The curious AS VAL has enjoyed a subtle presence in shooter games recently. While it’s a bit less recognizable than its distinctive cousin, the VSS, the VAL is a reliable weapon suited for those who prefer a more stealthy approach. That’s why we’ll be going over the best loadout for the AS VAL in CoD: Mobile.
What Makes the AS VAL Good in CoD: Mobile?
The first and most apparent unique feature of the VAL is its built-in suppressors. In CoD: Mobile, the advantage of barrel-integrated silencers is twofold:
- Silenced weapons do not appear on the enemy radar when fired like unsilenced weapons do.
- The built-in suppressor means players who want this advantage can save that attachment slot for something else.
The stock VAL might sound as soft as a lover’s whisper, but it actually hits decently with a middle-of-the-road damage rating of 28, and only three Assault Rifles (ARs) have a faster fire rate.
In the end, the AS VAL is a solid weapon all the way around but is especially effective for players who like to sneak across the battlefield.
Ninja AS VAL Loadout
The Ninja AS VAL loadout is for players in CoD: Mobile who want to move fast, stay off the radar, and overwhelm the enemy with a storm of bullets before they even know you’re there.
Setup
- Classic Red Dot Sight
- Large Extended Mag B
- Stippled Grip Tape
- MIP Laser 5mW
- OWC Skeleton Stock
Unlike the VSS, the VAL is not relegated strictly to sniping. In fact, nearly the opposite is true, as the stock VAL comes equipped with some atrocious iron sights instead of an adequate scope.
An optical sight may be the best way to get more rounds on more targets. Alternatively, you can run the Classic Red Dot Sight for its early availability and good sight picture.
The Large Extended Mag B upgrades the subpar stock magazine from 25 rounds to 40 – a must have for the close-encounter fighting that the Ninja AS VAL loadout excels at.
Stippled Grip Tape reduces Aim-Down-Sights (ADS) time and also offers a 15% reduction in Sprint-to-Fire Delay, letting you bring the AS VAL up into a fighting position faster.
For those situations where ADS-ing just isn’t possible, the MIP Laser 5mW visually indicates where the weapon is aimed and gives a further 25% boost to Sprint-to-Fire delay. Plus, it reins in Hipfire Bullet Spread for those desperate spray-and-pray moments.
The OWC Skeleton Stock is a lightweight addition that improves ADS Movement Speed (how quickly you can scan while aiming down sights) and grants nearly a 10% increase in ADS Time.
This mix of attachments results in a highly mobile AS VAL loadout meant for running and gunning. The build loses a little in the way of accuracy, but at these ranges, it won’t matter.
Strategies
This is not the sniper rifle the VSS is. Being faster, quieter, sneakier, and altogether Ninja-like is the name of the game for this build. Move quickly and overwhelm the enemy by either outdrawing them or annihilating them from the hip.
Perks
- Lightweight
- Ghost
- Dead Silence
Anything that helps players remain undetected and faster than the enemy plays into the strengths of the Ninja AS VAL loadout.
Lightweight increases sprinting speeds and reduces fall damage- making leaping down upon an unsuspecting enemy like Batman a real possibility. And just like Batman, your foes won’t hear or see you coming since Ghost and Dead Silence keep you off the enemy radar and quiet as a mouse.
Streaks
- Counter UAV
- Predator Missile
- Stealth Chopper
Streaks are a matter of personal preference, but in keeping with the theme of not being seen or heard, our choices for the Ninja AS VAL loadout focus on keeping the enemy blind. That and raining fire from the skies to distract them while you skulk around the map.
Maps & Modes
Fast, close-up game modes are the best for the Ninja AS VAL, but its stealth characteristics also make it handy for Search-And-Destroy or Team Deathmatch.
Maps
- Nuketown
- Dome
- Summit
Modes
- Hardpoint
- Search-and-Destroy
- Team Deathmatch
Assassin AS VAL Loadout
If you want more VSS in your VAL, the Assassin is the loadout for you in CoD: Mobile. Stable and practical, the Assassin is an over-watch marksman’s dream.
Setup
- 3x Tactical Scope
- Merc Foregrip
- OWC Ranger Stock
- Large Extended Mag B
- Long Shot
The 3x magnification level makes the most of the AS VAL’s rapid-fire abilities without limiting the sight picture too much. This is especially important as it will take more than a couple of good shots to down a foe.
The Merc Foregrip soothes recoil for longer-range shots. Coupled with the Long Shot perk, the Assassin is more effective at range than its Ninja sibling. Players should stick with the Large Extended Mag B, as the stock magazine empties too quickly.
The OWC Ranger Stock has some significant drawbacks, but as this build is for a stationary sniper playstyle, it makes up for slowing players down with significant improvements to Hit Flinch, Bullet Spread, and Recoil.
Strategies
Posting up and hunting prey is what the Assassin AS VAL does best. Avoid chaotic game modes with a lot of run-and-gun and instead focus on finding a nice spot to post up with a decent view. If you find an ideal location, you’ll be picking enemies off without them even knowing where you are.
Perks
- Skulker
- Cold-Blooded
- Alert
Move steadily to your favorite hide with Skulker and keep enemies from targeting you with Cold-Blooded. Alert is a great way to watch your flanks, as it indicates approaching enemies on the mini-map.
Streaks
- Guardian
- Sentry Gun
- VTOL.
If your position is good enough for sniping, it will benefit from a Sentry Gun. Post it up on the balcony for a Gatling gun ally to take advantage of your perch.
Guardian slows enemies in its range and makes an excellent addition to your defensive position, as it will give time for you to dispatch that guy who just walked in to cap you. Once you’ve stacked enough points, hit the skies with VTOL and hammer the enemy from above.
Maps & Modes
Medium to large-sized maps with excellent sight-lines are best for the Assassin AS VAL, and it’s wise to avoid point-domination modes that require a lot of traveling.
Maps
- High Rise
- Crossfire
- Standoff
Modes
- Frontline
- Team Deathmatch
Battle Royale AS VAL Loadout
Our Battle Royale AS VAL build will confound enemies as they struggle to find your location. Since the Battle Royale mode favors longer ranges and stealth playstyles, the AS VAL is well-suited as a lightweight assault rifle that can strike from a distance while obscuring your location.
Setup
- MIP 200mm Mid-Range Barrel
- 4x Tactical Scope
- 15 Round FMJ Magazine
- RTS Steady Stock
- Tactical Foregrip
The 15-round FMJ Magazine is a VAL exclusive. It reduces the number of rounds to 15 but offers an absurd 320% boost to Damage Range, buffs impact and bullet penetration, and switches the VAL to semi-automatic for precise shot placement.
If you want access to this build during a Battle Royale map, head to the Battle Royale Lobby and click on Loadout. From there, you can customize a weapon like in multiplayer modes. Of course, you won’t start with the gun, but now it can be found in Arsenal Airdrops.
Arsenal Airdrops differ from regular airdrops in that they are marked with a purple wrench icon and drop your custom choice right into a Battle Royale.
