4K monitors have four-times the pixel resolution of an HD monitor. Meanwhile, OLED, or organic light-emitting diode displays are the best choice for brightness. Do 4K OLED monitors exist? So far not many that offer the full OLED gaming experience, beyond just the OLED “livedash” on some 4k panels.
At High Ground Gaming, however, we think 4K OLED monitors are the wave of the future. For now, here’s a closer look at the four best 4K OLED monitors to buy. With any one of these choices you’ll be on the cutting-edge of gaming technology.
1. KTC 4K OLED Gaming Monitor
The Best 4K OLED Monitor for Gaming Overall
Screen Size: 42 inches | Refresh Rate: 165 Hz | Key Features: 90W USB Type-C Reverse Charging; 8W Built-in Speakers | Price: 💰💰💰
No way around it, OLED 4K monitor technology is somewhat new and as can often be the case when cutting-edge stuff hits the market, pretty expensive. To that end, I selected the KTC 4K OLED Gaming Monitor as the best budget option in my list (and my top pick overall). Slightly more affordable than other displays I reviewed, there’s still a 165 Hz refresh rate with this 42-inch panel. Feedback told me the KTC 4K OLED ran great at 3840 by 2160p and 144 Hz using the display port cable. Meanwhile 60 Hz is available via HDMI.
Otherwise, the 1440p looks crisp and clear, with very little ghosting reported with the factory settings. Overall, I learned this is an incredible monitor — especially for the price, with very little backlight bleed and no dead pixels to speak of. Your games will feel smooth, according to reports, with good response time and no stuttering. Many used it not just for gaming, but also for work, and for watching movies. The built-in speakers do leave something to be desired, though.

2. LG Ultrafine OLED Monitor
The Best 4K OLED Monitor for Work & Gaming
Screen Size: 32 inches | Refresh Rate: 60 Hz | Key Features: 1-millisecond response time; VESA Display HDR 400 True Black | Price: 💰💰💰💰💰
Next in my ranking of the best 4K OLED monitors for gaming, I reviewed the Ultrafine OLED monitor from LG. With 27 and 32-inch models available, I liked the 1-millisecond response time and VESA display HDR 400 Truck Black feature. Consumers call the blacks perfect, with “first-rate” color rendition, and no visible artifacts reported. The pixel size is also excellent, I found out, with no gaps to be seen, and incredible sharpness. There’s also complete full-range dimming, feedback told me.
The refresh rate, however, is only 60 Hz, a drawback for some players, but that said, most report this is an excellent gaming monitor. It’s also a great choice for work or for streaming video. 4K content looked stunning in particular. Meanwhile, the color controls are easy to use, and it remembers your color settings as you switch back and forth between different interfaces.
Some color-shift problems were reported, however, when seated at about 45-degree angle from the monitor, and like other OLED monitors, the white balance got mixed reviews, particularly for games with extra-bright areas.

3. ASUS ROG Swift 4K OLED Gaming Monitor
The Best Anti-Glare 4K OLED Monitor for Gaming
Screen Size: 41.5 inches | Refresh Rate: 138 Hz | Key Features: G-SYNC Compatible; DisplayPort included | Price: 💰💰💰
When it comes to picking out any kind of monitor, eye strain prevention is an important consideration. The same is true for 4K OLED. When I read about the anti-glare coating on the ASUS ROG Swift 4K OLED I had no problem recommending it as the best anti-glare monitor in this list. As one might expect, the anti-glare coating cuts down on reflection without affecting color reproduction. Feedback told me the coating works as promised. As far as the 4K OLED, further reports said the black levels, refresh rate, and colors were all first rate.
With the ASUS ROG Swift, expect “buttery smooth” gaming, one comment said. As a testament to how easy on the eyes gaming on the ASUS ROG 4K OLED can be, one consumers called it a great pick after they had eye surgery. In the end, it’s responsive and works well with a broad range of gaming platforms, including PC, XBox Series X, and even Switch — all combined, definitely one of the best 4K OLED monitors out there.

4. Sony BRAVIA XR MASTER Series A90J
The best 4K OLED TV for gaming
Screen Size: 77 inches | Refresh Rate: 120 Hz | Key Features: Ambient light sensor; XR OLED Contrast Pro technology | Price: 💰💰💰💰💰
While not exactly a monitor, I feel like we had to mention this TV in this roundup of the best 4K OLED monitors for gaming: the Sony BRAVIA XR MASTER Series A90J. Available in 55, 65, and 77-inch models (we reviewed the 77-inch A90J), this monitor has true OLED with “silky-smooth” blacks and fantastic colors, I found out. One consumer reported clear highlight distinction in dimmer areas. As for the 4K, it really will make your games look great, reports say. I like the exclusive PS5 features in particular, including low input lag of only 8.5 milliseconds, as well as Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Switch, among others.
Perhaps best of all, the A90J game menu keeps all your game settings easy to access and easy to change. One report, however, did say the ambient light sensor didn’t handle hockey games well, triggered by all that white space. You will certainly also pay a hefty price for this Sony BRAVIA product, but the A90J is clearly a significant upgrade on other displays out there, and clearly the best 4K OLED TV for gaming available.
