How to Get Human Heritage Armor in WoW

Heritage armor sets are account-wide cosmetic rewards that you can unlock when you level a character from a given race to 50. Heritage armor was added to WoW for both the orc and human races in patch 10.0.7. Finally, the original Warcraft races get their day in the sun!

Human Heritage Armor Variants & Title: Pictures

What does the human heritage armor look like? First things first, we’re going to check that out below! Next up, we’ll be going over how exactly to obtain this human heritage armor.

The set comes in three different color variants: white, red, and blue. Each color has eight pieces for head, shoulder, chest, wrist, hand, waist, legs, and feet. There are also variant pieces for head, chest, and waist.

Completing the quest chain also grants the Lionguard title.

Requirements for Human Heritage Armor

To start the quests for the human heritage armor, you will need a level 50 human character that has Exalted reputation with Stormwind.

The reputation requirement will be removed in patch 10.1, which is scheduled to go live on May 2nd. In the meantime, wearing a Stormwind Tabard in dungeons is the fastest way to gain reputation. You also get a 10% bonus to your reputation gains as a human with your Diplomacy racial, making it even easier.

How to Get Human Heritage Armor: Quest Order

The quest chain starts automatically when you have met the requirements listed above. A stealthed NPC will slip an Urgent Stormwind Summons into your bag, and the quest An Urgent Matter will pop up.

If you abandon this quest, you’ll need to pick it up again from Agent Render. He is leaning against a tree near the Stormwind Embassy.

There are 16 quests you’ll need to complete to receive your human heritage armor in WoW. We’ll walk you through each quest below!

1. An Urgent Matter

First, you’ll need to find Master Mathias Shaw. He is standing on a walkway at the back of Stormwind Keep. Speaking with him reveals that a powerful artifact has been stolen. He will ask you to meet him at the Lion’s Pride Inn in Goldshire at the center of Elwynn Forest.

2. An Unlikely Informant

When you get to the inn, you’ll find Mathias in the cellar. He will be joined shortly by Vanessa VanCleef, who’ll greet you in a typical Rogue fashion.

3. A Window to the Past

Speak with Mathias again, and a cutscene will play explaining the history of the artifact that was stolen – the Drakefire Amulet. Vanilla and Classic WoW players will remember this item as the key to the Onyxia’s Lair raid!

Notably, this is one of the few times in the game where the dialogue and scenes will change depending on whether you personally completed the attunement quest chain back in the day or not.

After the cutscene, you’ll be able to speak with Mathias Shaw and Vanessa VanCleef. They both have some interesting dialogue options.

4. Rotten Old Memories

Vanessa will send you to Burning Steppes to look for information about Reginald Windsor. Head over there and locate Ragged John in Morgan’s Vigil. Follow his dialogue options find out that Ragged John has lost Windsor’s journal.

Go to the location marked on your map and look for a cave entrance on the north side of the hill. You’ll have to fight some Vicious Ember Worgs and collect the journal pieces from piles of Hoarded Debris. When you have all four pieces, return to Ragged John to move on. The complete journal will be in your bags and you can read through it if you want to.

5. Looking for Something Specific

Having obtained Windsor’s journal, head back to the Lion’s Pride Inn to meet with Mathias. You can now ask him about the Defias Brotherhood, Vanessa VanCleef, and the Drakefire Amulet.

6. The New Clessington Estate

Mathias sends you to a manor in Duskwood. Fly down to Raven Hill. Cecilia Clessington is upstairs in a building near the well. Ask her about the Drakefire Amulet, and her attendants will turn hostile. You will need to defeat them and escort Cecilia from the building.

Vanessa VanCleef will meet you outside. Ask Cecilia again about the Drakefire Amulet. She will tell you that her father was involved in the theft.

7. Misdeeds in Moonbrook

Head to Westfall and meet Vanessa in a field near Moonbrook. Before you continue, you can speak with Mathias to hear him converse with Vanessa about her father, Edwin VanCleef. Then you can pick up two new quests.

8. & 9. A Hungry Heritage & Supply Only the Finest Goons

These quests can be done at the same time. Head into Moonbrook and fight your way through the Clessington Attendants you find there. Vanessa will help.

Look for a large building on the southern side of the town. Enter the building and go up the stairs, then continue through The Deadmines. When you reach the Defias Hideout in the center, you’ll encounter Count Clessington.

10. Betrayal of the Brotherhood

You now have to leave the way you came. Use the special button that appears, VanCleef’s Elixir of Speed. It will grant you stealth and increased movement speed. Clessington Attendants will ignore you, but Defias Thieves will occasionally ambush you. Return to Cecilia and Mathias to continue.

If you stick around for a few seconds, you’ll witness a conversation between Vanessa and some Defias Rebels.

11. To Northshire

Head to Northshire in Elwynn Forest and meet with the team, who are being attacked by Clessington Attendants. Here you’ll pick up two new quests.

12. & 13. Knock It Off! & What’s Their Problem?

These quests can be done at the same time. Fight your way through Defias forces to reach the four Enforcers and loot their Signets.

14. The Clessington Will

Enter Northshire Abbey to meet Cecilia. Dispel the barrier in the doorway by clicking on it. Your team will join you and a fight will ensue. Use your Will to Survive racial ability to break out of stuns. Defeat Defias forces until you can fight Count Clessington himself. Defeat him, and turn in the quest. A Shade of Onyxia will whisper to you from the Drakefire Amulet.

15. Will to Survive

Pick up the Drakefire Amulet and give it to Mathias. He and Vanessa will start to fight, but soon the Shade of Onyxia shows up and you’ll have to fight her instead. You’ll need to use your Will to Survive racial ability again so you can evade her Shadow Breath. Defeat the Shade to continue to the final quest!

16. Go with Honor, Friend

Mathias asks you to meet him in Stormwind. Before you go, you can listen to one more conversation between Vanessa, Cecilia, and Mathias. When you’re ready, head to the gates of Stormwind.

Before continuing with the final step, you can tell Mathias about Ragged John and ensure a memorial to Windsor. Now you can approach General Hammond Clay and use the Honor of the Lionguard ability that appears to kneel in front of him. Congratulations on receiving your human heritage armor!
