Buyer’s Guide: Best 60% Keyboards
What is the best 60% keyboard for your setup and playstyle? Let’s go over the most important considerations.
1. Wired vs. Wireless
The best 60% mechanical keyboards come in wired and/or wireless configurations. Wired keyboards require a direct line to your PC’s USB port, while wireless keyboards use 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth technology to communicate over the airwaves.
There are pros and cons to each type. Wired keyboards offer greater consistency and the fastest response times, while wireless keyboards are more portable, and you don’t have to rely on a direct connection.
Now, we get this question often: are 60% keyboards good for gaming? In short, yes! But, wireless 60% keyboards are better suited for casual play, while wired models provide the consistency you need for the greatest competitive edge.
2. Switches
Switches are the mechanical springs underneath each keycap, and they vary in tactility.
For the very best experience, switches from Cherry MX are considered best-in-class. But with premium quality comes a premium price tag.
Fortunately, smaller brands have stepped up their game in recent years. Nowadays, you can find a fine keyboard with switches from brands like Outemu, Gateron, and Kailh.
3. Aesthetics
If it doesn’t look cool on your desk, what’s the point?
Think about your ideal color scheme. What matches the rest of your setup? There’s no need to compromise, as there are plenty of options — black, white, silver, two-tone — the choices are endless. Not only that, but many 60 percent keyboards also feature LEDs for an extra splash of vibrancy.
Choose the option that fits your gaming room setup, and get back to playing in style.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll have to check that one out.
That one is also a pretty good keyboard for the price for what it has. Keep in mind if you want to swap switches in the near furure you’ll be limited to just other gateron optical switches. Their software could be better though imo from what I hear about those, but I don’t think its anything to really worry about anyway since you’ll have complete functionality anyway right off the bat
