Best TR-76 Geist Loadout in MW2 & Warzone | Full Build

With a new season comes new guns to level and use in Modern Warfare 2. One of which is the newest assault rifle: the TR-76 Geist. Obtained for free through the Season Six battle pass or extracted from DMZ, the Geist is a bullpup rifle chambered in 7.62. If you’ve been wondering what attachments to add to the Geist and where it fits in a loadout, then look no further. In this guide, we’ll be going over the best loadouts for the TR-76 Geist in MW2.

Let’s get started!

Loadout #1: Long Range Geist

Our first loadout will be focused on running the TR-76 Geist for long-range engagements. Luckily for us, this rifle already excels in the medium-to-long range. We’ll be sacrificing a little Mobility and Handling, but it will be worth it.

Attachments

  • Barrel: Bruen Bridle Heavy
  • Optic: AIM OP-V4
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity
  • Magazine: 45 Round Mag

For our barrel, we chose the Bruen Bridle Heavy to drastically improve our performance with this weapon at range. A buff to recoil, damage range, and bullet velocity are well worth the loss in aim-down-sight speed and movement speed.

After that, we have the AIM OP-V4 for our optics. This scope will give us the perfect picture for shooting at range without being too zoomed in beyond what the weapon can handle.

Next, we have the FTAC Ripper for our under barrel. This famous under-barrel will help us with aiming stability, recoil stability, and hip fire accuracy. It’ll make the weapon a little heavier, but it’s worth it.

After that, we have 7.62 High-Velocity rounds for our ammunition and the 45 Round Mag for our magazine. The High-Velocity rounds will make hitting distant targets easier and will make our Geist one step closer to being a laser beam. You can also always use more bullets, which is why we grab the higher mag count. The less time we need to reload the better.

Equipment

  • Tactical: Smoke Grenade
  • Lethal: Semtex

Whenever I’m running a ranged loadout, I like to bring a smoke grenade. It can be used to hide yourself if you need to escape, or blind enemies if you want to reposition. We choose the Semtex as our lethal choice here because it can be used to put pressure on any enemies who might try to rush you.

Perks

  • Base Perk 1: Overkill
  • Base Perk 2: Double Time
  • Bonus Perk: Fast Hands
  • Ultimate Perk: Ghost

We chose Overkill as our first base perk to let us grab a secondary better suited for close range. The Geist can handle itself fairly well in close range, but an SMG or pistol will be a lot more helpful if we have to engage in some CQC. We grab Double Time for our second base perk to increase our mobility a little bit, as the ability to reposition is key when fighting at long range.

After that, we take Fast Hands for our bonus perk. I usually put Fast Hands in all my loadouts because nothing beats a faster reload. After all, the faster you can reload, the faster you can get back in the fight.

Finally, we take Ghost for our ultimate perk. Not being seen on UAVs is too useful to not have. Especially if we’re primarily fighting from range and don’t want enemies to find us before we’re ready to shoot.

Loadout #2: Sniper Support Geist

Our second loadout in this guide will focus on turning our TR-76 Geist into the perfect companion for whatever sniper we bring into battle. We’ll be ignoring a lot of the Geist’s long-range capabilities to create a weapon that is lightweight and powerful enough to keep us alive while we run to new sniper positions.

Attachments

  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Pro
  • Comb: FSS Hardtop Comb
  • Rear Grip: Tactical Grip Tape
  • Magazine: 45 Round Mag

Our choice of laser is the VLK LZR 7MW. This laser is going to make sure we have decent handling and mobility allowing us to snap aim and jump out of a sprint quickly if we need to fire on someone. The visible laser is a bit of a debuff, but worth the trade-off.

After that, we add the Cronen Mini Pro as our optic. This is my scope of choice when dealing with medium range because of its clean design and the fact that it doesn’t take up a lot of the screen.

