ll just call her Nahida, though.
Nahida seems to be the youngest Archon among the seven, though we won’t be writing her off over her age just yet. Being the Archon of Wisdom has definitely made her one of the most clever characters we’ve met.
What Makes Nahida So Good?
Nahida is a relatively newer character, but she’s still a great Support to have. Firstly, her Elemental Skill, All Schemes to Know, is a multi-purpose attack that marks up to eight enemies with Seeds of Skandha.
Enemies marked by Seeds of Skandha will be linked together. After triggering Elemental Reactions or when taking DMG by Dendro Cores, Nahida will unleash Tri-Karma Purification on marked enemies. Tri-Karm Purification deals Dendo DMG, which scales with Nahida’s Elemental Mastery and ATK.
Nahida’s Passive Talent, On All Things Meditated, increases the utility of her Elemental Skill. When her Skill is held, Nahida enters Aiming Mode. In combat this allows her to mark enemies with Seeds of Skandha.
Outside of combat, Nahida can also mark harvestable objects and instantaneously gather them thanks to her Passive Talent. That means Nahida is able to gather items on cliffs and buildings without needing to climb at all. She can also gather multiple items at once this way, minimizing the amount of time players need to spend foraging.
Another effect of Nahida’s Passive Talent on her Elemental Skill is that using it on NPCs in Sumeru allows Nahida to read their minds. This is mostly useful for unlocking new voice lines. It doesn’t seem to have any other applications, but it’s still pretty cool.
Nahida’s Elemental Burst, Illusory Heart, manifests the Shrine of Maya. Active characters within the Shrine of Maya will have their Elemental Mastery increased by 25% of the highest Elemental Mastery stat in the party.
Depending on the Elemental makeup of your team, the Shrine of Maya can also gain different effects. Having Pyro on your team will increase the DMG dealt by Tri-Karma Purification. Hydro party members increase the Shrine of Maya’s duration. Electro party members will decrease the time between Tri-Karma Purifications.
Drawbacks
The biggest drawback for Nahida is that she is very Dendro and Elemental Reaction focused. In teams not built for Elemental Reactions, she won’t do very well. This is especially true when she’s on teams with Anemo and Geo characters (neither element Reacts with Dendro).
Nahida’s biggest strengths are applying Dendro effects while off field, so it’s important for her teams to make use of that. On teams without high Elemental Mastery or not geared toward Elemental Reactions, she’s not going to be very strong.
Nahida’s base HP is also pretty low, so be cautious when bringing her onto the field. Switching to her at the wrong time can easily mean taking out a huge chunk of her HP.
Best Artifact Sets for Support Nahida
Players will want to focus on the following stats for Nahida’s artifacts:
- Elemental Mastery
- Dendro DMG Bonus
The best artifact set for Nahida is the 5-star Deepwood Memories artifact set. The two-piece effect increases Dendro DMG, and the four-piece effect decreases Dendro RES after hitting enemies with an Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst. This effect kicks in even if Nahida is off field.
Players who haven’t unlocked the Spire of Solitary Enlightenment Domain yet can instead use the 4-star Instructor artifact set. The increased Elemental Mastery will work nicely, though we really do suggest farming for 5-star artifacts.
6/10
Mona (5-Star) – Hydro Catalyst
Taking the sixth spot on our list of the 10 best Support characters in Genshin Impact is our favorite Astrologer, Mona Megistus!
Mona is an incredibly intelligent and prideful woman who never seems to have more than a few Mora in her pocket. Despite her lack of funds, Mona is always willing to help out her friends and even treat them to a good meal…when she can afford it, anyway.
What Makes Mona So Good?
Thanks to her Alternate Sprint Talent, Illusory Torrent, Mona is one of just a few characters who are able to run over water at will. This makes her incredibly useful for exploring Teyvat and crossing deep rivers without needing to summon the Waverider.
When exiting her sprint, Mona applies the Wet status to nearby enemies, which is also pretty handy. Keep in mind that this status effect doesn’t deal damage on its own, though. That’s why you’ll want to have other characters in your team who can apply other Elemental effects while off field. That way Mona can easily trigger Elemental Reactions when exiting her sprint.
