The card collection system in Lost Ark is arguably one of the most important systems in the game as it can provide noticeable amounts of additional damage and support to your characters. But with over a dozen different card sets and over a hundred different individual cards, it can be a little overwhelming trying to decide and figure out the best cards to use and which card sets to start working towards. And with a limited amount of card slots, it’s best to not just use every card you come across or you’ll find yourself in an unfavorable situation where you need to buy more card slots.
With the quality-of-life addition of the two “new player friendly” cardsets Deep Dive and You Have A Plan, it’s never been easier for new players to get impactful cardsets without having to pour in hundreds of hours into the game. It’s best you try to stay away from extremely niche card sets that may be considered best-in-slot for single builds as those can be more researched and focused on down the road with a better knowledge and understanding of the game.
A couple of important notes to keep in mind:
- You also have a chance to get cards at random in card packs/selection packs of their respective rarities (e.g you have a chance to get the legendary card Thirain from opening a Legendary Card Pack)
- You can use the in-game codex (Alt + D) to search for the desired card and it will show how it is acquired
With all that in mind, here’s my general overall recommendations for card sets to start working towards from just starting the game all the way toward the endgame!
You Have A Plan
This is one of the new card sets that is great for new players who play a support class. The two legendary cards required for this set will also get you started on your Lostwind Cliff set as they are also used in that set.
Since you can buy Delain Armen at a wandering merchant, that will most likely be one of the first legendary cards you’ll max so keep an eye out. Overall, you can obtain all the cards in this set from multiple sources, making them relatively easy to get copies of.
Acquisition
Kharmine: [Abyssal Dungeon], [Achievements] Wartorn – Start of Endless Chaos
Delain Armen: [Abyssal Dungeon], [Collectible] Ignea Tokens, [Exchange] East Luterra – Wandering Merchant
Krause: [Exchange] Arthentine – Wandering Merchant, [Achievements] Others – So Scandalous, [Chaos Dungeon] Tier 3

Deep Dive
This is one of the new card sets that is great for new players who play a dps class. The two legendary cards required for this set will also get you started on your Light of Salvation set as they are also used in that set.
Since you can buy Balthorr at a wandering merchant, that will most likely be one of the first legendary cards you’ll max so keep an eye out. Overall, you can obtain all the cards in this set from multiple sources, making them relatively easy to get copies of.

Varut: [Exchange] Rethramis – Wandering Merchant, [Quest] Prideholme – Tablet of Revelations, [Chaos Dungeon] Tier 3Thunder: [Exchange] Yudia – Wandering Merchant, [Rapport] Saland Hill – Thunder, [Chaos Dungeon] Tier 3
Light of Salvation
This is one of the best-in-slot damage card sets for mid to lategame players. For a reference, having Light of Salvation at 18 set is about as impactful as a full Deep Dive 30 set. Also one of the best-in-slot card sets for mid to lategame depending on the raid boss element weakness. Most consider this the endgame goal card set to use on for dps classes.
It’s best to start identifying which cards you need for this set early on because it will take a lot of time to collect enough copies of the cards to reach the Light of Salvation 30 set. But because the Abyssal Dungeons have a chance to drop Light of Salvation cards, it’s not a bad idea to run them every week if you’re really trying to hunt down those copies!
Acquisition
Shandi: [Abyssal Dungeon]
Azena and Inanna: [Abyssal Dungeon], [Rapport] Rothun – Azena
Nineveh: [Abyssal Dungeon], [Rapport] Whispering Islet – Nineveh

Lostwind Cliff
Lostwind Cliff is the step up for support card sets from the You Have A Plan set and can be used by supports all the way up to endgame content. Can be considered the best-in-slot support card set.
Acquisition
Seria : [Exchange] East Luterra – Wandering Merchant, [Adventurer’s Tome] West Luterra, [Chaos Dungeon] Tier 3
Executor Solas: [Quest] Borea’s Domain – Holy Inquisitors, [Chaos Dungeon] Tier 3

Kazeros’s Legion Commanders
This card set is the exact same as the Light of Salvation set in terms of damage but with dark damage instead of holy damage. Also one of the best-in-slot card sets for mid to lategame depending on the raid boss element weakness.
This is considered the endgame goal card set to use on for dps classes. It’s best to start identifying which cards you need for this set early on because it will take a lot of time to collect enough copies of the cards to reach the Kazeros’s Legion Commanders 30 set. But because the Legion Raid bosses drop their respective cards, it’s not a bad idea to run them every week if you’re really trying to hunt down those copies!
