What to Look for in a Full Tower Case

Before we take a closer look at each model, let’s recap the most important factors to consider when choosing your chassis.

1. Motherboard Support

Motherboards are the beating heart of your computer. Naturally, there are various types of motherboards, ranging from Mini-ITX to XL-ATX and everywhere in between. But will your favorite case work with your motherboard?

We’ve made checking motherboard compatibility super easy by including a list of supported form factors at the beginning of each product summary. Just compare the two to find a perfect match.

2. Specifications

The motherboard is essential, but so are the finer specifications. Look closely at things like the number of expansion slots and USB ports to ensure an ideal fit. If you’ve got parts picked out already (like a hard drive or GPU), make sure the case supports those.

We’ve labeled many of the most critical specs for your convenience, and you can find more info on the product pages themselves.

3. Design Elements

Once you’ve figured out your motherboard and spec requirements, it’s time to consider style. You need a case that’s spacious and modular enough to support your build. But you also need to consider aesthetics.

Are you a minimalist? We’ve found a few sleek & simple cases just for you. Perhaps you prefer a bit more color? Not to worry. Many of the best full tower PC cases feature RGB LEDs for stunning light shows that dance across your desk.

Finding something that pleases your eye shouldn’t be an afterthought. After all, you’ll be using this thing a lot.

I can personally attest to the versatility of Phanteks Enthoo and Obsidian. In my opinion, Cougars are as plain as vanilla ice cream, with no grommets and terrible cable management structure. Thermaltek has a huge selection a varying types of cases, prices, and functionality to fit any builders style. I also like the Rosewill Prism T500. It is older, but its got stunning all around temp glass, unique design, grommet lining, changeable RGB and cooling prowess.
