Despite her youthful appearance, Piper is a trucker with an old-soul and years of experience that she’s willing to share with you if you earn her trust. To that end, this trust guide for Piper will cover every Trust Event and the best answers to quickly max out her Trust Rank in Zenless Zone Zero.

How to Unlock Trust Events for Piper in Zenless Zone Zero

1. You must own Piper.
2. Complete all of Chapter 4 as well as the short post-chapter quest (Leisurely Lull: Unexpected New Customers) that features Tsukishiro Yanagi of Section 6.

Once you meet the above criteria, Piper (as well as the other Sons of Calydon characters that you own) will begin to spawn in the open-world as a Random Trust Event and can be texted to hangout.

All Random Trust Events for Piper (Open-World)

Each in-game day, there’s a chance that a Random Trust Event for Piper will spawn. You can increase this chance by consecutively inviting Piper to hang out via texts over multiple real-life days.

Piper has a rather low amount of Random Trust Events with a total of only 6 (same amount as fellow member Lucy). Luckily, none of them are one-time only events, so you should be able to experience all of them for yourself rather easily.

Not all dialogue choices affect your Trust with Piper, so we’ll only be covering the ones that do. We’ve tested every possible dialogue option, so rest assured about not missing out any opportunities to increase your Trust.

Note: After completing 8 Random Trust Events in one real-life day, no more will spawn in subsequent in-game days.

Sixth Street

There are 2 Random Trust Events for Piper on Sixth Street.

1. By Enzo’s Motor Shop

Piper wants to know if you’re close with Enzo and would trust him to help her with a certain remodeling project she has in mind.

• Time: Morning – Evening

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase at the end.

2. Bardic Needle

Piper is looking for some music to help her fall asleep, but is is worried that a “bumpkin” like her will be laughed out of the store.

• Time: Morning – Evening

• But who could ever fall asleep listening to a symphony orchestra?
  • Uhh… I could… (Neutral)
  • Sure, a whole symphony wouldn’t be the best… (Trust Increase)

Lumina Square

There are 2 Random Trust Events for Piper at Lumina Square.

1. Parking Lot

You find Piper admiring your car and discuss how parking works in the city.

• Time: Morning – Evening

Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase at the end.

2. Teamilk Store

You find Piper mumbling to herself seemingly about the smoothness of the drinks at Richard Teamilk.

• Time: Morning – Evening

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase.

Blazewood

There are 2 Random Trust Events for Piper in Blazewood.

1. By the Road (Upper Level)

Piper is thinking about going to the city, but Steeltusk is out of commission at the moment. Luckily, you’re here with your car.

• Time: Morning – Evening

• You weren’t too bad either. You hardly screamed.
  • Did someone forget to tell you it’s just a consumer vehicle… (Neutral)
  • This ride’s managed to go competition level. Now this car’s having its moment in the spotlight! (Trust Increase)

2. Tire Swing (Lower Level)

Piper seems to be adjusting the tire swing in Blazewood. You’re never too old to go for a swing, so why not help her out?

• Time: Morning – Evening

• The Sons of Calydon might look like unreliable, but even we’ve got lots of things going on… Then again, it’s only because everyone’s so unreliable that I can’t retire…

Invite & Hangout Events with Piper

When your Trust Rank with Piper is ready to advance to the next level, you’ll automatically receive a Trust Rank-Up quest. These quests will always successfully progress, so just choose the answers you like the most!

If for some reason Piper isn’t at the expected quest spot, make sure you track the quest as your active one. This will force the game to prioritize spawning her in.

1. Today’s Relaxation Plan (Massage Parlor)

• Text Option: How about a massage to unwind?

You suggest getting a massage at Old Duyi’s parlor. Witness the sheer resilience of old folk.

• Hmm… This store seems pretty cool…
  • Do you like this style, Piper? (Neutral)
  • I knew you’d like it. (Trust Increase)

• Regardless of your answers, you will also always get 1 Significant Trust Increase at the end.

