5 Best Gaming Laptops For WoW (2024)

To play World of Warcraft or WoW on a laptop takes a higher-end processor and top-of-the-line GPU. Don’t forget ample RAM and storage. And since we’re talking laptops, it should also be portable and easy to use — that’s kind of the point, right? In this ranking, we present five of the best gaming laptops for WoW combining all those features, and more.

5 Best Gaming Laptops for WoW

There’s a pick in this list for every budget, and even for the recent WoW Shadowlands. Don’t haul your desktop around any longer — use one of the best gaming laptops for WoW, instead.

1. Acer Nitro 5

The best gaming laptop for WoW, overall

Manufacturer: Acer | Screen Size: 15.6 Inches | Hard Drive: 256 GB | Ram: 8 GB | Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 | Price: 💰720

Up first in our ranking of the best gaming laptop for WoW is the Acer Nitro 5. With a screen size at 15.6 inches and a 9th Generation Intel Core processor, it’s sold with plenty of hard disk space and available RAM. Graphics are handled with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics coprocessor.

There’s also an additional hard drive bay for easy upgrades. One player reported using the Nitro 5 both for WoW, other AAA games, and for daily use, and said it ran fast and smooth. The “extra fancy” backlit keyboard is another popular feature.

Additional feedback from WoW players says the Nitro 5 streams both Netflix and Spotify while playing the game, both retail and classic. It also holds up well for Skyrim, we found out. An overall impressive and versatile laptop for gaming, it does run a bit hot, despite the Acer Cool Boost technology with two fans and exhaust ports, based on feedback.

  • Also a good choice for school projects

2. Acer Predator Helios 300

The best gaming laptop for WoW, Runner-Up

Manufacturer: Acer | Screen Size: 15.6 Inches | Hard Drive: 512 GB | Ram: 16 GB | Graphics: ‎NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 | Price: 💰1250

A step-up in price, the next laptop for WoW is also from Acer. What makes their Predator Helios 300 worth it is the 11th Generation Intel Core i7-11800H processor, 16 GB of memory, and 6GB of dedicated VRAM. To help solve the heat issue reported on that Acer product, the Helios 300 has an 89-blade, 5th generation AeroBlade Fan (some issues with overheating are still reported).

Also not to be missed is the Ampere architecture with ray tracing cores, tensor cores, and streaming multiprocessors. That said, the screen size is 15.6 just like the Nitro 5.

The LED-backlit display also offers a 16:9 aspect ratio and a fast 144Hz refresh rate response time. The backlit keyboard only adds to the atmosphere. It overall has a nice feel with backlit keys that are easy to see, based on feedback. Put all the video settings on high and World of Warcraft will run fast and smooth, churning out high FPS, we found out.

3. Lenovo Legion Y540

The best gaming laptop for WoW under $1000

Manufacturer: Lenovo | Screen Size: 15.6 Inches | Hard Drive: 256 GB | Ram: 16 GB | Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti | Price: 💰899

For somewhat bigger budgets, the best gaming laptop under $1000 for WoW is the Lenovo Legion Y540. With a 256 GB hard disk and 16 GB RAM installed, there’s an Intel Core i7 CPU and an SSD hard disk, with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti graphics coprocessor.

Also notable is Lenovo’s Coldfront cooling system, which keeps things running smoothly during serious gaming sessions. There’s also a full-sized backlit keyboard and fast refresh rates. The battery life on the Legion Y540 is a problem, we found out, but not bad for a gaming laptop, according to some reports (the battery can be switched out.)

For gaming, streaming Youtube videos, and even coding, the Legion Y540 is an amazing budget laptop, according to reports. It smashed games at 1080p and 144hz, for one user. The screen is nice and bright, but there was an isolated incident of a malfunctioning touchpad. Overall, though, it’s an absolute beast to have in your inventory, based on feedback.

4. CHUWI CoreBook X Laptop

The best laptop for WoW under $500

Manufacturer: CHUWI | Screen Size: 14 Inches | Hard Drive: 512 GB | Ram: 8 GB | Graphics: ‎Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 | Price: 💰450

Look beyond some of the more well-known brands to get the best laptop for WoW under $500. At an affordable price, the CoreBook X laptop from CHUWI has a 512 GB hard disk and 8 GB of RAM. The laptop also supports memory upgrades, just in case, with a USB-C and full interface for fast charging and other audio, video, and data transmission.

But there’s more than enough power in the CoreBook X to handle AAA games like World of Warcraft. CHUWI also offers 2K resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio, flicker-free. The screen is on the small side, though, at only 14 inches.

Those who’ve tried CHUWI call it an impressive non-mainstream laptop for the price with good performance for multitasking and gaming. Some gamers did add an 8 GB RAM stick for maximum efficiency. There’s also a nice backlit, tactile keyboard, and good WiFi range and connectivity.

  • USERS LIKE
  • Multitasks well
  • Good WiFi range
  • Intel Core i5-8259U CPU
  • USERS DISLIKE

5. MSI Pulse GL66

The best laptop for WoW Shadowlands

Manufacturer: MSI | Screen Size: 15.6 Inches | Hard Drive: 512 GB | Ram: 16 GB | Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 | Price: 💰 1599

And finally, the best laptop for WoW Shadowlands is the MSI Pulse GL66. Offering a 512 GB hard disk, 16 GB of RAM, and an Intel Core i7 processor, what we liked about the GL66 was the fast data transfer and system speeds. It also earns high marks for responsiveness.

There’s a 17.3-inch display, ray-traced graphics and state-of-the-art AI features. The battery life could be better, but that’s a common complaint with gaming laptops. Some also comment the number pad is a bit small, and it does tend to run a bit hot after prolonged gaming sessions.

Otherwise, the GL66 boots up quickly with very little bloatware installed. The WiFi and CPU handle everything games like Shadowlands and Baldur’s Gate throw its way. Refresh rates are high with fast SSD. After daily Shadowlands play, the GPU performed well and ran smoothly, according to one report.
