Marvel Snap Economy Guide: Best Way to Spend Credits & Gold

As a free-to-play game, Marvel Snap has several currencies players need to be aware of. The three main types are Gold, Credits, and Tokens – each of which serves a different function within the game and can help you unlock more cards and features. That’s why In today’s guide, we’re looking to maximize the efficiency of your Marvel Snap economy by going over the best ways to spend and use your Gold and Credits.

While Tokens can only be used at the Token Shop to purchase rare Series 4 and Series 5 cards, Gold and Credits have a couple different uses. It can be confusing trying to manage each of these currencies and use them effectively, so we’re here to help.

Best Use of Credits in Marvel Snap

You’ll mainly use Credits in Marvel Snap to upgrade cards, with each upgrade level requiring a higher number of Credits than the last. While this may seem like a straightforward system, there are a couple different options for upgrading.

Upgrading your cards increases your collection level, which in turn potentially unlocks new cards. This alone is a worthwhile endeavor and ensures Credits remain valuable.

Upgrading Cards

The main use of Credits is to upgrade cards in Marvel Snap.

The standard method for upgrading cards requires players to have a specific number of both Credits and Boosters for that particular card before an upgrade can be performed. Each upgrade not only increases your collection level, but it also changes the appearance of the card. The requirements for each upgrade level are:

  • Uncommon: 25 Credits and 5 Boosters – Gain 1 Collection Level
  • Rare: 100 Credits and 10 Boosters – Gain 2 Collection Levels
  • Epic: 200 Credits and 20 Boosters – Gain 4 Collection Levels
  • Legendary: 300 Credits and 30 Boosters – Gain 6 Collection Levels
  • Ultra: 400 Credits and 40 Boosters – Gain 8 Collection Levels
  • Infinity 500 Credits and 50 Boosters – Gain 10 Collection Levels

It quickly becomes clear that you’ll need a lot of Credits in order to upgrade cards to their max level. Even after a card reaches Infinity, it will split and give you a new version of the card with a colorful background that starts back at the base level.

Fast Upgrade

Fast Upgrade is a less cost effective way to upgrade your cards.

There is an alternative to the standard upgrade method. When upgrading certain cards, players can reduce the number of Boosters needed by choosing to use more Credits.

The cards available for Fast Upgrades are limited to only 3 options that rotate every 8 hours when the shop updates. While this might seem like a tempting route to gain some quick Collection Levels, Fast Upgrades are far less resource efficient than the standard route. This is because Credits are a rarer commodity than Boosters, making the fast upgrade method more expensive overall.

Best Use of Gold in Marvel Snap

Unlike Credits, Gold has a few different uses in Marvel Snap and can be purchased with real-world money in differing amounts. Additionally, it can be acquired from sources like the Season Pass, Collectors Reserves, and Weekly Challenges.

While it’s not as critical to the gameplay experience, Gold is much sparser than Credits and can be much more costly, so it’s important to spend it efficiently.

Buying Variants

Variants of your favorite cards can be bought with Gold.

One non-gameplay aspect of Marvel Snap that you can use Gold for is purchasing card variants. Each card has its own series of cosmetic variants that offer different artwork of the character portrayed.

Different variants can be purchased from the Daily Offer shop using Gold. As its name implies, the Daily Offer shop cycles through 6 different variants every day, costing between 700 and 1200 Gold depending on the rarity of the variant.

Some variants are better than others depending on the player’s taste, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the Daily Offer if you’d like to purchase a variant of your favorite card.

Buying Credits

Gold can also be used for purchasing gameplay-affecting elements like Credits. This system can help if you need to upgrade your cards to try and pull those rare Series 4 and 5 cards from Collector’s Reserves.

Players can get a daily free 50 Credits, but they can also spend 120 Gold to get 150 Credits or 400 Gold to get 500 Credits. If you’re not planning on purchasing any variants, saving Gold for extra Credits is not a bad idea.

However, there is still one better option for your Gold if you’re looking to get the absolute best value out of it.

Special Weekly Bundles

Special Bundles are the best use of your Gold in Marvel Snap.

Players looking to get the most value out of their Gold might want to keep an eye on the special bundles that Marvel Snap offers. Most of these offers bundle a variety of different items that can include Credits, Boosters, and even unique card variants and avatars.

However, one of the best uses of Gold in Marvel Snap is the weekly Token Tuesday bundles the game offers. These bundles are usually close to a 1:1 exchange of Gold-for-Tokens, making them an easy and efficient way to obtain the Tokens necessary to unlock some of Marvel Snap’s rarest cards.

Given that Tokens are otherwise only obtainable through Collector’s Reserves, spending 450 to 850 Gold to gain 400 to 800 Tokens is almost always a wise investment. While the value of other seasonal bundles may vary depending on their contents, Token Tuesday remains a consistently good value.
