Artwork variants are a fun and optional aspect of Marvel Snap, but many players have their favorites that they want to collect. The game features a variety of different themed and artist-specific variants with different levels of rarity. Not all variants are created equal, however, and some are more highly sought after than others. Some of the coolest variants in the game are the Venomized variants themed around the popular character Venom. It’s awesome to see so many other heroes and villains take on an unsettling symbiote design. That’s why we are breaking down the 10 best Venomized variants in Marvel Snap based on how well they portray that character in a Venomized form and how popular the variant is.
The Best Venomized Variant Cards Ranked Good to Great
Let’s get right into our list of the 10 best Venomized variant art cards in Marvel Snap, ranked from toxic to lethal!
Scorpion
Two classic Spider-Man villains cross over in the artwork for this Marvel Snap card. The Venomized variant for Scorpion is subtle, but intimidating nonetheless. Rather than the typical black symbiote suite of other Venomized variants, Scorpion retains his green color but takes on a much more untamed look. Scorpion gains some fearsome mandibles and more pronounced claws akin to that of his namesake. While not the rarest of the bunch, the combination of these elements make Venomized Scorpion a great variant of the card.
Killmonger
Killmonger already has an intimidating design for his base card, but his Venomized variant takes things to another level. He fits with the typical Venomized look of wearing an all-black symbiote suit. However, what makes Venomized Killmonger standout among the other variants is his similarity to Black Panther’s look. The claws and ears on the mask that cover his face parallel those of Black Panther, a perfect duality that shows the difference between this pair of nemeses.
Red Skull
While Red Skull is already a grotesque villain, his Venomized variant art card in Marvel Snap is one of the best for the way it utilizes his existing design. Rather than simply giving Red Skull an all-black symbiote suit, this variant leans into his name sake and gives him a red symbiote look more akin to Carnage than Venom. This is a unique take on the Venomized variant and helps Red Skull to stand out without taking away any of the features that make the villain iconic.
Cloak
The hero Cloak is largely shrouded in mystery from a visual standpoint as his titular cloak covers most of his body. His Venomized variant runs with this motif, turning his cloak into a toothed symbiote itself. Spikes can be seen protruding from the flowing billows of the cloak and its hood looks like a deranged mouth with teeth. This is a genius way to incorporate features of the symbiote into Cloak’s design and makes this variant a strong contender for one of the best Venomized variants in Marvel Snap.
Omega Red
Unlike Red Skull, Omega Red doesn’t keep the red elements of his design when taking on a Venomized form. Although his body dawns the black symbiote suit, the prominent tendrils of Omega Red’s design are greatly enhanced in this sinister new form. While Omega Red’s tentacles are already a gnarly part of his design, they somehow look even more disgusting in the artwork of his Venomized Variant, showing just how truly malformed the symbiote makes its host.
Lady Sif
Thor’s major love interest Lady Sif sports a sinister Venomized design in Marvel Snap. This Asgardian warrior is known for her mighty armor, imposing sword, and flowing locks of hair. However, her Venomized variant disintegrates those aspects of her design into wiry strands of symbiote. The black and red colors of the symbiote fit nicely with her base color palette making Lady Sif seem like a natural fit to receive one of the best looking Venomized variants in Marvel Snap.
White Queen
Emma Frost, AKA White Queen, flips the typical design for Venomized variants on their head with her card’s design. Rather than conforming to the stand black, or even red, symbiote design, White Queen contrasts the other Venomized variants by keeping her stark white look. She still takes on the iconic look of Venom’s malformed tongue and claw-like fingers. However, White Queen stands out from other variants because of her bright white costume. This design turns one of Marvel Snap’s most elegant cards into one of its most unsettling.
Deadpool
The fan-favorite Merc with a Mouth is known for his hijinx and comedic timing in the Marvel Universe. However, his Venomized variant in Marvel Snap shows a much more disturbing side of the typically silly Deadpool. Once again, as a character with a red and black color palette by default, his look translates naturally to that of a symbiote host. Deadpool becomes much more menacing in this variant becoming giant in stature with his gaping maw of a mouth open revealing rows of deadly teeth. In typical Deadpool fashion, this design still retains some of the character’s quirkiness as he is holding a massive taco.
Hela
As the Asgardian Goddess of Death, Hela’s Venomized variant in Marvel Snap is appropriately menacing. The usual black horns that adorn her headpiece are exaggerated by the symbiote and form the basis of the tendrils protruding from the rest of her costume. She has all the features of the symbiote that fans would want to see, including the razor-sharp teeth and white eyes iconic to Venom. Perhaps the best feature of this variant is the complementary color palette of Venom’s black with Hela’s green to give the card a cohesive yet nauseating look.
Thor
Easily the best Venomized Variant art card in Marvel Snap is the recently added Thor variant. This variant came in a bundle with Lady Sif’s Venomized Variant. However, Thor’s stands out as the better of the two. The God of Thunder can be seen posing with a Venomized version of Mjolnir with lightning interweaving with the symbiote tendrils. Venom’s iconic grimace blends seamlessly into Thor’s winged helmet giving his symbiote transformation a natural look. Like Lady Sif, Thor’s Venomized variant also boasts a black and red color palette that pops against a gray, stormy background. The power of Thor meets the intimidation of Venom in this fantastic card art variant.
