This guide covers all of Astra Yao’s Trust Events in Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), including the best answers to give, locations for every event, and everything else you might need to know!

She might be known as ‘The Queen’ of the music world, but in reality, Astra is just a cheery and slightly quirky girl who loves singing. Earn her full Trust, and you’ll continue to see sides of Astra that few others are privy to.

How to Unlock Astra Yao’s Trust Events in Zenless Zone Zero

1. You must own Astra Yao.
2. Complete the Special Episode: “Astra-Nomical Moment” (available after completing Chapter 5’s main story).

When Did We First Meet Astra?

Although it has no bearing on her Trust Events, a lot of players are confused as to when we first met Astra (aka. Chaotic Fried Rice). During Version 1.3, there was a limited-time event where we helped Astra wake up a robotic construct whose consciousness had become trapped in the VR simulator.

Astra was testing out some new tech made by TOPS that let her control her Bangboo (Snap) remotely, similarly to us with Eous (but less advanced). Going by her Inter-knot handle, she sought out the top VR player (us) to help out with the situation.

Astra would eventually message for our help again to escape from her guards, which is when we meet her face-to-face for the first time. Even if you didn’t do the event, the game acts as though you did.

All Astra Yao Random Trust Events (Open-World)

Despite claiming to struggle to find any free time for herself, Astra Yao has quite a few Random Trust Events scattered throughout multiple locations. Though the the time some of them are available at is rather limited compared to other Agents.

All of Astra Yao’s Random Trust Events are repeatable, and none of your answers will decrease her Trust in you. So feel free to try out any dialogue options that you want to.

Sixth Street

There are two Astra Random Trust Events on Sixth Street.

1. Inside Random Play

Astra happened to be passing by the store and has a question about how popular the works she starred in are. Take a wild guess to which one is her favorite type.

• Time: Morning – Evening

• That’s true… So, how about you, Wise? Among those I’ve starred in, what kind of content do you prefer?
  • Movie (Trust Increase)
  • Variety Show (Trust Increase)
  • Musical (Significant Trust Increase)

2. By 141 Convenience’s Truck (with Cookie)

Astra is admiring a kitty on top of the truck by 141 Convenience. Maybe she should get one herself?

• Time: Afternoon only

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase by the end.

Lumina Square

There is only one Astra Random Trust Event at Lumina Square.

1. Playground

You find Astra playing pretend magic duel with some kids at the playground in Lumina Square. Witness the power of the Queen in action! …At least, until you get dragged into it.

• Time: Morning – Late Night

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase by the end.

Ballet Twins Road

There is only one Astra Random Trust Event at Ballet Twins Road.

You find Astra late at night in front of the statue at Ballet Twins, trying to find inspiration for her next role. Apparently, it’s something special that she’s never done before, that of a ghost maid (obligatory shout-out to Maid Mint)!

• Time: Late Night only

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase by the end.

Port Elpis

There is only one Astra Random Trust Event at Port Elpis.

1. French Fry Stand

You find Astra getting some fries, and she offers to share with you. Even though she loves eating the fries her herself, the fries she’s holding are for someone else. Bear witness to mistakes being made.

• Time: Afternoon – Evening

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase by the end.

Reverb Arena

There is only one Astra Random Trust Event at Reverb Arena.

1. Drink Bar

Astra apparently really likes a certain drink here. But she’s not here for its taste, what she’s really after is something far more valuable – the bottle caps!

• Time: Afternoon – Midnight

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase at the end.

Invite & Hangout Events for Astra Yao

Each real-life day, you can text and invite up to three characters to hang out. Naturally, Astra is one of these options.

The only option that matters during the text is deciding on which location/activity to go to, with the available options being random. There are a total of 4 different Hangout Events with Astra.

Once again, we’ll focus only on dialogue options that affect your Trust with Astra.

1. Escape Memento (Reverb Arena)

You invite Astra to have some fun at Reverb Arena and let her hair down. Luckily, everyone just thinks she’s an Astra impersonator, so it works nicely… though that might not last long at this rate.

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase and 1 Significant Trust Increase by the end.

2. The Name of Fish (Port Elpis)

You and Astra decide to check out the fishing at Port Elpis, more specifically watching the old men bicker as they desperately try to catch anything.

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase and 1 Significant Trust Increase by the end.

3. Sprouting in the Silence (Bardic Needle)

You invite Astra to check out Bardic Needle together. The nonchalance with which Astra blurts out confidential info is truly astounding. But that’s all minor in comparison to what music represents for her and the lengths she goes to for it.

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase and 1 Significant Trust Increase by the end.

4. New Product Showcase (General Chop)

The two of you decide to grab some noodles and run into General Chop struggling to come up with new flavors. Maybe the origin of Astra’s online handle will provide inspiration (that or a culinary hazard).

• Choose any answer. You will always get 1 Trust Increase and 1 Significant Trust Increase by the end.

