In the short time Little Prince has been in Clash Royale, it’s already become one of the most popular cards in the meta. Even after some balance changes, Little Prince maintains a near-constant presence. And since it’s two troops built into one, it’s not really possible to directly counter. However, there are still a bunch of really good troops (and one spell) that stands to take the duo out! Here are 5 cards to counter Little Prince with.
#5 – Lightning
Lightning is always a strong counter to groups of troops, and that’s still the case here. While Lightning won’t completely take the duo out, it’ll destroy Little Prince and put some valuable damage on the Guardian. Obviously, Lightning is also great for taking out various other troops or support units as well, so there’s no way I couldn’t include it here.
As a devout X-Bow player, I know all too well how much it hurts to have everything you put your Elixir into destroyed with Lightning. Little Prince suffers just as much from this spell, so it’s 100% an S-tier Little Prince counter.
#4 – Bats (Evo Recommended)
Honestly, Bats aren’t the best at countering the actual Little Prince, but when the Guardian comes into play it’s a different story. You’ll need something to distract the Little Prince, but once you do the Bats will have no difficulty taking out a hopefully-distracted Guardian. Something as simple as a Knight or Tombstone can be enough to distract this duo long enough for Bats to take them out.
If you have Bats evolved, they’ll be able to survive much longer, especially after taking out the Guardian. Evolved Bats are amazing value for their low cost, so it’s hard not to recommend them. If you don’t have Bats evolved, you can still use them to counter Little Prince and his Guardian. You’ll just have to rely even more on your distractions, and they won’t be quite as strong.
#3 – Bowler
Bowler is one of the best troops for countering ground units, and it’s time he gets the respect he deserves. Any time you need to take out multiple ground troops, Bowler is a go-to counter. He’s got enough HP to tank Little Prince’s assault, he can distract the Guardian for a long time, and he can take out any other ground troops or swarms that try to get involved.
If you pair Bowler with Tornado, you can pull troops around to make sure they get lined up for a perfect strike from the Bowler. But even without that, his ability to counter cards like Little Prince makes sure he had a spot on this list.
#2 – Mini P.E.K.K.A.
If there’s any troop that poses a genuine threat to every tank, it’s Mini P.E.K.K.A. As long as it has a lot of HP and it’s on the ground, the Mini P.E.K.K.A. can counter it. In most cases, it’ll be able to destroy the Guardian with no problem, and if you have any support for it you should be able to destroy the Little Prince himself as well.
If the Guardian hasn’t been called in yet, Mini P.E.K.K.A. can just be dropped on top of the Little Prince as he gets close to the bridge, and you can even take him out while the Guardian is being called if you get lucky. Mini P.E.K.K.A.’s versatility and ability to counter tanks makes him a common sight on these “best counters” articles, especially when there’s a tank involved.
#1 – Sparky
Sparky is an absolute powerhouse, but rarely is it seen as a counter. However, when you consider how easily Sparky is able to obliterate anything in its path, it makes a lot of sense. As long as you have something in front of it to tank for a bit, Sparky is great at making ground troops disappear in a single shot. Even the Guardian is hardly a match for Sparky’s long-charging explosions, and the Little Prince can’t get anywhere near the explosion if he wants to survive.
Whenever you play Sparky, you have to base your whole deck around it. In that regard, you can’t just start using Sparky in random decks to try and counter Little Prince. But decks that already have Sparky will be able to completely forget about Little Prince’s threats, as Sparky will make sure it never gets anywhere close to a tower. Sparky is the best counter to Little Prince, you just have to design your deck around it.