Other than her Alternate Sprint, Mona’s Elemental Burst, Stellaris Phantasm, is also very good. Using her Elemental Burst applies an Illusory Bubble status to enemies in a wide AOE. Enemies with this status have the Wet effect applied and weaker enemies are rendered immobile.
When enemies under the Illusory Bubble effect take DMG, an Omen is applied and the Illusory Bubble effect is removed. Removing the effect also deals Hydro DMG. Applying an Omen to enemies grants active characters a DMG Bonus while also increasing the DMG taken by the attack that caused the Omen.
Essentially, Mona’s Elemental Burst is great for increasing the DMG dealt by heavy-hitting DPS characters. She’s an essential part of any character showcase and can boost already impressive DMG numbers.
Her Elemental Skill, Mirror Reflection of Doom, creates an Illusory Phantom of Fate. These Phantoms taunt enemies, drawing aggro while also continuously dealing Hydro DMG. When the Phantom’s duration is up, it explodes and deals AOE Hydro DMG.
Drawbacks
One of Mona’s biggest strengths is also one of her greatest weaknesses. Her Alternate Sprint is incredibly handy for traversing Teyvat, but players who aren’t used to it can easily grow frustrated.
If used improperly, it can be pretty tough to dodge using Mona’s sprint. Not to mention her sprint still uses stamina, so if you run out at the wrong time, you’ll end up drowning your whole party. Not the worst thing in the world, but still a huge inconvenience.
Outside of her sprint, Mona’s DMG potential is pretty low. She’s meant more for increasing the DMG of other characters rather than dealing it herself. Her base stats are also pretty low, which means players will need to be careful when they bring her on field during combat.
Best Artifact Sets for Support Mona
The best artifacts for Mona should focus on the following stats:
- Energy Recharge
- Hydro DMG Bonus
- CRIT Rate or DMG
For a Support build, Mona’s best artifact set is the 5-star Noblesse Oblige set. Its two-piece effect increases her Elemental Burst DMG by 20%, while the four-piece effect increases her party members’ ATK by 20% after using her Elemental Burst.
Players wanting a 4-star alternative artifact set should go with The Exile set. The increased Energy Recharge will allow less time between being able to use Mona’s Elemental Burst. The four-piece effect of the set will also provide some extra Energy for the rest of the party.
5/10
Zhongli (5-Star) – Geo Polearm
The fifth spot in our list of the 10 best Support characters in Genshin Impact goes to another Archon of Teyvat. This time, it’s the Geo Archon Morax! Morax too goes by many names, but we’ll refer to him from here on out by his current alias, Zhongli.
Zhongli is the oldest of the Seven Archons and has a vast range of knowledge accumulated over his many years. Despite his intelligence and experience, the God of Mora doesn’t seem to actually understand the value of his people’s currency, which leads to some interesting situations.
What Makes Zhongli So Good?
When it comes to shields in Genshin Impact, there isn’t a character with a stronger one than Zhongli. He is perfect for players who decide they’re done with dodging.
His Elemental Skill, Dominus Lapidis, summons a Stone Stele that radiates Geo energy. These Geo constructs intermittently deal Geo DMG to their surroundings and can be used as an elevated platform while exploring. When held, though, Zhongli creates a Jade Shield that can take just about any attack from any enemy in the game. Not only is Zhongli’s Jade Shield crazy strong, it also decreases the Elemental and Physical RES of nearby enemies by 20%.
While the Stone Stele and Jade Shield aren’t great at dealing DMG, Zhongli’s Elemental Burst helps make up for it. Planet Befall summons a huge meteor to crash down on enemies in a giant AOE. Enemies caught in the AOE will take massive Geo DMG and take on the Petrification status for a short while.
The Passive Talent Dominance of Earth also increases the DMG dealt by all of Zhongli’s attacks based on his Max HP.
Basically, Zhongli is the perfect character to have on your team if you’re worried about taking damage. He can turn anyone in your party into a tank with just one move and even help avoid certain status effects.
Drawbacks
While he is phenomenal at shielding the party, even with his Passive Talent DMG buffs, Zhongli’s DMG potential isn’t great. His Normal Attacks are pretty weak, and his Elemental Skill doesn’t do a whole lot of DMG either.