Quality Time Events for Astra Yao

Once you reach trust rank Friendly with Astra, you’ll be able to go on Quality Time Events with her. These are effectively mini-hangouts that you need to complete in sequential order.

Each event grants you 1 Trust Increase when you finish them for the first time and earns you a reward in the Quality Time Event tab.

Once you complete all of them, you’ll unlock a dropdown menu in the Quality Time Event tab that lets you replay them for fun.

1. Reverb Arena (Reverb Arena Regular)

To blend in with the locals at Reverb Arena, you need a drink in hand. It’s Astra’s treat!

2. Port Elpis (Willingly Baited)

Astra contemplates going fishing herself. She has the instincts of a patient predator.

3. Port Elpis (Escape Just to Pursue)

The Port has become a sort of haven for the two of you. Though this time, you’re chasing something instead of running away.

4. Sixth Street (Shinies Shopper)

Astra is hoping to find something new and shiny at the gadget store.

5. Sixth Street (Return to Bardic Needle)

Nothing is more validating than seeing her work on recommended charts at real stores.

All Fun Events for Astra Yao

When hanging out with Astra specifically in Quality Time mode (Invite/Hangout Events do not count), you can trigger a couple small interactions by bringing her to specific spots. These Fun Events are repeatable by leaving and re-entering Quality Time mode.

While you only need to trigger a total of 5 unique ones to claim all the Quality Time rewards, it’s fun to check out all of them and hear Astra’s thoughts on various things.

You also need to make sure Astra is physically at the correct spot to trigger the Fun Event. This can take a bit of wiggling around, but the images below should give you an idea of where you should be positioned.

Astra Trust Rank-Up Quests

When your Trust Rank with Astra is ready to advance to the next level in Zenless Zone Zero, you’ll automatically receive a Trust Rank-Up quest. These quests will always successfully progress, so just choose the answers you like the most!

If for some reason Astra isn’t at the expected quest spot, make sure you track the quest as your active one. This will force the game to prioritize spawning her in.

1. Friendly (Night Owl Noodle Shop)

• Location: At Gravity Cinema in Lumina Square (Evening – Late Night)

You find Astra doing an autograph signing at Gravity Cinema. Take the chance to finally get your “Family” poster signed, and get drafted into post-work noodles! It’s a rare opportunity for Astra to enjoy her food in peace, so it’s all the more special to her to spend it with a friend.

Completing this quest will unlock Quality Time Events for Astra.

Promoter Quest (An Idol’s Idol)

Astra will text you about a show that her mom was featured in years ago and wants help finding a tape of it. Luckily, you’re the best video store in New Eridu, so you do in fact have it. Astra will immediately show up in Random Play after the text.

Meet up with Astra in Random Play and watch the show together to find the exact scene with her mom and learn a bit more about Astra’s past.

Complete this quest to unlock Astra as a promoter for your store. Using Astra as a promoter will reward you with 5x Basic Ether Chip, alongside the usual Dennies and Bangboo EXP items.

2. Close (Battle of Honor)

• Location: By the skate ramp at Reverb Arena (Morning – Late Night)

Astra is back at Reverb Arena to claim her rightful spot as the top Astra impersonator. However, you have to go track down the various contestants and you’ve been roped into it.

Astra’s Unique Resonium

Reaching Close rank will unlock access to Astra’s unique Resonium in Hollow Zero. There’s a chance that you’ll get it if Astra is the active character when you defeat a section’s boss in the following Hollow Zero modes:

• Withered Domain (Exploration Mode): Go to the center rest camp in the area between floors.
• Withered Domain (Blitz Mode): If the chance procs, you’ll automatically get it after beating the section’s boss.
• Lost Void (Battlefront Purge): Talk to Astra at the rest area between sections (Quest Marker will be over her head).

Astra’s Resonium activates her M2 (Art of Greed), which further boosts the ATK buff from her passive by 19% and causes Astra to follow-up with more attacks whenever you swap a teammate in while her Skill is active.

This is a rather strong buff and can provide some much needed assistance in challenge runs. However, it can be a bit more difficult to ensure Astra is the active character when defeating a boss, so you’ll likely have to plan for it. If you already have Astra at M2 or higher, the Resonium won’t provide any additional effects.

3. Trusted (Tiny Safehouse)

• Location: At the counter in Random Play (Morning – Evening)

You find Astra inside of Random Play, seeking a place to hide out for a bit. Turns out the paparazzi scourge is after her, but she refuses to be caught by them this time. She’ll go to extreme lengths to win this “battle”, even if it costs you your sanity.

Completing this quest unlocks Astra’s Dynamic Wallpaper for your pause menu. It also grants an achievement (Life Beyond the Spotlight) and a title (Gossip Buddy).

Unfortunately, miHoYo has stopped giving new Agents an additional buff or dialogue in Hollow Zero (Withered Domain) for reaching Trusted rank, and Astra doesn’t get anything new.
