Porsche Design and AOC have announced the upcoming release of the Porsche Design AOC AGON PD27 Gaming Monitor. This monitor has a 27″ QHD panel, 240 Hz refresh rate, and 0.5 ms MPRT. The silver stand is designed to resemble the roll cage of a race car, and the monitor can project its logos in different colors and light up the back of the display. The race car-inspired design netted the monitor the Red Dot Award 2020.

“With its linear and purist design that blends form and function, the Porsche Design AOC AGON PD27 is a perfect embodiment of the brand’s DNA and overarching design philosophy,” says Roland Heiler, Chief Design Officer at Porsche Design. “Combined with AOC AGON’s innovative and cutting-edge technologies, the new monitor is developed for gamers seeking optimal performance that doesn’t compromise on style.”

Among other design goals, the PD27 is meant to provide an edge in competitive gaming.

“The product is exquisitely crafted to capture the spirit of thrilling, ultra-high performance,” says David Ray, Marketing Director at Envision Peripherals, Inc. “It will appeal to serious gamers, or anyone who appreciates the pursuit of perfection.”

Meant to deliver vivid, lifelike colors and a wide dynamic range, the PD27 is certified with VESA’s DisplayHDR 400. It also features a tight 1000R (1 m radius) curvature. Meanwhile, the Hz refresh rate of 240 mitigates perceivable motion blur, and the 1 ms GtG and 0.5 ms MPRT pixel response times work to provide a gaming experience free of ghosting effects. And with AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro, gamers will be able to play without worrying about screen tearing.

The AGON PD27 ships with a wireless (IR) keypad shaped like a center console. It provides quick access to monitor settings or gaming presets. The monitor also has 5W stereo speakers with DTS sound, and it comes equipped with a 4-port USB 3.2 hub, 2 HDMI 2.0 inputs, and 2 DisplayPort 1.4 inputs. The VA panel has a 550 nit brightness meant to ensure undisturbed gameplay under any lighting conditions.

The Porsche Design AOC AGON PD27 becomes available on December 5, 2020 in certain Porsche Design stores, online at their website, and on Amazon for $799.99.
