When you’re first starting your Marvel Snap journey, you’re deck options are going to be limited due to the game requiring you to use Pool 1 cards. While this requirement is to keep the game from feeling too overwhelming early on, it does mean you’re going to have to work with what’s available to create the best deck possible. There are a couple of strong Ongoing decks that make great Marvel Snap decks for facing other opponents in Pool 1. That’s why I’m going to walk you through the best Ongoing decks for Pool 1 in Marvel Snap and give you some tips on how to use them to their fullest.
Options may be limited for Pool 1 players, but that doesn’t mean these Ongoing Marvel Snap decks can’t help you best your opponents!
Spectrum Onslaught Deck
With the limited cards you have available in Pool 1, this is the best Ongoing Marvel Snap deck. It can be a very versatile option within the Pool 1 meta since it features cards with a variety of useful effects that synergize well together.
Card List
Ant-Man 1-Cost/1-Power | Nightcrawler 1-Cost/2-Power | Armor 2-Cost/3-Power | Colossus 2-Cost/3-Power | Mister Fantastic 3-Cost/2-Power | Captain America 3-Cost/3-Power |
Cosmo 3-Cost/3-Power | Namor 4-Cost/6-Power | Iron Man 5-Cost/0-Power | Klaw 5-Cost/4-Power | Onslaught 6-Cost/7-Power | Spectrum 6-Cost/7-Power |
Strategy
Ant-Man and Nightcrawler are the two 1-Cost cards in this deck. While Nightcrawler does not have an Ongoing ability, this card can move locations once a match making it a flexible option for most decks. Armor and Colossus represent the 2-Cost cards in this deck. Armor prevents cards from being destroyed at her location, and Colossus can’t be destroyed, moved, or have its power reduced, making it a card that can consistently disrupt your opponents’ strategies.
Boost the Power of Your Other Locations
Mister Fantastic and Captain America add great value to this deck since they can help give an extra boost in Power to your locations. While Captain America gives all of your other cards at his location +1 Power, Mister Fantastic gives adjacent locations +2 Power. Since this deck mostly contains Ongoing cards, Cosmo is a great addition to prevent opponents from activating their On Reveal abilities at its location.
Finish Strong by Powering Up Your Ongoing Cards
While Namor doesn’t see much play in higher Marvel Snap pools, he is a great Ongoing card for this deck since he gains +5 Power when he’s your only card at a location. Additionally, Iron Man and Klaw can be great late-game plays since Iron Man doubles the Power of a location and Klaw can give the location to the right a whopping +6 Power. The final two cards in this deck both offer their advantages if played on turn six. Onslaught doubles the Ongoing effects of every one of your cards at the same location. Spectrum, on the other hand, is an On Reveal card that strengthens the other Ongoing cards on your side of the field with +2 Power to each one.
Ongoing Kazoo Deck
While not every card in this deck has an Ongoing ability, the core of it revolves around several key Ongoing cards in Marvel Snap’s Pool 1.
Card List
Ant-Man 1-Cost/1-Power | Korg 1-Cost/2-Power | Nightcrawler 1-Cost/2-Power | Squirrel Girl 1-Cost/2-Power | Angela 2-Cost/2-Power | Mister Fantastic 3-Cost/2-Power |
Captain America 3-Cost/3-Power | Jessica Jones 4-Cost/5-Power | Ka-Zar 4-Cost/4-Power | Iron Man 5-Cost/0-Power | Blue Marvel 5-Cost/3-Power | Onslaught 6-Cost/7-Power |
Strategy
The goal of this deck is to fill the field with useful 1-Cost cards before boosting their power with Ongoing cards like Ka-Zar and Blue Marvel. Luckily, Pool 1 is filled with some of Marvel Snap’s most versatile 1-Cost cards like Korg, Nightcrawler, and Ant-Man. Squirrel Girl is essentially a 3-in-1 card as she creates two other 1-Cost Squirrels at the other Marvel Snap locations. Given how many low-cost cards are in this deck, Angela is a great addition since she gains +1 Power each time a card is played at her location.
Give Your 1-Cost Cards a Boost
Once again, Mister Fantastic and Captain America are great additions to this deck as Ongoing cards that can give your locations an extra boost in Power. While she is an On Reveal card, Jessica Jones works great in this deck since she benefits from a similar Power increase if you don’t play a card at her location the next turn. Ka-Zar is one of the cornerstones of this deck since his Ongoing ability gives all 1-Cost cards +1 Power and can contribute to a dramatic power boost if the rest of your field is filled with 1-Cost cards.
Increase Your Total Power Across the Board
Blue Marvel is another great Ongoing card that increases the Power of all of your cards by +1. Between Blue Marvel and Ka-Zar you should be able to keep your overall Power totals pretty high. Iron Man can be even more effective with these two cards in play since his Ongoing ability doubles the total Power of a location. Finally, Onslaught can be used to double the effects of Ka-Zar and Blue Marvel, provided you’ve played them at the same location.
