LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga features a diverse cast of characters to play as. You can be a scavenger, a bounty hunter, a Jedi, a Sith, and everything in between! One of the coolest classes in the game, however, are the edgy wielders of the Dark side. This includes such iconic characters as Darth Vader and Darth Maul, among many others.
But just which of these characters is the best? Which ones look the coolest and are the most fun to play? We will be covering all of these questions and more this article on the best Dark Siders in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga!
Top 8 Best Dark Siders, Ranked From Good to Best
So what are we waiting for? Let’s get right into the best Dark Siders in The Skywalker Saga. We’re starting with the bottom and working our way up.
8/8
Count Dooku
Kicking off our ranking, we have the Sith Lord Count Dooku taking spot number eight! This is a classic character from the prequel era whom many will recognize for his unique curved lightsaber. While I personally wasn’t a big fan of him in Attack of the Clones, his character was much more menacing and in-depth in The Clone Wars!
The character model for him in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is an excellent recreation of his look from the films. He wears a brown Jedi cape (reminiscent of his days in the temple) and a black outfit for his torso and legs. He features white hair and a beard on his face, both of which look great. My favorite part about this character is his special curved lightsaber hilt!
Purchasing Count Dooku will cost you 200,000 studs. But first, you need to unlock him by completing the mission “Battle of The Jedi,” which requires you to play through most of Episode II: Attack of The Clones.
7/8
Kylo Ren (No Helmet)
Next up on our ranking for the top eight Dark Siders in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, we have the Dark Jedi Kylo Ren! This is the first sequel character on this list and one of the primary antagonists from the sequel trilogy. He may not be anywhere near as intimidating or iconic as Darth Vader, but I still enjoyed watching him on the big screen. And his design is great as well!
Kylo Ren sports an all-black outfit with a black hood going around the back, as well as long black hair. Edgy! I personally like the look of him without his helmet on, but his Episode IX helmet looks really great with the added red “scars” (for lack of a better word). And his lightsaber is amazing too! While it doesn’t affect gameplay, seeing that cross-shaped saber is just awesome.
You can unlock the no-helmet version of Kylo Ren from The Force Awakens by completing the level “Destroying Starkiller.” He can be purchased from the character select screen for exactly 200,000 studs. If you want to unlock the Episode IX version of him with his helmet, you need to finish the level “The Strength to Do it.”
6/8
Anakin Skywalker (Charred)
Here at spot number six, it’s Anakin Skywalker (Charred)! This is a very unique Minifigure, thanks to both its design and the lore surrounding the character. Set right just after Anakin’s defeat against Obi-Wan on Mustafar, this is the last we ever see of Anakin’s face in Episode III before he takes on the mask and fully becomes the dark lord of the Sith we all know and love.
The outfit is Anakin’s Jedi robes that he wears in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, but battered and torn apart. You can see many, many scars throughout Anakin’s body, leftover burn marks from when he nearly died on the lava planet. One thing I really like is the blue lightsaber, which is very unique for a Sith Lord. Thankfully, this model features all his limbs still attached, so he’s still good for combat!
If you want to get your hands on this specific version of Anakin/Darth Vader, you can acquire it completely free after beating the last mission in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The level is called “The High Ground” and requires you to fight a boss battle against Anakin Skywalker.
5/8
The Emperor
In spot number five, it’s everyone’s favorite megalomanic Sith Lord, Emperor Palpatine! This sinister-looking character is by far one of my favorite villains of all time. While he remained a pretty basic bad guy trope in the original trilogy, the way he was portrayed in the prequels was fantastic. He is a Machiavellian genius who outsmarted the thousand-year-old Jedi Order, and that is pretty impressive.
This specific version of the character features his iconic black Sith Robes, with a creepy and poorly aged face. And who can forget his menacing yellow eyes? He even features a brown walking cane, which he uses when you move around! While he still features his red lightsaber, they removed his ability to use Force lightning for whatever reason. While this is disappointing, he is still fun to play with.
To unlock the dreaded Emperor Palpatine for yourself, you need to play through Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and complete the level “Senate Showdown.” Once this mission is over, you can snag him for a price of 200,000 studs. He can also be obtained using the cheat code SIDIOUS.
4/8
Darth Maul
Let’s take a moment to talk about my absolute favorite Star Wars character of all time — Darth Maul! While he was a bit of a letdown in The Phantom Menace and didn’t get much fleshing out, the way he was portrayed in The Clone Wars was nothing short of amazing. He went from a cool-looking Sith with little beyond the surface, to one of the most complicated and interesting characters in Star Wars.
This iteration of him we have chosen for the top eight Dark Siders in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is his variant with the black hood and cape. The costume features a beautiful Sith robe that is a matching shade of black. His scary red faces really stand out against it. But the best part of this character is his dual-bladed lightsaber (also called a saber staff)!
If you want to add him to your collection, you first need to defeat him in a boss fight in the level “Better Call Maul.” This level is found in The Phantom Menace. He is one of the easiest and earliest Dark Side characters you can unlock, making him a good character to go for early game. He will cost you 200,000 studs, however.
3/8
Snoke
Taking home the bronze medal in our ranking, it’s the Supreme Leader Snoke! Say what you will about how his character was handled in the sequel trilogy. Snoke being killed off in The Last Jedi was pretty disappointing, and it’s a shame that they threw away his character for the sake of bringing back Emperor Palpatine. Despite this mishandling, he does in fact make a great Minifigure!
This specific design of him features his golden robe from Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. It’s a wonderfully unique outfit, and it even comes with a unique pair of legs found on only a select few other characters in the game. While he does not use a lightsaber in the films or in the game, he does feature a unique special ability: force lightning! This power makes him a blast to play as in LEGO Star Wars.
To get this character, you will need to jump threw a few hoops. First, you’ll want to head to the stormy planet of Exegol. From there, you can find a special puzzle that you’ll need to do in order to unlock him for purchase. He can be bought for 200,000 studs. 2/8
Rey (Sith)
Here at spot number two on the list, we have Rey (Sith)! While she isn’t my favorite character in the Star Wars franchise, she does make a really good-looking Sith Lord! I’ve always been a sucker for alternate-scenario-type characters, so seeing Rey as a Sith Lord is really cool. This specific design comes from her flashback scene in the sequel trilogy.
The design is that of a black Sith robe with a black cape and hood to match the design. There is a brown belt across her waist which adds some needed color to her palette. Most interestingly are her custom dual-bladed lightsaber! I love seeing saber staffs like this used by characters, as it makes slicing up enemies so much more satisfying.
If you want to unlock this character for your collection, you will need to complete the mission “The Strength To Do It,” which requires you to play through Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Thankfully, you won’t need to spend a dime to unlock her.
1/8
Darth Vader
And now, taking spot number one for our absolute favorite Dark side user, it’s the legend himself, Darth Vader! Was this really a surprise to anyone? He is the most iconic character in the entire Star Wars franchise, and seeing him as a Minifigure is a great sight to behold. He is voiced by Fred Tatasciore, who does a wonderful job of mimicking the iconic character in his deep and menacing voice.
As for the design, it is pretty much what you would expect. Not much has changed in the years since he first appeared as a Minifigure in LEGO sets, but why would you change perfection? He features his iconic black suit, black cape, and that intimidating mask. His red lightsaber is standard among the other Dark side users, but it is still just as effective and fun to use in combat.
To unlock this legendary figure, you will need to finish the mission “The Chewbacca Defense.” This is a mission that is found in Episode VI: Return of The Jedi. He does not require any studs in order to purchase, which makes obtaining him even more rewarding.
