How to Unlock Trust Events for Ben in Zenless Zone Zero

1. You must own Ben in order to access his Trust Events and increase his Trust Rank.
2. Complete the Trust mechanic tutorial with Anby, which takes place near the end of Chapter 2: Interlude. Just keep progressing through the main story quests if you haven’t unlocked it yet.

All Random Trust Events for Ben (Open-World)

Each in-game day, there’s a chance that a Random Trust Event for Ben will spawn. You can increase this chance by inviting Ben to hang out via texts over multiple real-life days. The specific Trust Event that spawns is random, but some events are more common than others.

However, Ben may occasionally be involved in another character’s Trust Event (namely the other Belobog members). If this happens, you’ll need to trigger and complete the other character’s Trust Event before Ben can become available for his own.

Not all dialogue choices affect your Trust Rank, so we’ll only cover the ones that do. Fortunately, Ben’s responses never decrease his Trust in you, so you can’t really make a wrong choice.

Note: After completing 7 Random Trust Events in one real-life day, no more will spawn in subsequent in-game days.

Sixth Street

There are a total of 4 possible Random Trust Events for Ben on Sixth Street.

1. Convenience Store

Help Ben decide whether he should buy some caviar now or finish off his stash first.

• Time: Morning
• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase.

2. Coffee Shop

Ben asks you if you know how the Cunning Hares are doing financially.

• Time: Morning
• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase.

3. Leave Noodle Store

Ben also happens to be getting noodles from General Chop.

• Time: Morning
• You must interact with General Chop and leave the shop menu to trigger this Trust Event.
• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase.

4. Next to 141 Convenience Truck

Ben appears to have found a lost dog and wonders if you know its owner.

• Time: Morning
• The first set of responses can feature multiple answer variations. Only 2-3 options will be shown at a time, but we’ll list all possible options.

• Woof! Woof woof!
  • Whose puppy is then, then? (Neutral)
  • Woof woof woof! (Trust Increase)
  • (Pat the dog on the head) (Trust Increase)
  • (Pat the bear on the head) (Trust Increase)

Brant Street Construction Site

There are a total of 3 possible Random Trust Events for Ben at Brant Street Construction Site.

1. By Elevator

Ben is practicing to be more intimidating during business meetings.

• Time: Morning
• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase.

2. With Koleda and Grace

Ben is trying to bring up budget concerns with Koleda and Grace. Watch the poor bear suffer.

• Time: Morning
• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase.

3. Next to Li (Bear Thiren)

• Time: Morning
• Triggers on approach.
• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase.

Lumina Square

There are a total of 2 possible Random Trust Events for Ben at Lumina Square.

1. Teamilk Store

Although Ben regularly picks up teamilk for the Belobog crew, he has never tried it himself. Help him decide on an order.

• Time: Morning
• Despite making multiple decisions, only the one about the drink’s flavor impacts Ben’s Trust.
• As for the flavor… pure milktea is a little bit too sweet for me. Could you pick something a little more refreshing…
  • Orchard Grape Teamilk / Yumyum Mint Teamilk (Trust Increase)
  • Caramel Boba Oolong Teamilk / Sweet Girl Fluffy Marshmallow Lambkin Milk (Neutral)

2. Parking Lot

Ben seems to be discussing the budget with the team’s Bangboo, Safety.

• Time: Morning
• But no matter how I slice this procurement plan of mine, I can’t seem to find a way to get the cost of these Bangboo charging facilities into this year’s budget…
  • Just fire them all. (Unknown – let us know if you have tried this option)
  • Just rip up your budget. (Trust Increase, at the end)

Invite & Hangout Trust Events with Ben

Each real-life day, you can text and invite up to three characters to hang out, and one of these invites can be Ben.

The only dialogue choice that matters during the texting portion is which hangout location you choose. You’ll always randomly be given two locations to pick from.

Once again, we will only focus on dialogue options that affect your Trust with Ben.