2. Won’t Fall Asleep! (Movie Theater)

• Text Option: I’d like to watch a movie

Piper is willing to go watch a movie with you, but she risks falling asleep. Choose a movie that’ll keep her entertained and awake.

• Okay, so what movie do you want to watch?
  • That sci-fi one with the tough guy and the pretty girl on the poster. (Trust Increase)
  • That comedy claiming to be adapted from a classic. (Trust Increase)
  • The animated film with the super cute main character. (Significant Trust Increase)

• Regardless of your answers, you will also always get 1 Trust Increase at the end.

3. Do Panda Dolls Drink Machine-Ground Coffee? (Coffee Shop)

• Text Option: Have you been to the coffee shop on Sixth Street?

Although Piper doesn’t normally drink coffee, she was willing to tag along with you. Try to pick a flavor that she might like.

• Okay, you do the ordering. I don’t understand all the funky flavors you kids like.
  • Treat Piper to a cup of Mint Espresso (Neutral)
  • Treat Piper to a cup of Glacier Flat White (Neutral)
  • Treat Piper to a cup of Barley Latte (Trust Increase)

• Regardless of your answers, you will also always get 1 Significant Trust Increase at the end.

4. Game? Or Stocks? (Inside HIA Club)

• Text Option: Is there anywhere you want to go?

Although horse-betting is off the table, Piper is willing to check out that game thingy she’s heard about in Lumina Square. Clear up the misunderstanding and give into your gambling addiction.

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase and 1 Significant Trust Increase at the end.

Piper Trust Rank-Up Quests

When your Trust Rank with Piper is ready to advance to the next level, you’ll automatically receive a Trust Rank-Up quest. These quests will always successfully progress, so just choose the answers you like the most!

If for some reason Piper isn’t at the expected quest spot, make sure you track the quest as your active one. This will force the game to prioritize spawning her in.

1. Friendly (Reason for Anger)

You find Piper trying to practice how to apologize to Lucy… and naturally she needs you to rehearse the part as Lucy. You’ll never live this down.

Piper Promoter Quest (Piper’s Playlist)

After completing the Rank-Up quest, you’ll receive a text from Piper the next day that’ll start a simple quest to earn her as a promoter for your store.

After you confirm that you have the movie she’s after, simply fast forward to the next day, and Piper will show up inside of Random Play. If you had any doubts about Piper’s age, her taste in shows should dispel them.

Using Piper as a promoter will give you 2x Basic Physical Chip, in addition to the usual Dennies and Bangboo EXP items. Unfortunately, you’re always better off using an S-Rank character as a promoter for more rewards.

2. Close (“Quest Name Unknown”)

Note: Currently, the quest is missing an official name.

You find Piper playing scratch cards again and have a discussion about her lucky history with them and God. Prepare to contemplate the existential nature of reality.

Completing this quest will unlock access to Piper’s unique Resonium in Hollow Zero. There are two ways to obtain it:

1. When you enter the rest area between floors, there’s a chance a special event will trigger. If Piper was the one to land the killing blow on the previous floor’s boss, you’ll get her unique Resonium.
2. If you’re doing Blitz Mode in Withering Garden, there’s a chance to get it if Piper lands the killing blow on the last boss of one of the sections.

As for the effect of Piper’s Resonium, it activates her M6 effect (Mild Excitement) – increasing the max duration of her EX Special by 2 seconds and extending the duration of her passive Power buff by 4 seconds.

It’s a decent buff that makes it easier to maintain the 20 stacks of Power needed to give your entire team an 18% DMG buff, but it’s not anything game-changing.

3. Trusted (Time Goes By…)

You find Piper in front of Howl’s Newsstand mourning the fact that her favorite magazine is out of print for years now. Reflect on the passage of time and how things change with Piper.

Completing this quest will unlock the dynamic wallpaper for Piper as an option in your pause menu.

Normally, maxing out your Trust Rank with a character grants you an additional effect when you trigger the rest area event for them in Hollow Zero. However, this has not been implemented for Piper yet. We’ll update this section once it’s been added to the game, so stay tuned!
