Unboxing
The box that the Ergoceptor ships in is extremely heavy, but it comes with everything you need:
- Chair assembly
- Miscellaneous parts & pieces
- Checklist & instruction manual
Given how bulky the box was, I was slightly worried about what the installation process would be like. Hesitantly, I slit open the box and scattered the components across the living room floor.
There were a lot of different pieces, but they were all self-explanatory or appropriately marked. I double checked the checklist to make sure I had everything, then set my sights on the installation manual.
With clear pictures, detailed instructions, and a step-by-step guide that my grandmother could follow, I had the whole chair assembled in less than 30 minutes. Incredible. The universal tool that comes in the box is the only thing you need to put together the chair, and it works like a charm.
I’d like to note that there was one instance where I had to take out my personal tool chest, but it’s a small thing. At the bottom of the chair near the tilt mechanism there are a couple handles that you have to insert. Mine weren’t going in properly, so I brought out a rubber mallet and gently tapped them in. It says to push them in by hand, but that simply did not work for me.
No matter. One little snag, and I was on my way. I moved the chair upstairs, turned on my Nintendo Switch, and got to business playing Fortnite.
The chair performed flawlessly. It rocked and gilded back and forth to move with my body as I got in the groove performing trickshots and taking down enemies.
It conformed perfectly to my movements through every shotgun pump, assault rifle kill, and sniper takedown. And as the game came to a close, the Ergoceptor offered the perfect counterbalance to the rocket launch that landed me an earth-shaking victory.
On the Edge of My Seat
Overall, I am thoroughly impressed by this chair — it may be the most comfortable thing I’ve ever sat in!
First and foremost, the style of the Maxnomic Ergoceptor is impressive. The sleek black design with silver accents is a classy take on the typical gaming chair, but with a unique twist.
The black PU leather is plush and pretty, while the overall look and feel of the design is striking. The angles on the chair offer a unique feel, without feeling forced. The oval-shaped bubbles that adorn the chair from top to bottom add the perfect bit of decoration without being too pretentious or overbearing.
The armrests are positioned at the perfect angle and feature silver accent buttons that let you adjust them up or down and side to side. The solid metal base is what you’d expect from a chair of this stature, and everything comes together to work beautifully.
Moreover, the feel of this chair is second to none. If you’re seeking an eSports or gaming chair that you can sit on for hours at a time, this is definitely the go-to option. While not overly plush or padded, the Ergoceptor offers a firm base that feels good for long stretches of time.
My body loves the feel of this chair, and you can tell that a lot of experimenting and testing went into finding the perfect feel. The back lumbar knob works like a charm while the headrest pillow is a welcome relief when kicking back and zoning out with a puzzle game or movie.
The armrests work flawlessly, and positioning the chair up and down and front to back works better than I could have hoped for. A delightful experience that makes me want to get back to gaming.
Exactly How Ergonomic is the Ergoceptor?
The materials on the Ergoceptor are top notch, and the quality and durability of the chair reflects that. The all-leather exterior and metal base are incredibly cozy and strong, while the dials and buttons that make the chair work are firm and will obviously stand up to years of use.
Inside you’ll find cold-cured foam that perfectly compliments the leather exterior and offers great support and comfort. To top it off, the accent threads are stitched in place beautifully. Overall, a great offering of high quality materials that balances style and performance.
Durability is where the Ergoceptor truly outperforms the competition. Putting it into use was one of the most pleasurable things I’ve done in a long time. It easily adjusts to the right height with the simple lever on the bottom right side of the chair, so you’re in position quickly.
On the other side, there is a locking mechanism that lets you move the chair front and back, similar to what you’d find on a recliner. Adjust the mechanism to operate the reclining feature, and you can send the seat all the way down, almost to an 180 degree angle. The best part? You’re totally safe and supported thanks to the incredibly sturdy base and overall construction of the chair.
All of this combined with the great armrests that offer a unique ergonomic grip, cozy cushions, and a beautiful design makes this the perfect go-to chair for gamers across the spectrum.
Pull Up a Chair & Stay Awhile
You get what you pay for, and this chair is no exception. Expect to shell out hundreds of dollars for the Maxnomic Ergoceptor, and even more if you choose some of the optional upgrades from their website.
That said, it’s money well-spent. While there are many eSports chairs on the market, this is one of best gaming chairs around. It’s solidly crafted, durable, and so comfortable you’ll want to sleep in it! Overall, exceptional value for the money!
Overall, the Maxnomic Ergoceptor has been a joy to use. It’s even become my main gaming chair! Incredible features, durable materials, and unrivaled comfort combine to create a luxury experience like no other. Our recommendation? If you can afford it, you should grab one.
