While adventuring through West Weald you may have collected some Overland Sets or come across Crafting Stations. I wanted to create a guide for players wanting to try out these sets to help make build creation easier. Below I will go explain how you can get each of the Gold Road Armor Sets and what they do. For these sets, you will need to own the Gold Road Chapter.
If you are interested in the three new Mythic Items from this chapter, check out my Gold Road Mythic Fragment Guide.
Craftable Sets
The first type of Gold Road armor set we are covering are Craftable Sets. These sets can only be crafted at that specific crafting station in a zone or at an attuned crafting station. Guild Houses typically have these stations available for members to use as well. These sets offer players alternative option from the Overland Sets and Dungeon Sets and can be helpful to use in various types of content. Below are the map locations of the West Weald Crafting Stations.
Threads of War
Location: Deserter’s Lagoon, West Weald
Description: Your light and heavy attacks gain 100% Status Effect Chance. The Status effect is based off what type of weapon you are using.
How you can use it: This set is great for builds using a weapon that deals some type of Status Effect (Lightning, Frost, Flame, Poison, and Disease). You can use this set to enhance a build that incorporates Status Effects.
Highland Sentinel
Location: Leftwheal Grainery, West Weald
Description: Standing still in combat grants a stack of Sentinel’s Eye (grants 357 Crit chance per stack) for every second you stand still. You can earn up to 10 stacks of Sentinel’s Eye for standing still for ten seconds.
Note: Half a stack of Sentinel’s Eye is removed every time you move. If you exit combat you will lose all stacks.
How you can use it: If you have a more tanky build that allows you to stand still, this set can be useful for doing more damage.
Tharriker’s Strike
Location: Singer’s Outpost, West Weald
Description: When you deal damage with a fully charged Heavy Attack grants you Major Berserk for 4 seconds, increasing your damage done by 10%. This effect can occur once every 1 second.
How you can use it: This set works well for DPS Heavy Attack Builds. You get Major Berserk when you Heavy Attack which is a nice damage buff. Tharriker’s Strike pairs well with Oakensoul Ring Mythic since you can Heavy Attack weave and receive an additional buff that Oakensoul doesn’t provide.
Overland Sets
The next type of Gold Road armor set is Overland Sets are sets that can be found from various sources around West Weald from World Bosses to Skingrad Reward Coffers. These sets are useful for players looking to get quality gear without having to run Dungeons. This makes it a great option for newer players and those that feel more comfortable doing Overland content in the Elder Scrolls Online. Each set is unique and can provide useful buffs, abilities, and advantages for players. Below you will find a breakdown of how to get each set piece.
Overland Activity | Gear Set Pieces |
---|---|
Delve bosses | Waist & Feet |
World bosses | Head, Chest, Leg, & Weapons |
Public Dungeon bosses | Shoulders, Hands, & Weapons |
Incursions | Jewelry |
Ayleid Refuge
Description: Blocking an attack reduces your damage taken by 11% for 3 seconds.
How you can use it: This set can be helpful for beginner Tanks looking for an Overland set to try out for their build. Ayleid Refuge is a good option if you want to practice blocking and getting the hang of tanking.
Macabre Vintage
Description: When you kill a monster they burst with blood magic dealing 50% of their Max Health to enemies within 6 meters as Bleed Damage (up to 24096 Bleed Damage). The effect occurs every 0.5 seconds and cannot critically strike. You also gain 150 Weapon and Spell Damage.
How you can use it: This set can be useful for players who want a set that can deal Bleed Damage. The additional Weapon and Spell Damage can be helpful to make a build more powerful as well.
Symmetry of the Weald
Description: Adds 200% Status Effect Chance when your Health is above 50%. When your Health is 50% or less you gain 10% Healing done.
How you can use it: Symmetry of the Weald is a good option for players looking to increase the Status Effect Chance their build has. If you also want to increase the healing you do, this set is helpful. When doing overland content like fighting world bosses or participating in world events this set came in handy.
Trial Sets
The Gold Road Chapter also introduced a new Trial, Lucent Citadel. There are 4 new sets that you can get from doing Lucent Citadel. You can check out information on the Perfected versions of the gear here. Below are some brief explanations of what they do and how you can incorporate them.
Lucent Echoes
Description: While you have more than 50% Health, the Critical Damage and Critical Healing of any group member not wearing Lucent Echoes within 28 meters of you is increased by 11%. While you have 50% or less Health, your damage taken from monsters is reduced by 20%.
How you can use it: This set is a great choice for Tank players looking to buff their teammates and have self sustain when low on Health. Whether you are doing Trials or Dungeon content this set is nice to try. If you are interested in trying it out for fun, you should give it a go!
Mora Scribe’s Thesis
Description: Increase your Critical Chance by 128 for every “Major” buff active on you, up to 1536 Critical chance. Increases your Critical Damage by 1% for every “Minor” buff active on you, up to 12% Critical Damage done.
How you can use it: Mora Scribe’s Thesis is a useful set for players that have a lot of Major Buffs in their build or granted from other teammates. Since it affects Critical Chance and Critical Damage, this set is a good option for DPS. You just have to be mindful that you have enough buffs to make the set work, the Oakensoul Ring is a good option to pair this with.
Sliver’s of the Null Arca
Description: Dealing Crit Damage gives you a stack of Sliver for 10 seconds, up to once every 0.5 seconds. Upon gaining your third stack, they merge into a crystal that launches at the last enemy you damaged, dealing 1799 Physical Damage. This effect scales off higher of your Weapon and Spell Damage, and you cannot gain a stack of Sliver for 5 seconds after the crystal is launched at an enemy.
How you can use it: This set is a fun choice for DPS because it builds stacks of Sliver when you deal Crit Damage. Having a crystal launch at an enemy is a cool way to get some additional Physical Damage too.
Xoryn’s Masterpiece
Description: Increases Max Magicka and Max Stamina by 1667 for you and up to 11 other group members within 28 meters of you. Bonus persists when you die as well.
How you can use it: This set could be useful for Healers wanting to increase their group’s resources and their own. Though it may not be the best set out there but it can pair nicely with another set and be helpful.
