Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – How to Get the Armor of Twilight Set

Just about every Zelda title from the past has either a unique piece or an entire armor set appear as a cameo in Tears of the Kingdom. Though fans of Twilight Princess might wonder if Nintendo somehow forgot about it. While other armor sets are a simple find, the Armor of Twilight in TotK requires you to prove your worth to earn it.

Each piece is in a place you’d least expect, guarded by strong enemies, and worst of all in the Depths. So stockpile some arrows and craft some weapons, because you got a fight ahead of you.

Since each piece is in the Depths, don’t forget to bring some Gloom Resistance food and plenty of Brightbloom Seeds.

Cap of Twilight

Out of all the armor in Tears of the Kingdom, the Cap of Twilight might be one of the hardest pieces to get.

To start you’ll want to head to Thyphlo Ruins in Northern Hyrule, just above the Lost Woods. Nearby will be a chasm that will take you exactly to where you need to go.

Dive into the chasm and head northeast to find the entrance to the Gleeok Den. Inside you’ll see King Gleeok himself guarding the chest containing the Cap of Twilight.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to defeat King Gleeok to get your prize. Luckily, we have the perfect strategy for easily defeating this monster of a Gleeok.

How to Beat King Gleeok

First, you’ll need some light so hit up the Lightroots to the north, southeast, and southwest. Alternatively, fire a Giant Brightbloom Seed into the Gleeok Den.

Next, make sure you have monster eyeballs (like Keese Eyeballs) to attach to your arrows to grant them homing properties. This will make it super easy to take out his three heads so you can wail on him while he’s down.

Lastly, make sure to grab a high damage two-hander and at least one attack up armor. Then when you shoot King Gleeok down, you can spin to win for big damage. Follow those steps and you’ll easily be able to claim the Cap of Twilight.

Tunic of Twilight

The Tunic of Twilight can be found in the Depths under the swirly Rist Penisula in Akkala.

You’ll first want to head over to the East Akkala Plains and jump into the chasm there.

Once in the Depths, hug the wall and head southeast until you find the entrance to the Rist Mine.

Luckily, the Rist Mine is a pretty simple adventure, so you won’t be fighting any king monsters here. However, it is a long journey filled with tons of monsters, Zonaite, and darkness, so be sure to bring enough Brightbloom Seeds and mining equipment.

Once you’ve reached the end, you’ll be rewarded with the Tunic of Twilight and more Zonaite than you’ll know what to do with.

Trousers of Twilight

And lastly, the Trouser of Twilight is located deep underground, guarded in an Ancient Fortress.

To get there head to South Akkala near the Akkala Citadel Ruins and jump into the nearby chasm.

Once you land, head north until you see a cliff overlooking the Ancient Underground Fortress.

The first thing you might notice is that the Ancient Fortress is less of a fortress and more of a hole in the ground. The second thing you might notice is the sheer amount of monsters guarding said hole in the ground. Tons of Lizalfos line the area and a Bokoblin Boss patrols the ground level.

Your goal is to reach the ruined building containing the chest with the trousers. You can either defeat every monster here and safely search the area or stealthily glide to the building and take the trousers. Either way, you’ll have grabbed the third and final piece of the Twilight Armor set in TotK.
