The rocker gaming type chair is like the fidget spinner of the chair world. If you find your legs restless and going a mile a minute when you’re sitting, you will probably like a rocker chair. You can rock back and forth to your heart’s content, during, between, and after matches.

Wheelbase type gaming chairs were not often used for TV gaming, but it is becoming more popular to use one of these chairs for console gaming.

It’s the age-old adage: ergonomics are essential.
Okay, I just made that up. But they really are.
Ergonomics refers to a chair’s overall design and how it relates to the human body. This relationship takes into account the chair’s features (like recline and adjustability), comfort levels, and how simple it is to use.
Naturally, snagging a gaming chair with superior ergonomics is a smart choice. Depending on the type of gaming chair your choose, you’ll want to look for options with height control, tension control, headrest & lumbar cushioning, armrest adjustability, and/or backrest tilt. Every little feature adds up to offer better support and provide a healthful gaming experience. Trust me — your body will thank you for it.
2. Materials
The best gaming chairs come equipped with various types of materials. Depending on the model, you may encounter natural fabrics, mesh, vinyl, suede, faux leather, genuine leather, and/or a mix of different coverings. Choosing the right one can be tricky.
Our recommendation? If you tend to run hot, a fabric or mesh gaming chair is ideal. If you run cold (or you live on the frozen tundra), opt for a thicker material like vinyl or leather. Also, keep in mind durability. Thicker materials are usually more durable and resistant to wear. A happy balance between all the materials is PU leather, and you’ll find many gaming chairs using it.
3. Style
What’s the point of an epic gaming setup if it doesn’t have a little swag?
Fortunately, gaming chairs come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, meaning you can find the perfect fit for your unique style.
If you’re into flashy colors, a racing-style pedestal seat or bean bag is probably the way to go. They often feature bright blues, neon yellows, and colors of that nature.

Gaming Chair Guide Part IV: A Word of Warning about Audio Gaming Chair Setup
We recommend that all our readers interested in picking up one of the gaming chairs with audio read the specs very carefully. Depending on your TV, sound system, and gaming system, compatibility issues may arise.
Fortunately, with universal audio adapter kits, these issues can usually be solved without too much trouble. Keep in mind, some chairs even have specific wireless kits the manufacturer recommends. If the chair uses Bluetooth technology, that usually makes things a little easier, as you can purchase one of the many Bluetooth dongles.
Remember, these chairs are not truly wireless. Even though many of the chairs are advertised as “wireless,” they still need a power cord run to them to work. So even if the audio syncs up with your TV, sound system, or console, you’ll still have at least one cord running to the chair.
For example, the X Rocker II comes with a power cable and a wireless adapter unit. For this chair to work, you must connect the red/white audio cable to your TV, and then the other end plugs into the little wireless unit. As long as the setting on the box is matched with the setting on the chair, audio setup should be complete. For example if “2” is selected on the chair, use “2” on the box as well. On this chair, the wireless unit requires two triple A batteries.
As a side note, different consoles may require an adapter depending on your set up. Fortunately, most issues aren’t overly troublesome to solve. In addition to the instructions that come with the chair, X Rocker and most other manufacturers have a customer support line that will assist you if need be. The most common issue with getting these chairs working are older TVs that are incompatible because they do not have red and white audio out ports.
Gaming Chair Guide Part V: X Rocker Gaming Chairs
X Rocker are pioneers of the gaming chair market and have pushed some boundaries when it comes to crafting the ideal gaming throne. These video game rocker chairs are designed specifically for console gamers. After all, these chairs are really comfortable and look sharp enough to go in the living room, office, or game room. Furthermore, these chairs have advanced ergonomics implemented into their design to provide maximum comfort.
Most of their chairs have 2 speakers and a subwoofer built-in, such as the Pro Series Pedestal 2.1. The subwoofer uses innovative Audio Force Modulation Technology for a total “sound immersion experience.” This means you will not only hear the sound but actually feel it too. Pretty cool.
Some weigh in at about 50 pounds, so their chairs aren’t necessarily easy to move around. But it should be do-able if you’re keeping them in storage during non-gaming hours.