While his Elemental Burst does deal a lot of DMG, it can’t be used very often. Zhongli has a naturally low Energy regeneration, which means it takes a while to ready his Elemental Burst. Upping his Energy Recharge to more reliably use his Elemental Burst means sacrificing potential HP that would make both it and his Jade Shield stronger.
Even despite the low damage, it’s still really hard to beat his shield, making him one of the best support characters in Genshin Impact.
Best Artifact Sets for Support Zhongli
Artifact stats for Zhongli should prioritize the following:
- HP%
- Energy Recharge
The best artifact set for Zhongli is the 5-star Tenacity of the Millelith set. The 20% added HP is absolutely necessary for strong shields, and the four-piece effect of this set will increase his shield strength even more.
For a 4-star artifact set alternative we recommend the Gambler set. It won’t increase Zhongli’s shield strength, unfortunately, but it will increase the DMG dealt when creating his Jade Shield. It will also end his Elemental Skill cooldown when defeating an enemy, meaning more shield time.
4/10
Yelan (5-Star) – Hydro Bow
Coming in at number four in our list of the 10 best Support characters in Genshin Impact is Liyue’s woman of mystery. Officially, she owns a simple tea shop; unofficially, she works directly under the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing. That’s right, it’s Yelan!
Yelan is an intelligence agent who works closely with Ningguang to handle some of Liyue’s darkest affairs. While she may come off as harsh and standoffish, she has a strong sense of responsibility.
What Makes Yelan So Good?
Yelan’s Support strength is all about her Elemental Burst. Depth-Clarion Dice deals AOE Hydro DMG and summons an Exquisite Throw. This Exquisite Throw takes the form of a die and follows the active character around, attacking in conjunction with their Normal Attacks. The Exquisite Throw deals Hydro DMG based on Yelan’s Max HP and is perfect for triggering fast Elemental Reactions.
Along with her Elemental Burst, Yelan’s Elemental Skill, Lingering Lifeline, is also a fast and easy way to deal Hydro DMG. When used, Yelan runs forward more quickly than her regular sprint and trails behind a glowing blue Lifeline. This Lifeline will ensnare any enemy she passes and explode when she stops running. The explosion will deal Hydro DMG based on her max HP.
Yelan’s Elemental Skill is handy both in and out of combat since she doesn’t consume stamina while running in this state. It’s easy for her to quickly traverse Teyvat without needing to slow down to recoup stamina.
Aside from her Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill, Yelan’s Normal Attacks also have a lot of DMG potential. Using a Charged Attack allows Yelan to fire off Breakthrough Barbs, which deal AOE Hydro DMG based on her max HP. Though this Talent sees less use in Support roles than in Sub-DPS and DPS roles.
Drawbacks
The strongest part of a Support Yelan is her Elemental Burst, which doesn’t work as effectively with characters who can’t inflict Elemental DMG with Normal Attacks. It doesn’t exactly limit Yelan as a Support character, but it does mean there is missed potential depending on her team.
Another slight drawback to Yelan is that her Passive Talent, Turn Control, increases her HP based on the number of Elemental Types in the party. That doesn’t sound like a bad thing at first. It does mean needing to sacrifice potential HP for every character of the same Elemental Type, though.
Players wanting a second Hydro character will have to decide whether that character is worth the reduced 12% to Yelan’s HP.
Best Artifact Sets for Support Yelan
The best artifact stats for Yelan are as follows:
- HP%
- Hydro DMG Bonus
- Energy Recharge
The overall best artifact set for Yelan differs depending on her role in the party. For Support roles, we suggest the 5-star Noblesse Oblige artifact set. Since her Elemental Burst is so important in a Support role, the increased Elemental Burst DMG from this artifact set works very well.
For players wanting a 4-star artifact set alternative, try out The Exile. It’s great for increased Energy Recharge and Energy generation for other party members.
3/10
Raiden Shogun (5-Star) – Electro Polearm
Taking the third spot on our list of the 10 best Support characters in Genshin Impact is also the last Archon on our list. She hails from the Land of Eternity and is quite well known for her stubbornness — it’s the Raiden Shogun!