Most importantly, make sure to show up on time for the hangout! If you miss it, Ben will send you a guilt-inducing text about waiting for you. The poor guy is already perpetually haunted by his company’s expenditures, don’t deny him this one respite.

1. The Needle and the Caviar Can (Bardic Needle)

• Text Option: Shall we go listen to some CDs at Elfy’s music store?

You and Ben discuss musical tastes and listen to some tunes together.

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase and 1 Significant Trust Increase.

2. Schrodinger’s Bear (Box Galaxy)

• Text Option: There’s a new series of surprise boxes at the gadget store

Ben is interested in trying out the surprise box machines at Box Galaxy. The poor fool…

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Significant Trust Increase.

3. More Bears in the Story, Please (Movie Theater)

• Text Option: Let’s go to the cinema! There’s a new movie out

Enjoy a movie with Ben that ideally won’t put your friendship to the test like it did with Anton.
Note: Depending on which genre you choose to watch, you’ll have different answer results.

• So… Mr. Proxy, as an expert in movies, what genres do you like to watch?
  • A majestic space opera
    Plus nobody gave any consideration to the Bear Thiren actors. That’s going too far!
    • That IS going too far! (Trust Increase)
    • I thought it was pretty interesting. (Neutral)
  • A silly Bangboo comedy
    That’s only going to heighten anti-Bear Thiren sentiment and misunderstanding! Us Bear Thirens don’t eat intelligent life forms, much less intelligent inorganic life forms!
    • That’s going too far!  (Trust Increase)
    • But the Bear Bangboo is super cute (Trust Increase)
• Regardless of your answers, you will always also receive 1 Significant Trust Increase at the end.

4. The Cat, Dog, Bangboo & Bear (Eve’s Newsstand)

• Text Option: I haven’t decided yet

You find Ben trying to mediate an argument between a cat, dog, and an officer Bangboo. It really writes itself.

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Significant Trust Increase.

Ben Trust Rank-Up Quests

When your Trust Rank with Ben is ready to advance to the next level, you’ll automatically receive a Trust Rank-Up quest. These quests will always successfully progress, so just choose the answers you like the most!

If for some reason Ben isn’t at the expected quest spot, make sure you track the quest as your active one. This will force the game to prioritize spawning him in.

Friendly (Paste Within the Dotted Line)

• Location: Next to General Chop’s noodle store

Ben shares the woes of being Belobog’s bookkeeper and how being a Bear Thiren makes his job so much harder than it should.

After completing this quest, you’ll receive a text from Ben the next day that’ll start a short mini-quest to earn Ben as a promoter for your store.

Using Ben as a promoter will give you 2x Basic Burn Chip, in addition to the usual Dennies and Bangboo EXP items. Unfortunately, you’re better off using a S-Rank character to earn more rewards.

Close (Captain Mewmew)

• Location: Where Officer Mewmew usually is in Lumina Square

You find Ben being swarmed by kids that are calling him…Officer Mewmew? Hilarity ensues.

Completing this quest will unlock access to Ben’s special Resonium in Hollow Zero. It activates his M4 effect (Agile Adaptation) – causing his Special Attack’s counter to deal 30% more damage.

You have a chance to obtain his unique Resonium by entering a rest area between floors, but only if Ben delivers the killing blow to the previous floor’s boss. This is only really worth going for if you build Ben as your team’s damage dealer.

Trusted (Ben’s No Beast)

• Location: Across from Enzo’s Motor Shop.

Ben is trying to meet up with an online friend of his but finds himself dealing with a panicked man that’s convinced Ben is going to eat him. Help clear up the misunderstanding.

Completing this quest will unlock the dynamic wallpaper for Ben as an option in your pause menu.

Additionally, if you trigger Ben’s event at a rest area in Hollow Zero, you’ll now also gain an extra bonus in the form of him bringing you 2,000 extra Gear Coins and 1 random [Hollow] Resonium.
