The world of Elden Ring is massive and diverse. It features a huge variety of unique locations for you to explore, some of which are mandatory for completing the story. Getting to these locations, though, can sometimes be a pain, will paths that are confusing and full of twists and turns. If you plan to complete the story, you”ll need to visit the Grand Lift of Rold. Getting there can be pretty confusing, especially if it’s your first playthrough. Luckily for you, we’ve put together this guide on how to get to the Rold Route in Elden Ring.
How to Get to the Rold Route in Elden Ring
Without further delays, let’s head right into the guide!
Defeat Morgott the Omen King
The first step into getting to the Rold Route in Elden Ring is to defeat Morgott the Omen King. He is a mandatory story boss that you will encounter in the capital city, in a courtyard just outside the gates leading to the Erdtree. If you are inside the capital and are exploring naturally, you should be able to find him on your own. He is located just after fighting the golden spirit of Godfrey.
But in case you are lost and don’t know where to look, you can click here to watch a video tutorial made by the YouTuber Sipder. If you remember the fight with Margit, then you won’t be surprised by most of his attacks as the two bosses share a closely similar move-set. After you defeat him, you will need to walk towards the Erdtree.
After you get close enough, you will be given the Grand Lift Rold’s Medallion by the NPC Melina. You will now be able to progress to the next step in this guide for finding the Rold Route in Elden Ring.
Getting to the Grand Lift of Rold
Now it’s time for the fun part…actually getting to the Grand Lift of Rold. To do this, you will want to open your map and fast-travel to the Avenue Balcony location. Once you spawn it, travel up the nearby set of stairs. This will take you to a long street. Head left after exiting the door and run down it, past the wrecked carriage. Keep running until you reach the set of big doors that are sitting ajar.
Now you should be in a more wide open area that appears to be covered in dust. Keep heading forward and up another set of stairs, these ones much wider than the ones from earlier. Be wary, there are plenty of enemies nearby for you to fight. After killing them, continue forward and look for an entrance on your left. Inside should be a wooden platform with a lever you can pull.
Now you can simply head forward and up the big set of stairs. Keep heading in this direction and you will arrive at the Grand Lift of Rold in no time!