The Raiden Shogun wasn’t actually the original Electro Archon. Very few in Teyvat know that she shared the role with her twin sister. Unfortunately, her sister perished during the calamity 500 years prior to the main events of the game.
What Makes the Raiden Shogun So Good?
The Raiden Shogun is one of the most flexible characters currently in Genshin Impact. She is incredible as a DPS, Sub-DPS, and Support, which definitely makes her worth Wishing for.
Similar to Yelan, the Raiden Shogun is also able to unleash Elemental attacks in coordination with the active character. Unlike Yelan though, the Raiden Shogun is able to do so with her Elemental Skill, Transcendence: Baleful Omen.
Using her Elemental Skill, the Raiden Shogun attacks enemies with Electro DMG and grants party members the Eye of Stormy Judgement. When characters have the Eye of Stormy Judgement, all of their attacks are able to trigger the Eye’s attack. This attack deals extra AOE Electro DMG. Characters with the Eye of Stormy Judgement also have their Elemental Burst DMG increased based on the Energy Cost of the Elemental Burst.
Essentially, the Raiden Shogun can give her party members an Electro DMG buff much more frequently than Yelan. She also increases their Elemental Burst DMG at the same time, too.
A huge part of the Raiden Shogun’s kit is her Elemental Burst. Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu switches her weapon from a polearm to a sword and deals incredible AOE Electro DMG. For a short while after her initial attack, the Raiden Shogun retains her sword and her attacks are infused with Electro DMG. In this state, the Raiden Shogun is immune to Electro-Charged Reaction DMG and she regenerates Energy whenever her attacks hit enemies.
Even for players who don’t intend to use the Raiden Shogun very much, her Passive Talent, All-Preserver, can be handy to have. Thanks to this talent, when ascending Swords and Polearm weapons the Mora cost is automatically cut in half.
Drawbacks
The Raiden Shogun is geared more towards offensive combat than off-field buffs. While her Elemental Skill does still offer some nice off-field DMG, she is more suited overall towards a DPS or Sub-DPS role.
The only other downside to the Raiden Shogun is that she can’t cook. At all. If a player attempts to use her to cook, they will receive a message saying she cannot be chosen. It’s an odd yet interesting fact that doesn’t actually affect much. Luckily, any other character can be used for cooking so long as you have obtained them, whether they’re in your party or not.
Best Artifact Sets for Support Raiden
The best artifacts for the Raiden Shogun should prioritize the following stats:
- Energy Recharge
- Electro DMG Bonus
- CRIT Rate or DMG
In general, the best artifact set for the Raiden Shogun is the 5-star Emblem of Severed Fate set. Its increased Energy Recharge works well with one of her Passive Talents to boost her Electro DMG Bonus and Energy generation. The four-piece effect also increases her Elemental Burst DMG.
A good 4-star artifact set alternative is The Exile set. This set also increases Energy Recharge and party Energy regeneration after using an Elemental Burst, though not quite as much as the Emblem of Severed Fate set.
2/10
Bennett (4-Star) – Pyro Sword
You may be surprised to find that our second ranked for the 10 best Support characters in Genshin Impact is actually a 4-star character.
Despite being known for his incredibly bad luck, Bennett is definitely someone you want to have on your team. His cheerful nature and endless perseverance makes pretty much everyone want to be his friend…until his bad luck starts rubbing off on them.
What Makes Bennett So Good?
As a Support character, Bennett’s most important Talent is his Elemental Burst. Fantastic Voyage deals Pyro DMG and creates a wide Inspiration Field. Within the Inspiration Field, active characters have their health restored to 70% of their max HP. Characters with over 70% of their HP gain an ATK Bonus based on Bennett’s Base ATK.
At higher Constellation levels, all characters within the Inspiration Field gain a greater ATK bonus regardless of HP.
Even without leveling Bennett’s Constellation, at Level 10, his Elemental Burst grants a bonus equal to Bennett’s Base ATK stat. Having that kind of ATK boost within a healing field is a phenomenal way to set up a main DPS character. A direct ATK buff isn’t something many characters have — typically, buffs are geared towards Elemental DMG Bonuses.
