Warzone: The Best Perks & Packages

When it comes to Warzone 2, picking the right perks is essential. However, unlike the first Warzone, players are not allowed to create their own custom perk packages. This leaves a total of eight pre-selected perk packages to choose from, with some being incredible and others very underwhelming. In this article, we’ll be going over all eight perk packages, ranking them, and helping you figure out which one provides the best perks for you to dominate in Warzone 2!

Let’s get started.

8/8

Warden

  • Double Time
  • Strong Arm
  • Fast Hands
  • Overclock

Warden is considered the weakest package of perks in Warzone 2 for a number of reasons. The most notable reason here is that Overclock is really bad in battle royales, unlike most other perks, because Field Upgrades are not nearly as relevant here as in standard MW2.

There’s really no way for Overclock to work well in this environment, especially when compared to other options. Although Fast Hands is a decent bonus perk, it doesn’t do anything special enough to save the overall package. The presence of Strong Arm is also certainly not helping matters any.

7/8

Recon

  • Double Time
  • Tracker
  • Focus
  • Birdseye

The only reason Recon is higher than Warden is because Tracker is better than Strong Arm. The Focus perk is also okay, but it doesn’t offer anything worth picking this package over. Birdseye is a pretty mixed perk in the overall game, but it’s among the weaker perks in Warzone 2 specifically. You get very little value out of Birdseye in most games, so it’s just not worth taking. This package unfortunately falls into irrelevancy because of its ultimate perk.

6/8

Sentinel

  • Battle Hardened
  • Bomb Squad
  • Cold-Blooded
  • Overclock

Once again, we have another perk package with Overclock included, but this one isn’t quite as bad. Cold-Blooded is a much better perk than Fast Hands, so that’s an automatic improvement over Warden, if nothing else.

Cold-Blooded makes a bunch of the game’s best spotting methods (Tactical Cameras, Recon Drones, etc.) straight-up not work on the user, so it’s great to have. Battle Hardened and Bomb Squad are also a really good combo, allowing you to avoid tons of explosive damage and tactical effects. It’s not the worst package, but there are definitely better perks to take in Warzone 2.

5/8

Commando

  • Scavenger
  • Strong Arm
  • Fast Hands
  • High Alert

Commando is a really solid perk package in Warzone 2, as most of its perks are at the very least usable. Scavenger is always solid in these large game modes, and while Strong Arm is mostly useless, it doesn’t hurt. Fast Hands is very mediocre but not at all bad, and High Alert can be one of the most useful perks at times. High Alert is always going to be at least pretty good, so if that’s the kind of perk you want, then feel free to go for it.

4/8

Vanguard

  • Double Time
  • Bomb Squad
  • Resupply
  • High Alert

This is another High Alert package, but this one is slightly better. We have Double Time and Bomb Squad as the base perks here, which is great, and Resupply as well. Resupply is really strong in Warzone 2, as it allows for far more grenades than usual, which makes the late game a lot easier. High Alert fits in pretty well with this package, since it’s not geared toward any one playstyle. Unless you consider throwing lots of grenades its own playstyle (which I do).

3/8

Scout

  • Scavenger
  • Strong Arm
  • Focus
  • Ghost

Scout is the first really strong perk package on this list. Scavenger and Strong Arm are a decent combination, but Focus and Ghost is a much better one. While they don’t interact with one another too closely, Focus’ flinch reduction and Hold Breath duration makes long range fights a breeze. Pair this with Ghost and enemies also won’t be able to find you, which makes for a really fun combination that can definitely lead to some wins.

2/8

Spectre

  • Double Time
  • Tracker
  • Spotter
  • Ghost

While the last package might have been good, Spectre shows just how much potential perk packages have. The combination of Double Time and Tracker as base perks is unique but incredibly strong. Spotter is a great bonus perk for anyone, and Ghost is one of the strongest perks period in Warzone 2.

For those who want to play long range (or have to, since it’s Warzone), it doesn’t get much better than this. Spectre is a perk package that anyone can use, but for long range specialists, it is the absolute best.

1/8

Weapons Specialist

Weapons Specialist - Best Warzone 2 Perks

  • Overkill
  • Strong Arm
  • Spotter
  • Survivor

Weapons Specialist feels like it was designed to be the default perk package for Warzone 2. It’s the only perk package that has the base perk Overkill, which allows players to carry two primary weapons. This allows you to have both a close and long-range weapon, which is nearly essential for Warzone.

It also has both Spotter and Survivor, which are amongst the best perks in the game. We’ve already discussed why Spotter is so good, but Survivor equally rivals it. Being revived faster by teammates and also pinging enemies that down you is just insanely strong, and I don’t think any other perk package is able to surpass this one in general.
