Assassin’s Creed fans have a lot to look forward to. As of late, there have been many, many new announcements for upcoming projects and titles in the Assassin’s Creed series. It seems like we’ll have more than enough Assassin’s Creed content to satisfy us for several years into the future.
One of these “games” is the enigmatic Assassin’s Creed Infinity. This is an upcoming project that we know little about, and what we do know is pretty confusing. Luckily, we know just enough to get a good idea of what we can expect from this “game” before it releases to players in the future.

Everything We Know About Assassin’s Creed Infinity
So without any further delays, let’s jump right into this article covering everything we know about Assassin’s Creed Infinity!
It’s a “Hub” or “Platform” For All Assassin’s Creed Games
The first and most interesting thing about Assassin’s Creed Infinity is that it will be less like a game, and more like a hub or platform for all existing and future Assassin’s Creed games. In Infinity, you will be playing a character that you can control and move around, just like in any other Assassin’s Creed game.
From this character, you will be able to move around a “hub” environment and interact with things. We know from an interview with IGN that Ubisoft wants Infinity to feel like a hub area for players to explore. Apparently, this hub area will let you access and play other Assassin’s Creed games more easily. You can move around the location, select the game you want to play, then launch it through this platform.
Time Period + Modern Day Storylines Will Now Take Place in Infinity
Interestingly, Assassin’s Creed Infinity will take place in the modern day. This has been a major part of past Assassin’s Creed games. This hub area will ring some bells if you remember the parts of the story that take place inside of a lab and not some far-off historical setting.
Apparently, we can expect all future stories in the Assassin’s Creed series that take place in the modern day to be expressed through Assassin’s Creed Infinity. From the same IGN interview, we know that this modern-day story will “evolve with time,” which will be very interesting to see.
Release Date + It’ll Be Released Alongside Codename Red
The game is not set to release anytime in 2022 or 2023. The game is estimated to release sometime in the year 2024 at the absolute earliest. This is according to a Bloomberg article by Jason Schreier.
Ubisoft has stated in another interview that they are trying to get Infinity released alongside Codename Red. This is another upcoming Assassin’s Creed project that’s still in the works. We know that Codename Red will hit store shelves after Assassins Creed Mirage comes out, which will release in 2023. This coincides with Schreier’s claims that it will release in 2024 at the earliest.