Bennett’s Elemental Skill, Passiona Overload, strikes out at enemies with Pyro DMG. When held, Bennett can deal more Pyro DMG and also launch enemies.
Drawbacks
As mentioned above, Bennett’s Elemental Burst gets even better through Constellations. Since he is a 4-star character, that’s much less of an obstacle to overcome, but it’s still not great. Especially for free-to-play gamers who don’t want to Wish very often.
When it comes to Bennett’s Elemental Burst ATK buff, it’s important to keep in mind that it is based on his base ATK. This is calculated from his weapon and his own ATK stat prior to artifacts. No amount of ATK% artifacts will increase that buff.
Another drawback to Bennett is that his Elemental Skill can actually launch him along with enemies if held too long. Luckily, he takes no DMG from this, but it’s still pretty inconvenient to deal with in combat.
Best Artifact Sets for Support Bennett
The best artifacts for Bennett will prioritize the following stats:
- Energy Recharge
- Pyro DMG
- CRIT Rate or DMG
Bennett’s best artifact set is the 5-star Noblesse Oblige set. The increased Elemental Burst DMG and added ATK increase after using an Elemental Burst works perfectly with his already built in ATK buff.
Currently there aren’t really any good 4-star artifact options for Bennett. For players who really don’t want to farm Noblesse Oblige pieces, we suggest trying The Exile set. It’s not perfect, but it will still allow Bennett to use his Elemental Burst more often and also generate Energy for his party members.
1/10
Kaedehara Kazuha (5-Star) – Anemo Sword
Finally, we’ve reached number one of the 10 best Support characters in Genshin Impact! While he may not be the Wanderer, he’ll always be the first wanderer. If you’re not quite sure who we mean, we’re referring to none other than Kaedehara Kazuha!
Kazuha was the first playable character from Inazuma, and is a wanderer by nature. His calmness and ability to read the wind has earned him a spot aboard the Crux under Captain Beidou.
What Makes Kazuha So Good?
Kazuha’s Talents are all about Elemental Reactions and Elemental Mastery. His Elemental Burst, Kazuha Slash, deals AOE Anemo DMG and creates a large Autumn Whirlwind field. Enemies within this field will periodically take AOE Anemo DMG.
The special thing about Kazuha’s Elemental Burst, though, is that it has the Elemental Absorption property, just like Sucrose. When his Autumn Whirlwind comes into contact with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro, extra DMG of that type will be dealt to all enemies within the field.
Kazuha’s Elemental Skill, Chihayaburu, also has the potential for Elemental Absorption. When used, Kazuha pulls objects and enemies toward him before being launched into the air. If he performs a Plunging Attack before landing, Kazuha will perform a Midare Ranzen attack. Midare Ranzen Attacks that have absorbed elemental energy will deal an extra 200% ATK of the absorbed Elemental type as DMG.
Kazuha’s Passive Talents are also pretty great for buffing party members too. He both decreases stamina consumption and, more importantly, grants a boost in Elemental DMG after triggering Swirl Reactions. Thanks to Elemental Absorption, Kazuha tends to trigger a lot of Swirl Reactions. Which means he is almost constantly granting his party members Elemental DMG buffs.
On top of all of that, Kazuha’s Elemental Skill is able to be used midair. Being launched further up into the air is a fantastic skill to have while exploring. Whether it means being able to grab a regional-oculus from a tough position or just getting a head start on climbing a mountain, it’s really nice to have.
Drawbacks
In general, there aren’t a lot of drawbacks when it comes to Kazuha. The biggest thing is that his Swirl reactions have a couple of limitations. Most players probably won’t notice unless they’re facing Elemental foes, though (like the Thundering Manifestation or Slimes).
Best Artifact Sets for Support Kazuha
When it comes to the best artifacts for Kazuha, we recommend prioritizing the following stats:
- Elemental Mastery
- Anemo DMG Bonus
- CRIT Rate or DMG
Kazuha’s best artifact set is the 5-star Viridescent Venerer set. It increases his Anemo DMG as well as his Swirl DMG, which is incredibly important to his kit.
As a 4-star alternative artifact set, try out the Instructor set. It increases Elemental Mastery for both Kazuha and his party members after triggering Elemental Reactions.