Next, we have the FSS Hardtop Comb for our comb and the Tactical Grip Tape for our rear grip. Both these attachments are going to ensure our Geist doesn’t get too heavy and that we can stay mobile when not using our sniper. They both give us sprint-to-fire speed and aim-down-sight speed, enabling us to get on target quickly when moving around the map.

Finally, we have the 45 Round Mag for our magazine. Like I said before, more bullets can never hurt. And even though our Geist is taking a backseat to whatever sniper we choose, there will be moments when we’re caught in a firefight with no chance to snipe. When that happens the higher mag count will come in handy.

Equipment

  • Tactical: Stun Grenade
  • Lethal: Semtex

Since the primary weapon of this loadout will be a sniper with the Geist as our secondary, we grab the stun grenade for our tactical. This will help us slow enemy movements down if we hit them with it making them prime for our sniper shots. We keep the Semtex as our lethal for the same reasons as before, to put pressure on enemies.

Perks

  • Base Perk 1: Overkill
  • Base Perk 2: Double Time
  • Bonus Perk: Focus
  • Ultimate Perk: Ghost

We choose Overkill as our base perk to allow us to grab our sniper of choice. Our Geist is playing support to whatever sniper you choose, so this loadout would fall apart without Overkill. We grab Double Time for our second base perk to increase mobility. Snipers are on the receiving end of a lot of airstrikes and mortars, so you’ll want to be able to run away before they land.

After that, we grab Focus for our bonus perk. This will make sure that even when under fire we can still get our sniper shots off since it reduces flinch. And we grab Ghost for our ultimate perk. The last thing we want is for people to find us in our sniper’s nest.

Loadout #3: Versatile Geist

For this loadout, we’ll be looking at making the TR-76 Geist a jack-of-all-trades weapon. Some people like to run their favorite weapon all the time, so this loadout will focus on making the Geist viable and capable in nearly every situation that you come across while playing MW2.

Attachments

  • Muzzle: Echoline GS-X
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Pro
  • Magazine: 45 Round Mag

Our first attachment on this gun is the Echoline GS-X. This muzzle not only helps us with recoil smoothness and control but also suppresses our weapon, preventing us from showing up on the radar. Perfect for when we don’t want to get spotted.

After that, we grab the VLK for our laser. This will help with the Geist’s handling to ensure we’re not too slow and can still maneuver in close quarters.

Next, we grab the FTAC Ripper for our under barrel to help our accuracy and hip fire accuracy. We also again grab the Cronen Mini Pro for our optics to avoid being stuck with iron sights. This way, we’re strong in medium and long-range engagements.

Finally, just like before, we grab the 45 Round Mag for our magazine. There can be an argument that other attachments may be better, but a larger mag has yet to fail me, so I keep putting it on my guns whenever possible.

Equipment

  • Tactical: Stim
  • Lethal: Drill Charge

For our tactical, we’ll be taking the stim, as it’s incredibly useful for keeping you alive in a pinch. Besides instantly healing you, it refreshes your sprint as well. Pop this when you’re about to die and give yourself a few more precious moments.

We take the drill charge for our lethal because of its many uses. It can drive enemies out of cover, pressure them, or damage them if they’re in another room.

Perks

  • Base Perk 1: Double Time
  • Base Perk 2: Scavenger
  • Bonus Perk: Fast Hands
  • Ultimate Perk: Ghost

For our base perks, we’re grabbing Double Time and Scavenger. Just like before, Double Time is going to give us increased mobility for when we need to run. Pair that with the stim we grabbed for our tactical slot, and we can tactical sprint for a pretty long time. Scavenger is there to make sure we don’t run out of ammo and plates in game modes like Warzone and Resurgence.

After that, we put Fast Hands for our bonus perk to give us faster reloads and Ghost for our ultimate perk to hide us from enemy UAV

Conclusion

The TR-76 Geist is a strong addition to MW2‘s selection of rifles. It’s hard-hitting, easy to use, and looks good. It’s also versatile enough to create a lot of different loadouts with it at its center. I can’t recommend the TR-76 Geist enough for the next time you jump into Call of Duty.
